STATS CORRECTION TOOK PLACE, LOOK CAREFULLY BEFORE RACING

The top three finishers of a race will be required to carry additional weight upon competing in the subsequent race. In the situation where these weight-augmented vehicles fail to finish in the top four, their accumulated weight will be reduced by 2% for both GT500 and GT300.

Never ever suppose you should have less weight and go to take it off. The numbers I'm giving before each rounds are the ones you should use at all times. Always thrust my values.

Everything is up and done...dammit I'm almost of the edge of exhaustion and can barely see my screen.

*runs away and jumps in bed*

a question about the track in the tunnels, Do we stick inside the white lines or can we stick to any of that paved surface?

@viper: I was violently ill from eating too much sushi during round 1, so I've lost about 12 kilos. Can I drop the weight penalty and split the difference? :D

I have a question. You have figured out new figures for the cars, but do we count our weight penalties and handicaps as well for this round? Anyone who finished 5th and lower is supposed to drop 2% weight. Do I drop that for this qualifying session or just the race?

Japanese Grand Touring Championship
Round 2 - Midfield Raceway

After an exciting first round to this year's championship action moves to the Midfield Raceway circuit here in the UK. A fairly technical track, Midfield combines high-speed cornering with some tight and deceptive turns, and one of the longest main straights on the calendar. Some alterations have occurred since last year, most notably the tightened entry into turn 3 which will see lower speeds into the tunnel than in previous years.

Slayer Racing's ZeratulSG is no stranger to this place. During his days as a test driver for various major car manufacturers Midfield Raceway was their primary test track. Having logged several hundred hours here, his confidence for this, his first JGTC meeting at Midfield, is understandably high.

"I love this track and know it very well," comments the driver. "It's a very fast course, we spend a lot of time at 100% throttle here. Overtaking in the turns can be difficult, I think turns 1 and 2 provide the best opportunity, but I'm feeling very confident coming here. Both cars are strong and the team are very motivated, so we'll be looking for a strong finish on Sunday."

Team 2fast4u are looking to recover from last week's refueling debacle in the GT500 class, but as expected hot604boi is looking very competitive this morning in free practice, having recovered quickly from his near-fatal stabbing by GT300 teammate Kolyana. No charges have been pressed.

As the teams make adjustments prior to tomorrow's second free practice and Wednesday's qualifying, weather reports indicate we should be in for a sunny week of racing.

Hot cars. Hot action. Hot weather. JGTC Round 2 has it all.

Round 2 of the Japanese Grand Touring Championship moves to Midfield raceway this week. This 3.56 kilometre course features some tight corners after some very long, and fast straights. If week 1 at Motegi was any indication this year's series should be quite the spectacle. Everyone remembers the drama from week 1. Crowd favourite Hotboi running out of gas on the final lap, then having to deal with an irate teammate and Rob23's overdose prior to the results party. Everyone seems to have recovered as we watch them take their cars through the paces.

Speedy_samurai, driver of the #18 Takata Dome NSX, has just finished his practice session and is sitting in the shade in his garage drinking a large orange slurpee. We managed to spend a few minutes speaking with him.

"Speedy, what do you think about Midfield?"

"It's a very fast track. I would say faster than last week. There are some corners I am not comfortable with yet, particularly the more exaggerated S bend leading up to T1. The walls are very close to the tarmac so you have to be constantly aware of where you are or it's crash city. It should be a good race, as always."

"And how is your car performing on this track?"

"There are still some issues we need to address. The car tends to get a little squirrely just after T2. I will need a few more practice laps to iron out the wrinkle The Bridgestone'S are gripping well, which is to be expected."

"Your teammate, Studentdriver, also finished 7th last week in the GT300 class. Was that a surprise for you?"

"Not really. He had a great run in the practice race, but there are no points awarded for that. Now that everything counts everybody means business. We aren't at the bottom of the standings so I am satisfied."

"Do you have anything you would like to say to your fans?"

"Bring lots of water. It will be hot!"

Hey speedy, looking at your sig I have to ask, what the heck would compel you to run 100 laps of Complex String? :odd: :)

Lol my car is becoming too underpower. 💡 :scared:

Due to weight penalty and air restrictions, my Team manager decided to put me on the track as earlier as possible, so we could have more testing runs.

I had some problems with Michelin tires as i almost got totalled in First corner of Motegi, on Friday practice, so we decided to change to bridgestone for this race, and see the overall results.

