First off, the line about dead presidents made me laugh. Secondly, if movies and music albums are due out on Tuesdays, do you think they will be affected by the holiday? I've never heard of that happening. I suppose it's possible though.

According to Neon_Duke's post earlier, 2/22 is actually an ship date, not an release date. But as you said DVDs and CDs come out on Tuesdays. Anyone know what days the games are released? I buy mostly DVDs/CDs, so I don't know if PS2 games come out on Tuesdays like everything else? or........

Games are almost always on Tuesdays as well.

yea, i work at a retail store and basically everything comes out on tuesdays, movies, games, music, they all do

Ohhhh, I'm really confused now. Some say it won't hit the shelves until 23rd. According to the pattern of the retailers though, it should come out on Tuesday, the 22nd.
 
I'm waiting for Jedi to chime in - he has always stated that the 22nd is not the ship date, it is the date it is "released" to the public for purchase. I would just call around the night of the 21st and see if any place is planning on selling it on the 22nd. I know my gamestop is selling it on the 22nd, and I don't see how they would be able to get it so soon if it was shipped from california or new york or wherever it was made/entered the country.
 
Just saw this on a local forum:

'At work last night and i found something very interesting. We got a message from HQ stating that Gran Turismo 4 has NO STREET DATE! for those of you who don't work in retail, the street date is the day that we can actualy start selling the game.

With no street date, that means we can start selling the game the moment we get it in stock! may not even have to wait until tuesday!

So keep your eyes on a target in your area, because the instructions we got specifically said to put it on the rack the moment we get it. And it was a broad sent message, so every target in the region got it too.'
 
i was just at eb games and discussed it with the guy. he said that if i had the game pre-ordered it will be there for me the 22nd, at either 1pm, 3pm, or 6pm depending on the ship time. i don't know what that means for the non-preordered peoples. he also said he will call me once they find out an exact time.
 
I find it amusing everytime theres a big game release and people start trying to calculate when the game will be in their hands. Dont get me wrong I used to be the same way and its kind of fun to have so much anticipation for a game but its gotten so old of a routine that now I just either reserve a copy or place an order for it and wait for it to come in.

Id never believe what a game store employee tells you. its for the most part completely out of their control. even though UPS and Fed Ex or whoever are usually on a pretty good schedule, you can never tell when something is going to happen and they show up late or not at all. same goes for ordering online. once you place the order its out of your hands.
 
EB isn't getting theirs until the 23rd, and Gamestop said they won't get theirs until the late evening of the 22nd, ugh, more waiting!

well i just went with a friend so he can reserve a copy as well and we were 'told' pre-order people are able to pick it up monday morning (21st). now this could be just bs like i said before but who knows, could actually be right. this EB has never failed me before and hope that it doesnt this time.

edit: im talkin about an EB here in chicago if your wondering. hope this is true, if not 22nd more than likely. i bought robotech:battle cry there a day early on reserve and several other games so hope this is the same.

Yeah I saw that when I went in to pay off my preorder today. When I saw it I was like "Isnt it suppose to say the 22nd?". :odd:
 
Damn, that sucks, I'm busy all next weekend and would rather get it early next week. Oh well, as long as I own it Wednesday Night.
 
I only have one class at 6 PM on tuesday and **** those homework :odd: I am gonna "camp" in front of EBgames from 10 to 6 to get the game 👍 . i never count on Bestbuy or circuit city, they always one or two days late IMO.

Best Buy just told me they won't have it until Feb 23rd :indiff: , and I put in my pre-order with them. :yuck:
 
Yeah, same with EB. Gamestop's getting it in late in the day on the 22nd though, guess that's the best i'm gonna get :-/ I think i'm gonna check a few other local stores earlier in the day though, see if they got it in.

Yup, its true. My gamestop recieves it on the 21st too. They told me the same thing.
 
So what's the final word on GameStop? Will it be the 21st or the 22nd? The 21st is monday and that means that i'll be Presidents day so will Game Stop be open? :nervous: I shur hope I can get it on monday! :nervous: :scared:

Living at the southern end of Manhattan gives me many stores to choose from. I'll try a couple on the 21st - a day off of work - would be ideal if I could get then, or I'll pick it up on Tuesday or Wednesday.

I feel the need for speed. :dopey:

Actually, no delivery service deliver later in the PM, unless the store doesn't use major carriers. Most of the deliveries are done in the AM.
 
What time are your local stores saying they will have it on the 22nd? I'm thinking it would be when the store opens in the morning but I'm not sure.
 
22nd around 7pm at my gamestop but its in a mall soo it closes at 9. like all the other new games i buy i get it on a wednesday :)
