OKay, I just ran the race again simply because it's so much damned fun (thanks Viper!) I'm probably going to submit this one, so here are my pics and write up
The Field:

Toyota RSC Rally Car 02

AMG Mercedes 190 E Evol

Lancia Delta
This is one pain in the ass car ... fastest on the field by far

Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car 97

Subaru Imprezza Super Touring Car 01

Me
I started quickly ... keeping the pressure on, but only really intending to overtake underneath the bridge ... i knew I could catch all the cars through any corner, but they left me stranding on the straights which pretty much ruled out drafting for an overtake.
However, half way through the first lap I see that I'm faster getting into the first lefthander and cut in before him ...
Garaiya under braking Subaru early on in the first lap.
Getting behind the FTO, battling with him for the remainder of the lap ...
Battling with the FTO
Until I decide to slingshot off the hairpin and charge down the straight faster than him...
Hurtling down the main straight ...
At this point I'm 4th and the Lancia is 1st ... and pulling away.
Battling with the 3rd placed car ... the Mercedes
In third place with the 2nd placed Toyota Rally car and 1st place Lancia in front of me
I finally managed to underbrake the Toyota at the end of the starting straight on lap 3 ... second place!
But the Lancia was pulling away all the time ... I could run faster on the first half of the track, but after that he'd pull out an additional 2 seconds everylap and there was nothing I could do about it ... I just had to pray that he'd make a mistake.
Six laps later and I'm still chasing him ... but the gap is a whopping 17.7 seconds and just getting bigger all the time ... and then I see it ... he's come off the the S-curves!
He ended up facing the wrong way, then cut back across the track and came off again as he tried to gain grip ... all the time I'm hurtling down on him!
By the time he got going again ... the gap was just 4.5 seconds!
My strategy was to pit on laps 11 and 22 ... the last time I came up against this guy he didn't pit until lap 18 ... so I was fully expecting to lose this gap all too quickly, but I really pushed after him and amazingly kept the gap close until lap 11 when I made my scheduled stop ... and mazingly he pulled in right before me!!!
I was praying that I could get out before him, but we pulled out almost at the same time, straddling the Mercedes ... I'm now in 5th, the Lancia is in 3rd.
Pulling out of the pits ... the Mercedes can be seen on the right
Positions 3rd, 4th and 5th
At this stage I'm not too concerned ... the other cars are going to have to pit soon, all I had to do was stay in touch with the Lancia and I had a shot at this thing. I got past the Mercedes easily enough and then the Lancia and I started battling it out over lap 12 ...
I finally got him by underbraking at the end of the main straight after the hairpin, which left the FTO in 1st, me in 2nd and the Lancia in 3rd after the other cars started their pitting.
1st, 2nd & 3rd!
On lap 13 I took the lead for the first time, but I have the Lancia breathing down my neck at only .6 seconds behind ... it's going to be a very tough fight! We fight for the 13th and 14th laps, even changing places occassionally, when he makes a mistake and careens off in the Chicane on the home stretch ... I was now 7 seconds ahead!
Well he must have pushed it too hard, because on lap 15 he comes off again at the same point as lap 9 ... the last part of the S-Curves ... and now I'm 17.5 seconds ahead of the 2nd place car.
By lap 17, though, he's gaining again ... clearly he has found his groove ... and with just 15.8 seconds between us I wonder how long I can keep him at bay. On lap 18 I hit the chicane all wrong and the gap closed to 13.8, and just as I was cursing my lack of concentration he came off himself and the gap was back up to 23.8 seconds! With this I could possibly pit and still come out ahead.
On lap 21 he pitted ... one lap before I intended to myself ... and by the time I follow suit I come out 19 seconds ahead of him and pulling away.
In the end I took the checkered flag over a minute ahead of the rest of the field and even bearing down on the back of the field threatening to lap them.
