If you're that bored of the game then even if an update brings you back, you'll just lose interest again after a couple of weeks. There won't be any major changes now.

Trying to. Get a msg every now and then asking to play though... Sony is seriously getting on my nerves. All the PSN nonsense, the time intakes for them to restart a video game server, and the lack of quality for services that do nothing but drain money from millions of credit cards (the store and all the errors), and their video game developers don't even inform the millions of players that bought the game about what's going on...

Damn video games. They're more trouble an they're worth.

U make it more complex.

The server issue is due to hackers, not Developers informing you.

Hacks and the net go together. You have video games online, you already know hacks will be attempted. Sony sucks at online gaming, sucks at running an online store, and sucks at running a video game company. It's just a total failure at quality. The worst in decades, for video games.

GT5 is a cool game, but they really ought to let us know what's on their upgrade schedule. Or that the game will no longer be supported. It's a disservice to fans to say nothing about the current work on the game.

I dont even know know how to respond to ur comment so ill let u think about it and then reassess it.

PS gain some prior knowledge

I play only a couple of times a week now, I hope something is in store, maybe endurance saves so I can finish the game so to speak. I've been levels 40/40 a couple of months now. I am bored of the A spec, hopefully more is on the way for in the upcoming update.

He made it simple he just wants to know as a customer and someone who purchased the game or in other words a consumer. What he's getting for the money he spent. Thus he's looking for what they plan to update on this game all together. See kind of like when your car has a defective part or needs a part improved so the manufacture informs the consumer once again what they need to do to get it fixed or how it will be reworked. Same thing here he just wants an update on what they plan to fix or revamp next instead of it always being a surprise, and possibly a map out of what is to come. If you cant understand that simple concept mr. game maker I dont know how you put your pants on one leg at a time.

Meanwhile back at the OP...

I keep the game fresh (for me) by racing different cars at different levels. And, the seasonals help too.

The best way to not get bored by GT5 is to just stop playing and get into a different game.

If in the future you do ever play GT5 again, update or not, it will feel fresh, but will soon become boring again.

That's just how GT5 seems to be. Such a shame too as I used to play GT2-4 for hours a day, everyday, and never got bored with them.

I agree with the guy that said that developers should let us know what the schedule for updates is. I don't get the secrecy. Isn't it better to just tell us. Hey in 2 weeks we will release an update that adds this and that instead of letting us wait with no info at all. People will only get their hopes up and start making wishlists of what should be in the next update and half of them are dissappointed with the update when it finally is released and start making wishlists for the next update.

I'm not holding off on gt5 until the update. I think the game is still great and updates will only make it better!

Im not holding off because I'm bored. I'm holding off because I got busy with other things. I also decided if I finish a project first, I can go back to the game. So if whether I finish a project, or the update comes, whatever comes first, I'll play it.

I agree with BarronGeddon... if it's going to take an update to re-interest you in GT5 then you're probably wasting your time anway...

I gotta disagree to an extent. What if they don't release the update on time?
It really would be in our best interests to tell us the contents of the update, but if you think about it, why build all that anxiety up knowing something's coming for sure and having to wait for it? Although, it'd make sense for them to tell us the contents of the update, now that the next update is so close.

People shouldn't blame Kaz for telling us an update is close to being released, due to the circumstances and how long it has been since Feb 18, the last major update. And it's been 2 months since a track glitch fix.

That's a really good analogy, but I find a fault in it. Difference is, update or not, GT5 will still run as is. If GT5 keeps freezing and it hasn't gotten any better and they can fix that, then that'll make the analogy complete. I do get your point though. 👍

Keep forgetting to combine my posts, sorry guys.

At least, you're not bitching about it. 👍

Brown pride!, by the way. 👍

Sort of, I needed a new 'car' game to play since PSN was out and had nothing to do in GT5 'till the next update, anyway. So I went out and bought Forza 3 Ultimate Edition, and I gotta say, it's a pretty good game. I'm convinced to buy Forza 4, especially with the new profile transfer thing.

Of course, it's a good game. FM4 should be better. My main gripe about it, though, is that it's soooo arcadey. They flaunt "Sim", but hell no. :grumpy:

The gaming side of it is good.

Yup... still holding out (for the next update) since the PSN downtime. At this rate i may never play GT5 again. Let's go PD.

For about 2 weeks, I was cutting back, too. Because I was busy occupying my time doing something else, it meant I didn't have to worry about playing. Also, felt like I needed a break from Course Maker and Practice.

Now, I'm back on the train.

I switch back and forth between GT5 and Shift 2. The latter does almost everything right that the first does wrong and vice versa. They complement eachother quite nicely, and that keeps me interested in both. 👍
