JGTC S1 Round 5 Qualif + Results

But I had about 12 seconds after 5 laps so I think I should be ok but I will definitly need a pit strategy
 
the rain favors the GT300 cars since they have less power and less wheel spin, my team mate was trying all day to get a good time in his supra, but he's throttle control challenged :dunce:. this one is gonna be hard WOOO GT300.
 
Yeah I haven't had a run at this yet, but I would agree with EvilToast, the GT300 class has an advantage this week. Should be pretty interesting (and a little scary :sly: )

do i have to use the same tires for qualifying as for the race?
 
NO - any tires except RSH are leagal at all times, race or qualifier. Its in the rules.
 
But you need to put hard tire before the race so that the AI has hard tire and then in quick tune you can change the tires

Hey you new guys, don't forget to post your sector times in the PM you send me, if I don't get those your time won't be a valid one.

Oh and also if it's possible for only one driver in a team to send the times for both guys, soon we'll have 18 teams so that makes 36 PMs if each send his own time. Don't forget I only have place for 50 PMs in my inbox.
 
This is killing me ... KILLING ME. I ran a decent time last night. but I *KNOW* I can shave off another .2 - .3 if I run well .. tonight I'm leaving my ghost behind, but everytime I hit that second hairpin I am losing it ALL ... and I'm coming off so many freaking times.

Tonight I just can't get it right ... nothing is falling into place.

I have to walk away from this for the evening ... Brad is looking at me like I'm mentally disturbed or something, as I shout and scream at the screen.

If we send a time for the team then we'll need to choose between gt 300 or gt 500
and maybe we won't choose the fastest time. :indiff:

lol choose what exactly? I'm only asking if possible for one driver in each team to be responsible to send both times in.

unfortunately I just realized the qualifiying time was due today and not tomorrow, Since Team Zissou only got less than 24 hrs to qualify should we wait until next round or do we get the 10 sec penalty.

GT_Fan did you get a time submitted?
 
Already in for him, if you don't have enough time just do 10 laps (takes like 10 mins) and submit your best lap that's it, no need to pass hours on this. I should always receive a time from everyone on each qualif and race. If you want to get out of trouble it's better to submit a sucky time over nothing at all with me. :p

post a time even though the deadline passed? that isn't a problem I guess.

Sorry to be a bother but why do we need to qualify for this? since we dont all start on the sae grid.....just curious.

Points are awarded for qualy, 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd. Aside from that, having less days to run the race helps to ensure people who don't have tons of time to put in multiple runs are not too disadvantaged to those who do.

Time submitted. What's the forecast for the weekend, 'cause it's a tad slippery out there :sly: I had to learn some new lines through some of the turns. I have a new respect for RL racers who are fast in the wet.

@eatsviper4lunch: How did you find the RX-7 this week? I contemplated running a higher top speed to reduce wheelspin, but in the end opted for 210 as a solid footing. What did you use? Sorry about submitting separately, I've been very busy, I'll talk with Ev0 before the weekend and we'll try to submit our race time together 👍

@Koly: That last hairpin is a b**ch! It took me about 20 laps to find a good line through there, you have to take it very slowly.

My method is to scream at the top of my lungs as the rear end comes spinning around on the same damned hairpin for the umpteenth time.

It doesn't seem to shave off any time though, unfortunately.

Well I had another go at it ... because it's unusual for me to set a time on Monday that I can't subsequently beat the following two days ... but I just can't touch it. Yesterday was awful, and today the closest I can get is .2, so I'm submitting what I had from 48 hours ago.

And that can't be good :(
