Is GT5 worth buying a PS3 for?

If you get tired of GT5, are you going to let your PS3 in the dust? Man, I love GT5, but I also love another PS3 games just like most of ppl here. I wouldn't buy a PS3 just to play one game!

So yeh go buy the playstation and I am sure you won't regret it especially since I know for sure that you will end up exchanging games with your friends or even buying new titles like assassins creed etc.

I'll guess that you are the proud owner of a HD TV. So I'd tell you to get it. The game is awesome and if you didn't own a Bluray-Player before you'll own one.

After first reading the thread title I was going to reply 'no'. Knowing now that you have a DFP and driving rig, I'd say definitely yes.

I'm not sure that GT5 alone is enough to warrant the purchase of a PS3. The PS3 itself has a lot else going for it besides top-notch games so I think anyone that is in to digital entertainment would be happy with a PS3.

EDIT: I'm going to quote an earlier post because it's spot on (I know the OP has since purchased a PS3, but I'm sure there are others that are wondering the same thing):

Sony's exclusives are leaps and bounds ahead of Microsoft's.

Unless you HAVE to play Halo or you wanna play specifically with your friends who ALL have 360s, there's very little to recommend a 360 over a PS3.

That being said, I'd find it pretty difficult to recommend a PS3 solely for GT 5. It's most definitely NOT the system seller that some of the previous iterations of the series were.

But THAT being said, if you're a gamer and haven't experienced Uncharted or LittleBigPlanet or ModNation Racers, you owe it to yourself to get a PS3 and check them out.
