Is GT7 fast becoming the worst of the GT Series?

Is your point that the game no longer uses 20+-year old car models and that this is "strange"?

The identity crisis of Gran Turismo fans...

Here is what we want;

We'd like all modern cars as and when they're released to the public, we would also like older cars from the 80's through late 90's because they're nostalgic! We would like to have the British Touring cars and German DTM cars, as well as the Japanese GT500 cars. Also the newest GT3 cars! For fun we'd also like weird cars that some of us have probably never heard of and normal cars that we may drive normally.

But...

Please don't add most of the modern cars as we'll never actually race them, and this is a racing game after all, so just give us race cars instead of those. If we could also have less of the race focused cars as sometimes it's better to have slow pace races in street cars, just not those boring normal street cars, but not the ones we see all the time like JDM hero cars, we get bored of those and want something a bit different. Also, don't focus on the newest race cars because they're from racing series we don't follow, give us nostalgic race cars instead. And stop adding weird cars that we'll never, ever actually race beyond one or two novelty races.

Well, I am going to get crucified for saying this, but I brought GTS at launch and didn’t touch sport!!! 😱 just because the online trophies seemed so unattainable - boy was I wrong and did I miss some years daily racing.

I did finally get into it, toward the end, found the YouTubers who helped me get gud, got the online trophies (still didn’t get the plat though, damn you level 50 grind) and for a while liked GTS more than GT7 when it came out.

So GT7 is a game I’ve grown with and for all of its single player faults, online daily racing wise I can’t fault it.

I even purchased a PS3 recently to finish off the 5 prologue and 5/6 instalments.

Keep this stuff coming PD, this is what ill retire doing 😆

It's not the worst by any means possible. It's actually such a great platform to build upon from. The problem is the lack of interest they have for their fanbase's constructive opinions and inexistent dialogue. This game is such an unpolished diamond that it could be the best car racing game/sim/encyclopedia (however you want to call it) in history. It's just being pulled down from glory by corporate greed and customer feedback neglect.

Well too much drama for nothing, so again this is my point. If someone never understand.

GT7
Infiniti CONCEPT Vision Gran Turismo...

Infiniti brand (2025)
Q50
QX50
QX55
QX60
QX80

The same happend with Citroen, Skoda and many more in the game. Why a fictional or real prototype is the whole representation of a brand in the game, strange car selection or dubious if this is the case.

Licensing.

Additionally, many brands will agree to promote their brand in a collaboration of this kind, but can't see the point in all the effort to model old cars (especially if they don't have a heritage fleet with ready access) because they don't make money selling old cars so won't entertain the idea at all.

On the flip, PD has to see the value of modelling their new cars for the game (which usually takes so long that the car is a facelift out of date by then) in order to pay for licensing them. A lot of brands are just churning out CUVs/SUVs now (as neatly exemplified by your list) and until very recently PD had shown little appetite to bother with them other than oddities in games like GT: Concept.

PD abandoned the buckets of cars approach two games ago, after - but not necessarily because of - all the derision over duplicates (although there are remnants). What we get now are cars that fit in or cars that interest PD.

GT7's car selection being strange for cars like Unimog or CR-V? Then GT4 has [a Honda Odyssey]
...on the other hand, I feel them choosing the 88C-V over TS010 in GT4 also feels like a strange pick. (See also 512BB over Testarossa in GT5P/GT5.)

Better to have both, and it can also be a complaint that GT only focuses on adding racecars that have prestige over others like BMW M Hybrid.

I thought it was the worst game in the series - worse than GT6 as that had more cars and tracks, but since they added Sophy to create race, I'd have to say GT7 is now the best game out of all of them.
