Man Ive been keeping myself posted By wlamrt.com. LMAO they have been sprayin release dates like a cat on a wall.

Best Buy wont have it until next week Thursday, and Circuit City wont have it until Friday or Saturday. Looks like the game stores are out-buying the mega stores.

That is going to suck. I was planning on going after school on Tuesday to buy it at Best Buy. I have a few questions...

Is it just your local Best Buy that is going to recieve it on Thursday or is it all the Best Buy stores?

Do you know anything about Wal-Mart? When are they going to have it?

I have mine reserved but the Best Buy close to me in Atlanta said I could pick mine up on Monday(21st). I guess the will have it on shelves Tuesday.

Me and bighap(another GTP member in Oregon) were going to check out the GT4 street date from the Sunday paper. Just for those who are interested, here's what was in it:

Toys "R" Us - Expected in March :lol:

Fred Meyers - no date

Fry's - 2/23 by 4PM

Best Buy - 2/24

Target - not even in the ad!

I live in the midwest and just finished reading the Sunday paper, our dates are the same. My local GameStop still has it down as the 23rd.

IMOA GT4 should work on any ps2 as long as the laser eye is clean.

I work at Target, and I was disappointed to not see it in the ad this week. However, it is officially dated as the 24th for us. The key factor being we were told it is NOT street dated, so as soon as we get it in, its going on the shelves.

I check the computer every morning to see if any store in the area has it. Since we got an item number for it, its been listed as "Original Item - No Stock On Hand" which means its just a number, we don't have product anywhere in the chain. I don't know how other Targets work, but mine gets shipments 5 days a week overnight. We also get a UPS shipment which is almost strictly books, movies, and video games every weekday. This comes anywhere between 11am and 4pm. Give you local Target a call every day this week in the afternoon to see if its in.

We got Halo 2 in a whole week early, so I have no idea when we could get GT4.
 
I just pre ordered my GT4 at the local EB store, i asked when i can pick it up and she said she wasnt sure, so she asked the manager of the store and he said the 21st !Just some good news for people with an EB store nearby, and hearing from the manager makes it seem even more possible! Oh yea, I also got a new skinny PS2 $50, all you have to do is bring in your old system and 2 games to trade in, i thought what a great deal so i ran home grabbed 2 old games i dont play unplugged my system and got a new one! wooohoo đź‘Ť

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. I think the only people who will be playing GT4 tomorrow will be game store employees and their loved ones. I say Tuesday and Wednesday for the rest of us.
 
Working at best buy I can tell you that the date in that ad is always wrong. They always put it a couple of days behind the release date so that if they have problems getting them to the stores they don't get a bunch of pissed off people. Now that said, we usually get them on they day of the release (Tuesday this time) that morning, from UPS. However, I wouldn't be suprised to see them come in on monday. And with no "steet date" they can be put up on the shelf at any time. I would call your local best buy on monday to see if they have come in.

2 PS2 Games + your old system and you get a new PS2? I thought the new slim PS2's were still sold out everywhere
 
all this european whining is uncalled for... do you realize that north america did not get prologue or concept?! we have been just playing gt3, no preview of gt4 at all. no demo discs except for at some auto shows and crap.. i think getting 2 extra games that we didn't get, and waiting 10 more days is not really bad. thank you for listening to my whining.
 
I wonder if its worth getting a new PS2 Slim and GT4, I mean... the Play Station 2 is how old? 7-8 years? Google isnt helping me.

I just feel that a Brand New PS2 Slim would play the game better then a release date +/- 6 months PS2.

Maybe its the part of me wanting the latest and greatest ;)
 
I am in the process of calling all of my local game stores and getting thier release dates:

Best Buy- Mid day Tuesday (glad I pre ordered there)
Gamestop- Tuesday Night, preorder only (unless they have extras)
EB- 23rd
Media Play- 23rd, might have it on the 22nd but no guarantee
Circuit City- 22nd (guy on the phone was like "wait a minute, is that a new release or something?" I'm like, yeah, it's not out yet... :rolleyes:
Wall Mart: I call them, I'm like "when will you have GT4?" the guy puts me on hold forever, then comes back and says "no we do not" and hangs up. A*shole. See if I ever go to Wal Mart again. đź‘Ž

Target: 22nd sometime, "hopefully"
 
Gamestop guy said tuesday also but didnt mention pre order only, i did not pre order since i did with GT3 but got it a day early from a different store(bestbuy over EBgames. and called into worl the same day :). I got no problem callng many sotres on tuesday but i'll stay tuend here just to see if anyone got it Monday(unlikely)

How many believe that GT4 will be out in Best Buy tommorow by 2:30 PM. Ha-ha. It better be - I am going to get it after school hopefully they will have it.
