"Koly, Koly ... if I may grab you before you head to the showers ..."
Kolyana, the rookie Brunette with more than a passing fancy for Purple cars and kittens, stops in her tracks. It's been a long day at Midfield, where she has been running many hours of intense hotlaps with her coach, mentor and sparring partner "Jump_Ace" Jerome. It had been a good day, much progress had been made on her speed, but it had been hot out there and they don't tend to fit JGTC cars with air conditioning.
As she dragged off her helmet and shook loose her hair, it was obvious that she had worked up a sweat ... but more than this, her features were etched with a deep level of concern not typical of the English woman. Anger? Yes, and often mirth and a crazy smile as she laughed with her fellow drivers ... but today she looked somewhat sullen and even resigned.
She wiped the back of her head with a towel as she stepped towards the reporter. She knew what was coming.
"So, Kolyana, heard you had a great time at Midfield today, but what's with your infamous partner and lead driver of Team 2fast4u?"
There was a slight and yet perceptible roll of her eyes as she squinted towards the baking sun, only to return her stare back to the reporter. You could tell that the slightly built man from Losi Television expected a famous "Kolyana Outburst", but this time she was quiet ... meek even.
"I ... ", she seemed to struggle to find the words, losing the reporters eyes for a moment and glancing down to the ground. "I'm not sure what to say," she continued, "when I was drafted into Team 2fast4u I was somewhat intimidated and yet highly excited ... the prospect of racing alongside 'hOt604bOi' was a dream come true and I knew that it would push me to race harder than I have ever raced before. I also had great hopes for the team in general ... I think our manager was lucky to grab such a raw talent and I had no illusions that the GT500 part of our team would be taking a podium almost every week. With 'hOt' heading us up, I guess I always expected us to be up there in the points and perhaps I could make a difference and tip it a little more in our favor."
She paused and continued to wipe her face, clearly gathering her thoughts.
"So," the reporter pressed, "what happened?"
There had been rumors of drunken parties over at the "hOt Estate" and his penchant for "racey women" was legendary. Maybe he couldn't drag himself away from the bottle and shapely curves of his fans? Maybe stardom had got to him and the bubble had finally burst?
Kolyana sighed just slightly and dabbed her neck, answering almost in an absent minded manner.
"He ran out of fuel."
There was a moments silence as Kolyana's simple words settled in and she started to walk away, lightly tossing the towel over her shoulder and swinging her helmet at her side.
She stopped and turned.
"Oh, and he was so mad at himself that he sought solace in the arms of ... " she paused and looked heavenwards in deep thought, " ... of 'Trixie' ... some ... um ... floozy from 'The Pink Pu$$y Club' downtown. Apparently it has a good atmosphere, you should try it."
"Apparently, Trixie's infamous private party trick takes a little time, because 'hOt' was somewhat preoccupied as the deadline for our first race came and went."
The reporter considered his words carefully.
"You .. you must be somewhat upset?" he ventured.
"No ... " the English girl began, "a little disappointed to perhaps be knocked out of the championship so early on, but I'm sure my teammate received quite the show. I always
did wonder what Trixie's specialty was ... so maybe he'll tell me all about it."
She paused.
"In between me running laps, of course"
