As the owner of 200 GT40 Race Car '69's, it was worth it. However, much like real classic cars they are merely a method to sock away cash, 1,200,000,000Cr in my case.

Why not backup your save, buy and test it then if you dont like it, restore old save.
I actually created an ID for just that and I use it to also work up a tune. If I take several days and find the car not worth the price, loosing the 200% bonus by restoring its save for that ID is no biggie. My primary ID is unaffected.

It would also be a way to own & drive every car in the game at lease for a short period.

I like the GT40 a lot but have not bought either of the 20 mil versions yet. I will at some point but there are a lot of other cars that are great and cost a lot less. I think right now I have about 350+ cars in my garage and about 18 mil saved up. I may end up getting the blue Gulf livery GT40 just to have it in my collection.

lol yeah it is, I said it in the previous page but noone saw it...
I did this to check out all of the classic racecars. The XJ13 was the best looking, no doubt about it, but the aged technology and handling made it hard to choose between them all for performance. I ended up with the GT40 from this topic because it was my favorite from GT5, but I feel like I'll be grinding the X1s again to buy the 330 or the XJ13. The Miura was a bit underpowered unfortunately. :(

that Jag is indeed a beauty! glad I helped ;)

lol. Guess I must have passed it. :(
no problem, just in case:

How to "test drive" cars, or get your Credits back if you dislike a car you just bought:

No car is worth grinding the 20.000.000 credits.
This. IMO, you'd get far more enjoyment out of the dozens and dozens of cars you could buy with that $20Mill, than you'll ever get out of the Ford. The whole game economy is ridiculous IMO, thankfully the early money glitch saved me from all this. I have a dozen or so sitting in my garage as part of my "savings" account from that glitch, I'd send you a couple if I could OP.

I bought all the 20million credit cars because I'm running race series for them and needed to do testing.

The GT40 MK1 Gulf livery car is at least 1 second a lap slower than the Ford MK4, Jaguar XJ13 and Ferrari 330 P4. It is harder to drive than those cars also, but quite satisfying. The best bang per buck car of that type is the Chaparral 2D for 3.75 m - it laps faster than the Ford MK4.

The GT40 road car can be upgraded, but even with a tune it lacks grip and cannot lap as fast as any of the above cars at equal PP levels.

Toyota 7 is great value and great fun.

Spent 20mill on the Ferrari GTO '62 race car. Absolutely beautiful drives great and I didn't know you could paint it as well.

Its certainly not worth it to me. I can think of several cars that cost much less and outperform it. Now, if youre a diehard Ford guy or a lover of American cars MAYBE its worth it but if you have no bias, its not.

I believe cars like this keep the series alive. Next 20m car is the chromeline Jag.

I prefer the non-chromeline jaguar XJ13 as it is a more accurate version of the car - it feels lovely to drive in the game - better than the Ford MK4 and bringing it back on topic much better than the Ford GT40 MK1 Gulf livery car.

I would agree with Bakemono - it is the least good of all the 20 million credit cars in the game. I wouldn't call it an American car though - it's based on the Lola GT designed by Eric Broadley. Ford bought that project including the services of Mr Broadley. The fully American car is the MK4 - that was a completely new design.

The Ford MK4 is definitely worth 20m credits, but buy the Ferrari and Jaguar first as in the game they are better cars.

That money glitch was seriously the best thing that happened to this game.

Cobra Daytona Coupe is a fantastic car and the one I most wanted to be in GT6. Also you can paint it which has enabled me to do this!

unbelievably stupid of PD not to give this car an interior...

At that price you are certainly right!
