JGTC S1 Round 1 Race + Results

I really dont want to sound like a sore loser but I am still trying to figure out why I was soo much slower. I ran h/m it was a 3 stop race for me and in the final stint i ran m/s.

Could my tire choice caused me to lose that much time?

maybe this just wasnot a good combo for me?

maybe the car is not as competative as the others?

any help would be appreciated

Aside from any outside influences I'll say that S2K wasn't very competitive. I've ran a test qualifier in the same car and was still not close to the top GT300 qualy times.

That's all I can give you right now.

It seems I ran a totally different set of tires than everyone else. I shall have to rethink my strategy. But not until after some more math. whoooo.

Also, eatsviperswithanicekiyanti, when are you going to show us the revised hp and weights so we can start qualifying with the right numbers?

@speedy: thanks 👍 I didn't see any comments either way, and these things usually attract some replies so I figured no one liked it :( :sly:

On the pitting strategy, I ran...hang on, you guys aren't on my team... *looks around for Ev0* :D

Great first Race meeting for the JGTC 2005

Fantastic entertainment everyone, the race discriptions, photos and related stories all good fun. Think this is shaping up as a great series 👍 .

Congrats to the podiums in both classes

Team Shxxxt! happy to leave here with some points :
GT 300 strategy -- Hards all round stopped lap 11 , 22 for Hards both stops

See Ya'll at Midfeild

Okay I'm an ImageShack noob so I thought I'd give it a shot. Here (hopefully) is a pic of my lap 2 wiggle recovery.

Getting out of shape in the early stages

Congratulations to all podium and not only podium ;) finishers. Kenny and speedy - great txt :P

My strategy was simple as that: Using Racing Soft tires all the way, pited in laps 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25. I was hiting 1'41´s all the time, just in the pit in and out laps that not coz u lost time but the rest was all 1'41´s, just once i got distracted and did 1'42.2 but didn´t hurt my final time that much. :D

I think i could shave 4 seconds at max, not further.

Looks like you got some help for round 2,TLR

WOW a Subaru won?? Nice driving BARBOL, what stratagies did you use? Tires, pits, etc.?
Will have to take that car for a spin to look more closely at it, did not think that car was going to give me that kind of race.
ARG - WHAT?? NO REV. LIMITER!!?? No wonder its so fast  lol

Congrats to all the podium finishers 👍👍

That would be my guess. You're the only one in it, so it's hard to have something to compare to, but you said you had a good line around the track and felt you were going fast.

Hopefully some weight off will keep you out of last place in round two.

I felt R4 offered more grip and warmed up faster, which was worth the extra pit stop.
I had a simliar idea. I started on R3's to try to avoid falling behind the leader early. It's actually the reverse of Kolyana's tire strat.

L01 - R3's (got fastest lap on lap 6)
L08 - R2's
L19 - R2's

Very interesting! I would've thought fewer pits would always be faster, but I guess saving 3 seconds off each of 10 laps (very possible with the difference between R2's and R5's) is equal to a pit. So if you can shave off more than 3 seconds then you're getting ahead.

Yeah, I got lucky. Without the two DNF's I would certainly be in last place. Steve, nice job kicking it up a notch to 9th! (from a 10th place qual).

Rob23 OD'ed on no less than 16 prescription drugs. Strangely enough, these included Viagra, Zoloft, Viatrex, Vialoft, Zoagra, and some erectile dysfunction chewable tablets.

ahahahahahahahha

It's in a earlier post

Not too earlier in fact, you would have to read the thread before ask :grumpy:

:D

I suspect that my tire strategy was all wrong ... but I have no idea what everyone else was doing, so I'm firmly going to be continuing my error into the following races! :p

Next race I won't do the same mistake and only try the race on one tire combo, I'll run with softer compound also to see if my time improves.

Oh btw my pit strategy was :

- Started with RH-RM combo
- Pitted Lap 10 to keep the RH-RM combo
- Pitted Lap 20 same again

Pit and tire stratagy - ran mediums front and rear, pitted at end of lap 10 and 20, the fronts wore out about then (orange). Ran an average time of 1'55.xxx. Started out agressively after the AI and had 4 passed by the first lap, ran fast and clean as i could, caught the back markers with about 8 laps to go and had to work around them. Oh well, at least i'm in the points - will never complain about taking second  :sly: .

Hmm i forgot to say that I used Yokohama tires :D
I love that old Yokohama commercial .... :D

@ small fryz

im thinking i would have got a 53'30.xxx

my strategy was running on hard tires 3 pit stops
doing laps all in the 1'45.000 range

Excellent race everyone, I love the little backstory we've got going on here! Keep it up!

I'm very satisified with my times though, considering I had only until Thursday night to race. I'm sure I could have shaved off at least 15 seconds off of my time with some work, and I know for a fact I could have done a better fast lap, probably a 1'45.8

Excellent series so far, I'm really getting into this.

Wow  , 10 laps with mediums, Celica must be really delicate with the tyres

I ran 10 laps on RH-RM all race long, if I put RM-RM it's even less. Amemiya might be one of the fastest in pure speed (hotlap) but it's not in real race situation because of it's tire consumption. The Cusco can destroy me any day of the week.

I, with the Cusco, can't do 10 laps with mediums either
