GTPlanet, hello again.

What are some of Japan's most beautiful cars?

I'll start.

I think the Nissan Silvia Spec-R Aero (or as I hear, the latest 200SX). I think this car is elegant. This car comes in at 246hp, and rear-wheel drive. I'm not really a fan of low or little headlights, but this car has elegant headlights. This car doesn't look fast, it's more elegant. And I think it looks best in either silver, or one of my favorite non-car colors, blue. From the sides, it is nice to look at as well. The only throwoff MIGHT be the back lights. But other than that, and oh yes, the rear wing is very stylish as well. You want to talk about cars with "show, but no go," you might be eating your words when you see this car. And oh, did I mention this car is turbocharged?

Another car I'd fill in the blank with is the Z cars. Besides the 350Z of today, I think the Datsun fastbacks with the exotic-looking headlights can outstyle almost anything on the road. When I seen the Toyota 2000GT in a Road and Track magazine, I thought it was pretty nice. When I played it in Gran Turismo 2, I thought it was a nice car to race out of the used car section (for almost 200,000 Cr, mind you!). But when I think about it, the Toyota 2000GT looks very stylish despite it's a car from the 1960s or 1970s. I think it is more beautiful than the Datsun Z cars (240, 260, 280...). The cars are vintage artwork.

What are some of Japan's most beautiful cars? You're free to express.

i have to say it....Nissan R34 GTR in Bayside blue

You say you like blue Silvias???
**WARNING: shameless self-promotion below.**

And I agree, the older 240Z's with blackout headlamps look very dominating. Especially if they have a Chevy small block swap.

Toyota 2000GT
Mazda RX7 (FD3S)
Honda NSX (with pop up headlights)

I have to say I always found the R32 Skylines to be the best looking of the GT-R family, while on the subject.

The S15 Silvia is definitely the most beautiful car ever made in Japan. The FD RX-7 is a very close second.

I'm not sure why anybody mentioned Skylines in a thread about "beautiful cars."

Silvias=Beauty
Skylines=Beast
:D

To me, I like to think of the Silvia and the Skyline as two different cars in two different worlds. To me, I think the Silvia S15 isn't really a baby Skyline, it is a beautiful car that is rear-drive. I'm sorry, but I think the Skyline is more of a powerhouse. It's got a lot of muscle. The JGTC variant can be pretty lovely, however. Still muscular, but nice to see zip around Japan and Malaysia.

I am not a huge Nissan fan, but the newer cars I'm kind of having respect for. The Datsun Zs are still pretty lovely. I think if the 350Z had styling like the older Z cars, but at the same time have a total remake like the Shelby Cobra from earlier this year, then I'd have a bit more respect for the 350Z. The 350Z kind of looks like a Porsche from the sides. The front makes it look more like a... dare I say, Skyline. But the 350Z = beautiful? I think so. But the Datsun Zs are still king.

Now for the rotary fans. The RX-7s of 1993 and older are pretty nice as well. They still have some grunt, but you ever think about how they tend to look aerodynamically? The RX-7 is pretty nice itself, but I consider it to be a lovely car of our day, but not all time, in my view.

Hmmm, there are a few classic designs that came out of Japan...

- Yamaha OX99-II
- FD3S Mazda RX-7
- Nissan Silvia S15
- Honda NS-X
- Toyota 2000GT

there is suprisingly (to me anyway) alot of intrest in the Toyota AW11 (aka 1st gen) MR2, personaly i think it looks like a door wedge but thats just me

1. FD3S RX-7
2. Acura NSX
3. Z32 300ZX
4. MKIV Supra

There are very few things in life that you will not get tired of seeing / hearing. I will never grow tired of these four cars.

R34 GTR :drool: I mean look at it, it just looks so aggressive, the headlights angled so they look like the car is angry, the vents ,carbon fiber underbody diffusers and an elegent strip on the rear spoiler. It just looks so mean. I never understood why anyone would put a bodykit on the thing.

Both the original NSX (preferably white with a black top) and the FD RX7 are very good looking cars. Right now I like the RX7 better, but I go back and forth between the two.

I also like the 4th and 5th generation Civic hatches quite a lot, that would be 1988-1995. Also, the mk1 MR2s:

I like the NSX with a widebody kit, and the Subaru SVX too. Such a weird car, it's cool. Gotta love those windows.
