I've had Comcast High Speed Internet since I got my PC:cool: One MB takes about 5.6 sec:) Compared to others, it's fantastic:D:D

DSLReports is giving me 2.7 MB downstream and only 75 kbps up... :( Well, that's still unbelievable compared to my 56k, so I'm not complaining!

and if you plan on downloading stuff DON'T use kazaa, use winMX.
Interesting you should say that...I have been noticing how slow Kazaa can be some times (I think mostly due to the fact many people have limited their upload speed). WinMX transfers tend to go faster?

it is indeed superior, and if you know how to play it right it is far faster than kazaa. but the plain fact is winmx has no ads or spyware like kazaa, and the userbase is ALOT better.

that's the only p2p i use nowadays...

I see...I'm going to give it a try. :)

I just finished downloading and installing WinMX. Haven't used it yet, though.:)

use Morpheus

mine sucks. i got cable, but i don't have enough cash for the 1meg connection, so i got a 256kb connection. it's fast enough for me right now, but i plan on going up......MUAHHAHA

Nice speed, Jordan! It's just a tiny bit better than mine! What's your upstream? Mine's 287.8 at 5:50 in Central, so it's about 6:50 Eastern. I'm also from the Mid West, so it's kind of less dense here than the East Coast.

Oops, I just read it's not accurate for connections faster than DialUp. Oh well, I've uploaded to one server at 60KB/s before, I think that's good...

My downstream jumped dramatically the second time I ran the test(first time was about 2.xMB/s, second was 4.3MB/s. I don't think it's accurate after the first test...

Anyway, congrats, man!

Thanks rjensen. :) After a little investigating (and personal experience...), I have discovered that although Adelphia PowerLink has no downstream cap, it does have an upstream cap of 128 kbps. However, I usually upload at around 70 kbps. I'm not complaining, though - I used to upload at a maximum of 2 kbps! :yuck:

First off, I can't believe I took this long to congratulate you on your on your new connection, once you have it, you'll never go back to modem. You'd rather be without a connection then to try and endure a 56k connection. Now that your on your bandwidth bandwagon, perhaps I could open up a little can of worms....:D

How about larger avatar file sizes? 😈

What say you?

You call that a "little" can of worms?! :scared: I figured someone would bring that up sooner or later...but the answer is still "no". :p

, that's what I figured, but it was worth a ask anyhow....:) Maybe if we had a rally of some kind advocating larger avatar file sizes? A GTP Riot? :fdevil:

Just kidding...., I totally understand the reasons..

Well there you have it folks, no smoother avatar's than what we already got! No more colors, and no more FPS that what we already got, which I must add is a very generous amount seeing as how bandwidth comes out of Jordans personal pocket and we can all enjoy a "lightning speed" site to post at for ALL users!

Ah, a riot...now that would be one way to ensure that you got smaller sizes. ;)