Well, time to go to track, 2 min remaining to start the practice 01. :) :dopey:

Just had my first session, set a nice time. Now just have to drive hard to beat it.

havent had a chance to drop my Mobil 1 NSX here yet..got alot of things to do plus gonna run a 24hr sarthe race so tommorow all day id prolly have time to run a bunch of laps..

AARRGG - New i shouldn't have stopped at McDonalds last night for dinner, those two big mac's made me FAT, gained about 2% in weight. Man my team manager is screeming mad about it too, he said it will cost me about .25 to .5 second a lap, which will hurt my qualifying time and my total race time as well. :dunce:  :yuck: :sly:

This has always been a fun track to run on, very fast and smooth

Where is EATS going to putting the Team and Individual standings at??

I thought you made a chart - and forgive me if I'm wrong - that said if you finish in 5th or less in GT300 you get a -2% weight reduction.

I finished at 6 place and i have still weight 1100 (normal) not 1100-2% so for example driver A had penalty +2% after race one qualifications cos he was first after those qualifications, in topic with race 2 qualifications you gave him penalty +3 % so now he must run with penalty +5 % or +3% ? Or from the other heand when race #one ends we dont care about any penalties or bonuses from round 1 (quali and race) but we ONLY look at tabel in the first post of round 2 when eats says : driver a has +2% kg so hi ads +2% to his default kg not kg from round 1...
Thats little bit confusing but i hope everyone understood my thoughts...

For The Love Of God Stop Asking If You Get -2% Weight Reduction! You Cannot Go Under Your Default Weight You Started The Season With, Only Weight-Augmented Vehicules (Weight Gained From Podium Finish) Can Loose Some Weight Back.

I think waht eatsviper is trying to say, that you get weight taken off if you finish 5th or lower ONLY IF You had a weight penalty from a previous performance, so that would include the top three finishers in each class,so far....if any of them finish in 5th or worse, THEN they get a 2% reduction in their weight penalty for the next round.

Did I understand that right, eatsviper?

I thought thats how it was, anyway, just trying to clarify so everyone understands it.

Cool, just making sure, everyone seemed to have a little misunderstanding about that, thinking that if you finish worse than 5th, then you get 2% taken off no matter what...but I get it,just wanted to clarify.

Thaks eatsviper:tup:

lol I must have been writing that ,while you posted yours.:)

Does that mean I get to have a 2% weight reduction, since I got it right?

LOL .. J/K

Yay, more power for me! I'll definitley run some laps later tonight, I haven't even got my PS2 unpacked at the moment! (I was at my cottage if anyone is wondering)

Sussex, UK. This is Kenny Schabow for LosingTV, where we give you the hottest updates on the ugliest drivers.

We find ourselves this week at Midfield raceway, revered for it's easiness to learn yet hardness to master.

GT500 racer Curtis (hot604boi) has been given a new lease on life thanks in part to recent dark side technology. The dark side, oddly enough, has the power to revive life. Although Curtis can not speak proper English anymore, he can still race very well. In fact he has an edge with his three legs now.

We've caught up with him after he pulled into the pits. Curtis, anything you'd like to say?

"Hey! I'....d l...ike to sa...y that. I. h...ave enourtgh? oh I m...ean eno....ugh f...f...fuel no...w!"

Riveting news like this doesn't happen too often, people.

Hold on....Is that eatsviper running across the track asking to be mowed down by the GT300 field demanding less weight? NO! It was a blind sweat shop kitten being chased by Rob23 who is screaming for his medication.

In other news today, China has announced war on India and Pakistan, claiming that Kashmir is historically theirs.

First session today 40 min. I have some 0.2 to improve at top, no more. Will give it a go later as today now is midnight and the teams are making the car´s setups. :D

ROTFL kenny you rule :D

LOL 3 legs - so thats why he's so fast all the time - 1 foot on the gas, 1 on the brakes, and 1 on the clutch

Weight Reduction - basically your car weighs "so much" you get weight added if you finish at the top. If you loose weight you can only take off the weight that was added (not any more than that). YOUR CAR WILL NEVER GO BELOW STOCK WEIGHT.

Viper, I'm moving today, tomorrow and Wednesday ... I'm not sure how it's going to impact my PS2 time, but it certainly will to some degree. I'm not sure if my computer and PS2 will be up and running on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I'm going to try and get whatever time I can tonight, but is it okay if someone else sends it in for me?

I'm going to try to make sure that I can sned it myself before the deadline, but if - let's say - I get jump_ace to do it for me (he lives locally and I can call him if all else fails), is that okay?
