Like if I wanted to play a prank and make it whenever I typed in "the" it would change it to the?

I thought there was a way to do conditional formatting using styles but I can't find it, sorry.

It can be done with a find/replace but not automated unless you want to start getting into a macro but then it would need to be a commonly used keyboard combination, none of which I'd suggest.

You can go into the insert symbol option, and make it autocorrect a keystroke combination to a symbol from the insert symbol menu. Eg. every time 't' is typed, it will change to T or some random object of your choice.
No way to do font formatting though.

Well, learn something new every day.

Just checked it and it works with office 2010.

- Type/format text (what you want the corrected text to be)
- Highlight it
- File > Options > Proofing > Autocorrect
- Highlighted text should be in 'replace with' box
- Type in text to be corrected
