searchin over if there are other sim racing on ps3. seems like gt6 is the only one. of course the gt5 is one of them.
Shift 2 is terrible with a controller though.
Shift 2 has the most incredible potential, and I love the game. But the cars are just LOL to drive.
Bought the game off PSN.Especially the track list is fantastic. A shame really.

This is the single reason PCars remains on a knife edge in my mind. I too loved the immersive, more visceral feel of S2, made some lovely replica liveries also. Couldn't drive for toffee when I went back to GT5, so much was the need to adapt to S2's atrocious 'pivot' in centre of car physics.
PCars (moreover SMS), GT6's current state (and how it will bode for GT7) and DriveClub doesn't even come into it in my mind, are certainly making my decision when to get a PS4 a lot less taxing.
There is only one other competitor in the driving "sim" area at the moment and that's Forza 5. Assuming you were describing them for the OP and helping him to make a buying decision, how would you compare the two in your personal, hands-on experience? In terms of realism and physics on a console, I don't think GT6 can be topped.

That Forza 5 has some incredible car/track selections, but nothing comes close to the realism of the physics of GT6.There is only one other competitor in the driving "sim" area at the moment and that's Forza 5. Opinion, at most. That Forza 5 has some incredible car/track selections, but nothing comes close to the realism of the physics of GT6.
When Tiff Needell is doing a real life vs Forza 5 test with an R8 at Silverstone, and the thing is comically sliding like Shift 2, you can tell that the physics are tailored more towards enjoyment than full-on realism.Opinion, at most.
There can be no tone in a written post. Anything you think about how he said it is entirely in your head. Not liking your smart tone in that one.

Just my opinion though, and i'm not putting Forza down in any way. I envy some of their car and track selections.
Mine.Your opinion, or Tiffs?
Mine.
I have played it. I've tested each one since Forza 2, and I actually think the old physics engines bear some resemblance to GT6 in the steering feel. But Forza 5 feels like a weird mix of sim and Shift 2 input lag/sliding thing. But you haven't played it, have you? You can't make a true judgement of a games physics just by watching someone play it. Forza 5 physics could well be worse but I don't know, I haven't played it either.
