You should read some of this thread.. the west-coast, midwest, east-coast Best Buy ad in the Sunday paper said - WEDNESDAY 23. BestBuy.com says the same thing.

That date is put out because thats the latest their gonna get it in. Their not gonna put out a nation wide sunday paper for BB and say its coming out on the 21st... If they did most of the stores would be filled with *****y customers complaining that the paper said it was coming in the 21st and its not there. Not all the stores get shipments at the same time. So the "safe date" is the 23rd.

Please don't get an attitude, I've worked at BB and I know how it works.

No, its just turbo thought that no one would get it before the 23rd. I was just telling him that there are going to be some people getting it earlier. He might wanna call his local BB store every 3-4hrs to see if its in.

About the GT4+DFP for a 20 dollar gift card... If its in their add then yea its true. I no longer work there so I don't keep up with all the specials they are running.

It was in the ad yesterday. You have to buy GT4 and the DFP wheel on the same receipt to get the $20 gift card.

I check the two EBGames and two GameStops in my area and they all said it'll be on the shelved Wed morning. They all also said that they're getting more than enough copies, nearly twice what they have preorders for.

It's really stupid that any store wouldn't have at least 2 to 3 times as many on hand as they have preoders for! What do they think might happen....................that they wouldn't sell? Every single release of previous GT's has sold like mad and they never have enough to fulfill the demand on the release date.
 
Ok so I am back from Best buy and your probably wondering if I got it or not... well the truth is... they do have it! but... they didn't sell to me because I wasn't pre-order and... to top it off.. I had to talk to several of the employess, telling them whe I called the person said different.

Turns out the guy that told me over the phone... made a mistake. There is "will be" two stacks. One for pre-order and one for none-preorder. the pre-orders are in already and if you have the preoder you can get. Its all messed up, so basically I got a shame for my hope over the phone. Found out the one I talked to messed up but they do have but I can't get because I am not pre-ordered and the non-pre-order aren't here... I think this management is very miss-leading.. I am going to call the other BB around me and see what they say... afterall like I said... its all up to the store manager on how they want to run their inventorie. Blah!

I talked with the storemanager since she was the only one there. I told her what BB did and she was so nice, she gave me the strategy guide for free! so I am still getting the game sometime tomorrow afternoon for pre-orders but she is throwing in the guide for me for free instead of just a "20%" off. She made my day :)

Also just another thing, Tekken 5 should be out sometime this week or Monday of next week at gamestop (for those ppl into Tekken ^_^ )

Well, I have called my BB 4 times now. I got the same girl everytime, telling me 23rd-25th. Argh, I'm not giving up yet... Maybe I will stop in later and see if I can talk to the manager or something.

not sure when the exact date it was released; however, the gamestop I went to had it. She told me she just got it yesterday though. I guess Sony is releasing the guide a bit before the game but not all stores will have it because when I was at BB. They didn't have it, they said they will get it maybe this week or next week so everything is just a variable since shippment can by funny to stores and the stores can be manage differently (funny also)

BB didn't have it, its prolly coming in with the same truck as GT4... Called EB and they said not till this weekend

I just went to Gamestop Saturday and they said the strategy guide is delayed until March...

I've never seen so many inconsistencies for a game's release in my life..and now it's passed down to the strategy guide...too funny :crazy:

Yea, it pisses me off when we go to a different page because I haven't found how to go back yet.

Did what I tell you even sink in?

Since there is no street date for GT4, BB will sell it whenever they get it in. I find it hard to believe that somehow every single BB store will recieve this game the morning of the 23rd. Again, the sunday paper's date was a safe bet, if it comes in earlier at your local store, BB will sell it to you because there is no street date for GT4.

Whats so hard to understand about that?

first post here, and don't want to start a new thread for a small question. i'm new to the whole video game pre-ordering thing (gt games are all i have my ps2 for) and i just went to my local shop (eb games) and put down the pre ordering bounty. the guy gave me the receipt and said he'd give me a call when it came in. it says everywhere that the game "ships tomorrow", does that mean i should be expecting a call tomorrow or do they have to wait for it to be shipped to them (possibly more than a few days of waiting?). thanks. sorry for the n00b question.
