I just ( 11:50am) called EB in Poughkeepsie NY and they said, "It should be here any minute. You should be able to pick it up at 1 pm. Call back in a half hour".

He sounded very sure of himself ... I hope he's right.

I'm from Yonkers NY (15-20 miles south of Poughkeepsie)and the place I pre-ordered from (Software Etc.) told me that they will either get it later on tonight or tomorrow morning. I just came back from the store 15 miuntes ago. 👍

I have no classes tomorrow, so I'm just going to camp out at the store tomorrow until I get the game.

Why does anyone care about seeing the box? Correct me if I'm wrong, but we've known what it looks like for months haven't we? The oversized boxes in the stores, and the boxes on gaming websites - I figured it would look like that. *shrug*.

Well I just called 4 gamestops here in michigan, 3 grand rapids and 1 Mt. Pleasant.

All 3 said tomorrow.
I say 3 because one didn't bother to answer the phone.

edit: the 4th finally answered a call and... tomorrow!

it's kinda fun, isn't it, everyone is here chatting while wait to get thier hands on GT4 👍 , I have walmart, circuit city, Compusa, gamestop, EBgames, and Target all near my place, so I think I am getting it for sure without preorder, it's only the matter of time 💡

Evening before the Halo 2 release: Hundreds of people lined up at every Gamestop I drove by.

Last night: Nobody in sight.

Day of Halo 2 release: Target sold out of their allotment by 9:30 AM.

This morning at Target: Lady in the deserted electronics department said "Gran Turismo 4? Is that a new game? Let me check. No, nothing here. It's on my list, but we don't even have a release date on it."

I'm surprised. I thought GT4 would be a big deal to a lot of people. Halo 2's release was a cultural milestone by comparison...

I just went to my local GameStop and EB (Gainesville, FL). Eb says they'll have it at 4 pm. The girl even let me preorder it 5 minutes ago to pick it up today. She seemed pretty sure of herself. If she's lying she gets the receipt thrown in her face.

GS said they'd have it in tommorrow morning.

i think because halo 1 and 2 were released a short time apart and their online stuff. GT 3 was release back in 2001, so you know...

11pm here. After the mall is closed, GameStop will stay open for sales of GT4.

I just called EB...to ask about the quantity of pre-orders.. He said they got a shipment of 140 GT4 games..that they had 100 pre-orders and at the moment they have 40 games left over and were still getting pre-orders this morning.. They are being sold like hot pancakes.....


He said that every pre-order was going to be waiting for their owners no matter how long they took to pick up....

I told him i'd be ther at 4.. he said they wouldn't start the hand out till 5...........

Man...I have 5 more ours to start driving to Baybrook Mall...the wait !!!!!!!!

I've been playing GT1 all morning and reading this thread. I started out on licencese and golded all the B and A licences...I have to get some sleep for a while or I'd start working on IA golds. Ahh, memories. I'm keeping the phone by my head in case EB calls and gives the word.
