I've finally got a CABLE MODEM!!!!!!!

Jordan, if you really want to test your connection speed multiple times, so that way you can take an average, and if you want to accuratley check your upstream, try www.dslreports.com

I have cable, and my tests have shown around 1.7mb/s for downstream at good hours. My best was something like 2.1mb/s(which my cable provider[Time Warner's Road Runner] says we get up to 2mb/s), so there's definatley different speeds per testing place. There was one server where it said my speed was 700kb/s! Whoa! That would REALLY suck for claiming you have BroadBand, if that was your actual speed, that is...

I hadn't noticed their connection diary...I'll have to give that a shot. :cool: Right now I'm getting 3281/115 kbps from their servers!
 
Oh, and here is my connection.

I want cable, good thing is I heard s it only 25 bucks a month now here. But my parents don't care about connection speed, so I'd probably have to pay the idfference if we got it, so I can live with 56K a while longer
