Heh - more anti-young stuff from Der Alta.

The website makes so many assumptions - I've heard countless references to every single one of these things in the last two years, let alone the last 18. If you've got any handle on events at all, you know about this stuff, no matter what your age.
 
Isn't it dangerous to use one's entire vocabulary in a single sentence like that, NOS?

I know about nearly all of that stuff and I was born in 1985!

Well, they both predate many people. Vinyl was not officially discontinued until 1989 or 90. Atari (which is basically synonymous with the 2600) was also around until the end of the decade. I grant you that Atari was already failing horribly in 1985, but they were still around.

The statement "You sound like a broken record" means nothing to them. (They have never owned a record player.)

Ever heard of a DJ? Many 18 and unders know what vinyl is, and many even own records.

They may have never heard of an 8-track tape. The compact disc was introduced when they were 1 year old.

Actually, US introduction was in 1983. Phillips put theirs out commercially in 1978.

Digital Audio Disc Committee also accepts Compact Disc Standard.

1982 Sony & Philips both have product ready to go.
Compact Disc Technology is introduced to Europe and Japan in the fall.

1983 Compact Disc Technology is introduced in the United States in the spring
The Compact Disc Group formed to help market.

30,000 Players sold in the U.S.
800,000 CD's sold in the U.S.

I'm hoping we get charles in charge of some moderator duties soon. emode has a link to a test that i think another site does, a real age test. i'm 26 there.

Yeah, but I have no doubt you'll make those necessary five posts.

By the way, I'm currently posting advertisements for porn and talking about doing illegal things - no, no - wait - those are actually restricted in the AUP (that's the last one, I swear)
