I am one of them.'Same old tracks' Hmm lets see - Spa, Daytona, Indy, Monza, Cape Ring, Nurburgring GP/24H, Toscana, Eiger Nordwand, Kart Space plus all of the track generator tracks. And there's nothing wrong with the 'old' tracks either, in fact, many people want all of them back!.
SimonK"same old tracks" isn't the problem with GT5 in terms of tracks, it's how few there are and how many old GT tracks they missed off. The game would have had much more life with 10 more tracks, most of which could've come from older GT games.
Kazunori's name starts with K
Mikecustom - I think you have prehaps used a little too much hyperbole in your post:
'200 cars' There's over 1000, and if you are only counting premiums then the number is up to about 270ish, thanks to DLC and free gifts/additions.
'No damage' There is damage, both visual and mechanical. The extent to which cars can be visually be damaged does vary and it generally could do with some improvement but the damage is there.
'Recycled and worst sound ever' Worst sound ever, are you joking me? You should try an 80's/90's arcade game. Also i'll think you'll find pretty much all of the standard sounds are unique, only when you add exhausts do some sound very similar.
'No customisation at all' Again, are you joking me? There's a pretty extensive tuning shop for performance mods and GT Auto lets you paint body's and custom wheels. Standards get custom wheels and wings and premiums can get bodykits and carbon bonnets as well.
'Same old events' Thats how its always been to an extent, but these events usually include new cars and tracks and many of the events are new to GT5, plus there are seasonal events and online, never had either of them in GT4!

'Same old cars' There are about 200 new cars and pretty much all of them are premium!
'I could do better with their resources' To say that is a real discredit and very disrespectful to the whole of PD who have worked long and hard on GT5, have you seen the bunks under their desks! Don't be stupid, there is no way you would be able to create a better game than PD can, it is a very complex procedure. So please don't talk crap.
I should add that I am not a die-hard fanboy who will stick up for everything in the game, I accept it has flaws but instead prefer to just ignore them where possible rather than ranting and raging about them over the internet. Instead, this post was made for the purpose of stating the facts.

Directly to OP.
There is enogh to play for years.
GT5 is far from over. Always looking for new ways to keep the game fresh and alive. Been playing from launch too.
Sure if you like doing the same things over and over again.
I could spend years finding different ways to clip my toe nails too but i ain't braggin' about it.
Are you trying to convince us, or yourself ?
You don't have to look for new ways to keep a game fresh and alive, except for when that game is already..... over.
👍

sinbadMaybe we would have had all of those tracks if people weren't so excited about bleeding photo mode locations.
When I think about the amount of work that must have gone into those and the menu backgrounds, it does annoy me.
Pointless levels of detail in premium cars which you only see in photo mode are just as much of a waste. This is supposed to be a driving game, not an "ooh that's shiny and hi res with good shadows, let's pretend it looks like that when it's moving" game.
GT5 is only over to you as a person if you make it so.
I still play it regularly and I also race in a league every sunday as well.
The fact that we don't get regular DLC does not mean that the game is over, we still get seasonals etc and updated OCD to keep it moving. Games survived years in the past without DLC so why the change now?
I will keep playing GT5 until GT6 comes out and I still will afterwards.
Bye YaNot over for me. I restarted.![]()
Why on earth would anyone do that? I don't understand the logic.
Aarrh!threads like this really annoy me, people moan that gt5 is dead because there isn't regular enough (for them!) dlc or whatever but you know those same people would also moan if dlc was brought out once a month every month that their beloved dlc is being used as a subscription and PD are ripping off their customers by rushing out subpar dlc, its stupid. I'm seriously coming to the conclusion that the very worst thing about gt5 has nothing what so ever to do with PD or Sony, its that so many people who play gt5 then bitch and moan about it online are idiots of the very highest order, I really do dispare. If you enjoy the game play if you don't enjoy it don't play it, no one is going to lose any sleep over it.
Enjoying life is about perspective and attitude. The sooner a person realizes this, the sooner they're "happy." GT5 is only over if you quit. The race is only over if you quit? Are you a quitter?
Might just be me, but not only does the philosophical logic mostly escape me, neither does the conclusion (and subsequent questions asked to illustrate it) seem to be related to that logic.
