At first glance I know this question sounds foolish. I mean, no steering wheel, no car interior....maybe you feel disconnected from the car. Some cars are fine. I actually prefer interior view in most vehicles. But then I drive a more purebred race car and the view is not so good from inside. For one, probably 1/2 the screen or more is taken up by the interior stuff. And the windows seem a bit less see-through (although maybe that’s my imagination). And I know the argument - it gives a more realistic feel. Well....it certainly gives a more realistic look. My counter argument would be for the front bumper cam. When you’re actually driving a car - and I can’t speak for actual race cars - you see a lot more than something the size of half your TV. We have peripheral vision - something that can’t come close to being replicated unless you have a 3 monitor set up. And being on the front bumper gives you that more free viewing sensation - something I think is more akin to actually driving. Am I completely out to lunch here? Anyone else agree with me? I’m curious. And I’m going to make a poll - I know they’ve been done before, but polls are fun

Playing on a 21inch TV, cockpit view is just too small so bumper all way. I do own bigger TV’s but I’ve been playing on the same TV since PS3 GT5 days, it just wont break

I play on a 65” and it’s still not that good for most cars. Especially with the crap like driver lists, track map clogging up the screen.

I voted bumper, but im not 100% happy with any of the views, they all have flaws.

I think the roof is better, though it's often on the hood depending on the car. I prefer it on the hood, on stuff like the group 4 lamborghini the roof cam doesn't feel good

Yep - completely agree. Although I don’t know they could do to make a view that I’m perfectly happy with

Bumper - the camera feels too far back in the engine bay.

Roof - no mirror, looks like your staring down at the pavement

Chase - too static, kills immersion (imo)

Cockpit - cluster****

Worst of all, turn off track map and driver list and you lose the mfd, why??? Let people turn whatever they want on/off like every other racer out there. Thats the worst part for me.

Agree that bumper or roof cam is the best in terms of visibility. However, I race almost exclusively in cockpit view, simply because I like the feel of immersion and it gives and I enjoy it the most :)

Exceptions are obviously VGT cars that don't have a modelled interior, and the Citroen GT car, as it has really really awful visibility.

Cockpit view here, although I think there should be a virtual rearview mirror as an option for every car- I love the RS.01, but with virtually no rear vision it is tough to race in. Totally agree there should be more HUD options. On a lot of LHD cars, the opponent list obscures the mirror.
