i tested some cars that nobody picked in the start of the season...

i ran with the fairlady Z. team nissan did a good jog there, the handling is the way i like it 👍

maybe team nissan shows up and gives me a new car for the next rounds... :dopey: :D a good idea, but not likely to happen... or... 💡

my skyline is mad at me because i talk so bad about him :grumpy:

poor thing. well, already creating some vegas insight, i bet 50, i said 50 bucks on the RX-8 for the pole... also, the RX-7 should come 2nd...

I don't think i'm going to enjoy this round at all. I've done some testing with my car for around 15 laps and then i tried the RX-7 and the S2000 with stock weight and with just 2 laps with each car i smashed my time in the celica which took 15 laps to get.
Bring on Round 5 i say.

hehe wonder how my car will act~

supersofts for qualy. but hard all the way for race day

thats my only way to challenge for the front

not to bad i say... even with the pitwork z and with my car in my testing... but compared to the others, very slow :D

its good to go on hard tires, i would, but i eat tires, so i can´t get a 15 lap stint with hard tires on...

Cool, do I get a cut? ;)

And with the Fairlady Z, is that the one with over 600 hp stock? If so, I don't think that's the one ev4l had in mind.

Mind you, I haven't found a 350Z LM concept in the ubersave garage. Perhaps it's a PAL/NTSC thing.

EDIT: Having checked the car lists for both NTSC and the Japan release (I couldn't find a generic PAL list) I found:

Nissan 350Z LM Race Car (Z33) ('02) (for NTSC)
and
Nissan Fairlady Z LM Race Car (Z33) ('02) (for Japan)

One would assume they were the same car?

Well, here come another bad week. But at least I'm back down to +5% weight. Good luck guys.

Well, this track sucks. It's boring, there's no skill needed, and I can't wait till Laguna!!! :) 👍

I hope I can start doing a little better!!!

yes, its the same, its a model that comes with 500HP stock... i changed to 484 to make it more close, but still, a rocket... and well, the 50 bucks are just a symbolic prize 👍

I've realized that I haven't raced much at this track, at least not in GT4. It's appearance is so different from how it was in GT1 & 2 that I just don't recognize it. I keep forgetting it's the same track...well kinda.

Anyway, I'm finding turns 3 & 4 are very disturbing. You spend so much of the lap at full throttle I just can't bring myself to slow down enough for those turns when they approach. I know they're coming, and I tell myself "now remember to brake more, 4th gear, 150, that's it, dammit missed the apex again". The car just understeers like a tank around this section...not that I've driven enough tanks to comment on their handling...but you get the idea :)

If ever there was a track where average speed and corner exit speed was key, this is it.

since you also drive a skyline, try this:

set your auto gear at 450 and only use 3rd, 4th and 5th gear, it helps, the RPM/Torque of those skylines its better obtained with lower revs... just make a quick rundown with your ghost... also, just for the skyline, don´t redline it!

i also drive one of those tanks, so i hope that helps 👍

with auto gear at 310, i had 280 max speed, with 450, i got 290

Dammit fasj, you worked it out!! :)

The same goes for anyone driving the Garaiya in GT300. Short-shift baby!!

Hmm...I never thought of that, thanks man! I'll try that out over the weekend :)

Us Skyline Driver's Club need to stick together 👍

first just like to say hi to all since i'm new :)

i've ran some times and not sure if they're any good since i registered using the gt500 but put in gt300 to even the field out

this course is really easy to lose alot of time on if you dont concentrate, should be interesting week!

Hi, Alarmed"funny nick".

Good luck to you. Hope you deal better than me with those fast pilots in there...

Someone please donate me couple of hp for this round only. :guilty: :guilty: If you do I'll give you bonus points in the standings... but don't tell anyone. :sly:

I'll start to qualif early this week, first time ever I do so before the last allowed day!

I think my car has given all the HPs it had to give. I guess I'm done with the qualification. But I'll still give a couple more tries.

But not tomorrow. I'll be on the Portuguese Sony GT4 National Championship final, along with 9 other contestants.

Wish me luck!...

Damm what do the prizes look like? Should be interesting since this is a National Champ, sounds like something of a decent importance. How do the challenges and races work exactly?

Good luck man. 👍

Well, thanks,

the qualifying consisted of 1 hotlap in asfalt (Nissan Motul Pitwork Z @ New York) and 1 hotlap in dirt (Subaru Impreza Rally Car '99@Grand Canyon), selecting the 10 best combined results.

The way Sony combined the scores is a mistery, since some of the best GT4 pilots in Portugal were not selected (like Thurzo, for example, WRS Div1 driver; if not the best, one of the best GT4 players in Portugal).

Sony selected 8 tracks: Laguna, Tsukuba, Grand Valley, Motorland, Seoul, New York, Swiss Alps and Grand Canyon. Before the competition, each driver will choose 2 cars among every cars in the game (???; that's what says in the rules; can you guess which asfalt car will everyone choose? and which 4wd car? there are no clean rules like gtplanet's to play the game; every wall is worthy a touch; probably, those in Sony who organized this never played GT4...).

The 10 finalists will be divided in two groups of 5, playing in Arcade mode (Sony didn't specify if it's hotlap or LAN) against each others within each group. Tracks for this phase will be drawn from luck (don't know of this part is well written).

For the semi-finals, first of 1st group will play against the 2nd of the other group, and vice-versa.

And then, the final.

The prizes:

1st prize will be a trip to a one day driving course in the Ascari Circuit, in Spain, with the opportunity to drive the beautiful Ascari KZ1-R.

2nd prize is a DFP Wheel (probably, I'll offer it to Thurzo, if I get to win it... don't tell him, it's a surprise; I already have my own) + 2 PS2 games.

The remaining 8 participants get 2 PS2 games.

Wow! Sounds sweet, and poorly organized. Good luck man. 👍

LOL....couldn't better described: sweet, and poorly organized. 👍

Going now......Vruuuuuuuuuuum

Submitted my time. Not really happy with it. This weight is killing me.

But on a side note, I had a little 12 lap race on this. This race is going to be really hard, the only reason I won was because I kept moving infront of the McLaren everytime he tried to overtake me, and gaining a massive speed boost.

However, I found out, that if you enter the pits after the last corner, where the cones are, you can drive the whole way down the pits full speed. You can also drive right through the other cars if they are actually in their pit box. Which I thought was kinda neat.

Time Submitted.
I had a target set early in the week and i nearly got there but just missed it. Just about the best time i could get with his car. I'm still looking forward to next week though.

Well. Third place on the Championship. My nerves won on the semi-final. My fingers refused to obey me and my F1 just went into the pits on last turn of Motorland. I was going faster than my opponent, but the nerves won. Finished the lap in the pits :yuck: .

I'll try to be there for GT5....

Hi guys, new guy here, I recognize alot of ya from WRS. Sent in my qualifing time, hopefully will be able to run next round, just waiting for the boss to give me a nod.

Congrats jctraduz. Third place is a great finish. Too bad about the pits though, but at that track if you miss the breaking point there your going into the pits no matter what you do. :p

time submitted.
no replay this time, i think my AR Max CD is somehow damaged
i'll try to send it as soon as possible

Thanks ejr. Although I think I had all the conditions to reach the final (except for the nervous part)...

Now, I'll focus on JGTC.

Just ran in the RX-8...OMG that's just sick fast compare to my Motul! I think I'm getting raped like 10kph+ on the top end. :scared: No way I'm getting a decent result for this round.
