Just called the EB store near me and they just said that they will have it Tuesday at 6:00 PM and later, if you have it pre-ordered. It will be on shelves on wednesday. i guess the trucks dont come in till 6 or so. Thats fine anyway, i gotta work till 4:30 any way. SO EXCITED
 
I just got some good news from my GameStop, for a change..

He said they'll definitely have it on Tuesday. Either they'll wait for the shipment from UPS and have it around noon, or they'll send someone to Houston to pick up the shipment and have it ready when they open their doors. Which is definitely better than they usually do, since they have a habit of getting new games a day late. I wasn't expecting it until Wednesday. :)

He did recommend pre-ordering, though (which I've already done). He said "That way, you'll actually be able to get it", which tells me that they have a large number of pre-orders, and probably not that many "spare" copies to actually put on the shelf for walk-in customers.
 
Yeah, they told me they're gonna have someone pick it up from somewhere, and it'll be there by the afternoon/evening. Ahh well, i'm crossing my fingers for the local stores, lol.
 
For the vancouver folks, I just called EB Metrotown and they said they will have it at 10:30am on the 23rd and you can trade in 3 old games for the DFP lol.

Well there is probably some kind of catch to getting the DFP so go in stores to check out the details.

hey arent you in the B/CS area? if so which GS did you pre-order from? the people at both stores seem a little flakey to me and I never would have thought they would do something like go to Houston to pick up their shipment to make sure they get it on time. I think the reason its a good idea to pre-order is they probably wont get as many copies as they should. they seem to never get enough copies on some of the more significant titles though Im sure GT is kind of a top priority title.
 
I am so excited, because I just pre-ordered the copy of GT4 at EBgames today. When they asked me how much i want to put down as deposit, i said the whole thing, and so i paid $54.11. I just hope Feb 22 is the day I can pick up the game. What is lucky is that I dun have to work on Tuesday, so i can just go pick it up right after school. ^_^V

But the guy said it was coming out on the 23rd right? That's because that's what he heard from his store, when the store is carrrying them. If you don't get my point then i'm sorry but it's quite simple.

awesome! my gamestop said they'd get it late... like 9PM on the 22nd. Even said they would be open late to sell thier copies! :D

Different stores have different dates. Like my GameStop where I preordered it, it's going to be released on the 22nd. But at my local Best Buy it's hitting shelves on the 24th. See my point? ;)

Yes, I agree. I responded to Nbone's comment for the same reason. Someone else could easily post "it comes out on the 25th".

Yeah.. how'd you know where I live? hehe.

I ordered from the GS over on Freedom Blvd, across from the Wal-Mart (it's a lot closer than the mall). I forget the name of the guy I talked to on the phone.. started with an "S", I think. He did say that they'd have it in-hand no later than 11AM or so on Tuesday.
 
lets keep things civilized. these are good times. GT4 is coming out next week. :)

I'm going back to my local Software Etc. (Gamestop) on Monday to find out exactly when I can pick up the game. Last I heard it was 12-3pm on the 23rd, but the guy behind the counter looked like he didn't even know what he was talking about. :indiff:

He did say that it would arrive via FedEx and that I'd get a call the night before it arrives...
 
Me and bighap(another GTP member in Oregon) were going to check out the GT4 street date from the Sunday paper. Just for those who are interested, here's what was in it:

Toys "R" Us - Expected in March :lol:

Fred Meyers - no date

Fry's - 2/23 by 4PM

Best Buy - 2/24

Target - not even in the ad! :grumpy:

Fry's had an nice bundle of GT4/DFP, just like the one found in the other thread. It's GT4 & DFP for $149.98(after $20 mail-in rebate).

somehow I just remember one of your posts where you mentioned you were from the area. I remember the avatar more than anything.

ive got my copy reserved at the Freedom Blvd location too but probably wont get mine until after work either Tues or Wed. I guess if you post on here during the day saying that you got your copy then thats my cue to go pick it up that day!

I dont know how often you go into that store but maybe you noticed the DFP that was sitting on the floor for like a year. well Im the one who finally bought it. If I would have realized that was the same one that had been sitting there forever I would have tried to get a discount on it or something. I know I could have got it cheaper online but it was a very spontaneous purchase.

I remeber looking for NBA Live few years ago, right around the release, and every single major retail stores didn't have it. First game shop(Game Crazy) I walked into had shelf full of them.

I've only been in there a few times (took me a while to figure out there was a GS so close), but I think I remember seeing a DFP in there.

Driftmobiles? I've heard of pimpmobiles, but I'm no pimp. So don't ask me about them.

Next week is going to be something, people. Devoted GT fans will likely try to get the game betore another person b****slaps someone for the final copy. I didn't see any magazines up with GT4 covered (none recent, I mean), so I guess this will really be a love it or hate it game. I think GT veterans will still probably love this game regardless. I'd sure like to see a demo from PD showcasing Gran Turismo 4 on a demo disk. The last demo-only bit of a Gran Turismo game I've played was Gran Turismo 2. The GT2 demo featured Rome Circuit, and you had a choice between a Chevy Corvette, a Ford Mustang, and then some Class-B car I can't recall. I think there was also Rally with the Toyota Corolla Rally Car (one of my least favorite GT cars of all time).

PSM? EGM? GamePro? Hell, anybody? Hook us up with a demo! I can't wait to play this game!
 
I don't know about a demo disc this late........... I do remember the GT2 Demo you are talking about though.

I got tired of all the waiting, so I just went out to EB by my apartment, preordered the GT4(comes in Wednesday, 23rd). Then I went to the BestBuy and picked up the PS2 Bundle, that comes with the memory card and extra DS2.

I had 22nd and 23rd off to play the game, but I'm going to change it to 24th and 25th off instead. Make it an 4-day GT4 weekend!
