Has anyone done tire testing here yet? I suspect the technique I used in qualy is a bit of a tire shredder, but how does the wet affect tire wear?

I could only get 5 laps out of an RM/RM combo. I haven't tried RH yet but i'm interested to see how many laps i can get out of them. This wet track is proving to be a real tire shredder.

Yeah that's what I was worried about :nervous: Oh well, let's just hope one car doesn't have a significant advantage over the others.

i',m surpirsed i wasn't that far off the pace considering i only did 10 laps quali. oh well havent tried rh yet i think i might go with mediums for faster times.

I qualified well too for only 7 laps. I had just unlocked the track at around 5:00 pm and then I had to go somewhere so I did pretty well.

Actually, as hard as this is going to be, I am going to really enjoy this race. :dopey: I live in FLA so driving on the wet roads is normal to me :sly: Tire wear is going to be at premium as the slip and slide effects tire wear like on dry pavement. :yuck:

i just finished the race wow it was fun. only made 3 minor mistakes, because of stupid AI. 3 lap gap seems to easy for difficulty 10.

Is it a full field when you race against the AI? I can't imagine being lined up behind 5 cars, all of them spitting spray into my face :p

It is a shame we can't tune our suspension for this race because there could be some major improvements made for these cars in the wet but it is still fun :)

Damn, I think I've been driving in too many OLR races. Last night for the first time in about a month I actually had a bit of time to do a couple of races in GT Mode.

First of all, the physics engine in arcade mode is slightly "detuned", and secondly, I've gotten used to the awesome handling of my JGTC RX-7. I took out my Viper SRT-10 and my Ford GT (okay, perhaps not the best candidates in retrospect, but anyway) and I just couldn't believe how much understeer there was at first, until I realized I was coming into the turns too hot and getting on the gas too early. I'd forgotten how to drive road cars :scared: All my skills with slow delicate throttle control have left me :(

I need more free time :grumpy:

Entrants list now up to date with a new team : Pedal Mashers

Welcome guys. :)

and me? can i entar that other open slot for next race?
:) (the one on gt500)
maybe i´m been :dunce: but just want to join...

I'm really looking for the NSX's in this round, don't disappoint me guys. :sly:

On my side I did a first race yesterday, decent time to use as a base to work on. Once you find your rhythm I find it to be a piece of cake, actually easier than the previous rounds!

Just completed all 50 laps. That was a *****!

I don't ever want to do more laps on this track again without TCS......even when I set the gearing to the highest value, it STILL spun the tires in the lower gears.

So I set it down to near what I did for qualifying, and beared with spinning tires for 50 laps. I must say I had some perfect drifts, though.

I'll probably submit this one.

I ran my race tonight. Restart after restart after restart and finally it is over. Never again will I set foot (or tire) on Tsukuba Wet!

:banghead: :ouch: 🤬 AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Had a super run going, prob. would have been the race i would of submitted. Got to the 48th lap coming up on the AI on the hard right sweeper, he spins out coming out and i hit him right in the doors WHAM! :banghead: Knocks me off the track plus a penalty to boot 🤬 Had prob. a 20 second lead over my other time but ended up 5 seconds back. :yuck:

Well, off to regroove some more tires.

What happend my team got kicked out. i made that name Underground Racers.

What happend i am still on my Vacation. How what did they do to get kiced out?

I hated this race with a passion ... the only good thing to come out of it was the 200pt win, but aside from a few spin outs (by me) it was long, boring, tedious and uneventful ... the AI didn't even do anything dramatic.

Rear tire wear was INSANE, but I'm not going to re-run the race ... one time out is fine by me. I think I'd rather hit my head against the wall a few times rather than re-run.

Time submitted.

C'mon guys, you think you made it into the JGTC by being tame drivers? :sly: *ducks for cover*

I actually found this race quite enjoyable. Sure the wheel-to-wheel racing was a little absent, but the laps are so short that it went quite quickly. Nice exercise in car control 👍 Though I'm looking forward to some sunsine.

I do think the GT500 guys had it hard this week. Controlling the 306bhp RX-7 was tricky, but I imagine those 470bhp+ beasts must've been a handful. Anyone using DS2 this week, my condolences :scared: :)

Anyway, time submitted for my team. Good luck to everyone!

I did my race now. After some tries i got to manage it perfect, i think i lost maybe a second or 1.5 with 2 short mistakes, nothing big, just a bad cornering, but overall i did it the same lap time. Pit entry and overtaking was nice too, in some laps i didn´t loose time with the AI at all in overtaking, the rest maybe 0.5 or 0.7, but i don´t see further 4 or 5 seconds, for the perfect race. :)

I will submit it, for the first time of my JGTC season, some sort earlier than the Deadline, and not like 50 mins earlier. LOL :)

This race was also my very first JGTC race driving the DFP. :) I think i got to quickly adapt, at least this race was sweet to do with it, last lap i was  because i got a big drift in last corner that almost got me totalled in wall, but i got to manage it and i think i didn´t loose time, but i was scared at all. :ouch: :)

DFP should technically destroy DS2 this week. :guilty:

I did the race only twice, I think I have a time decent enough not to finish last. :guilty:

Yeah, that will probably be me :(

Though I'm thankful for the DFP this round; I'm having to be very judicious with the throttle and brake.

Not that much viper, i don´t think its easier or harder to play with it than in the DS2, i think its a different way of driving.

I could manage those wheelspins in the DS2 no probl, same as in wheel, so i just think its more fun to play with it, not that it seems easier. Maybe for some it seems, maybe not, each one has its own driving style, i myself prefer the wheel because its more fun and seems more real to drive on it, but its not easier, neither harder than the DS2. Its a different style. :)

just to give you an example of that, i can´t now, manage the same lap in the ring, that i did in the DS2, that 4'48. It seems harder from a point of view, and easier from another, but i first have to adapt to do that again. Managing that wheelspins that the minolta was giving me wasn´t the problem at all in the DS2, the problem was to maintain the car on the road. Now, i can maintain it easily, but meanwhile i can´t just go that fast, its a matter of time, of geting adapted to it, of geting the racetrack, etc.

Its a different way, some good and bad points, and also counts your style, but its not harder or easier at all. :)
