Pitting Resume (lap info, tire set used, penalties) :

42 laps, I was guessing 40.

Looks like a 5-stopper for me. My front tyres don't like the sweepers.

This will be a first for me using the SPEED LIMITER penalty. Guess I'll hop in and give it a try.

Was this penalty selected because of the incredibly hairy near-misses that are so likely at this track? Like when flying out of or past the pits? On the next to last lap?

Hmmm.......

(I probably won't be affected by too much speed...)

It's usually chosen on street courses where the chance of brushing a wall and getting a penalty are generally higher.

I gave this one just one quick (?) shot. The speed limiter penalty is (to me) a bit more nerve-wracking than the forced pit entry. Very good application though, at this particular track. Definitely kept me on my toes, and I was really nervous each time passing the pits. I altered my normal line just a bit to guard against another car roaring out. May have cost a teeny bit of time, but...

There were a few close calls but I just backed off when necessary. Did have some lucky breaks catching the others at fairly safe overtaking spots.

Those guys are a little unpredictable, huh?

Guess I'll rest up for Apricot Hill. Maybe I'll be lucky (?) and lose some weight.

 Arg, speed limiter. And here i thought there was something wrong w/ my carburators, Doh!:dunce: . This has always been a fav. track of mine, so should do pretty good. :sly:

first race last night, just to have a time in.

i tried to run 7 laps with RM/RS, but no good

6 laps at best.

i tried also 5 laps with RS/RS but no good either

4 laps only, with the final been a little slower.

in my first race i had 7 stops. i can´t run with hard or mediuns because i would be slower than the GT300 lap times for the qualify, so i have to run with RM/RS.

but in this race i was testing everything, so i had 7 (yes, 7!) penalties, and some really bad braking. just to shape up my strategy. i should have 6 stops in the real race, maybe push for 5... 6 is a little too much... 30 seconds per pit. either way, i have to be very careful to not go hard on the car... one or two more tries before submitting, not a lot of time to put into, but lets go:tup:

Hmm...I didn't get much time last week to run the qualy, so I know I could've been faster by maybe half a second, but that doesn't look terribly promising for the race :nervous: This season is gonna be another close finish :)

There are a lot of variable racing lines at this track with cars this powerful, it's gonna be fun finding them all :D

Nissal Pennzoil Zexel GT-R exits the pits...

Here's a real stupid move, I'm on the final lap, having a real good race, my tired little brain says ..ahh last lap, which gets translated to my body as PIT. Yes, I pitted on lap 42! What's even worse is I admitted it!! Oh well, back at it tomorrow.

i can top that, i had 7 penalties in my first race.

7!!!

:dunce: :dunce: :dunce: for me

Hey I know we can't discuss times, but is this race a bit longer than usual? My first run, albeit not terribly fast, is very slow if I look at the normal times for a full-length race in my class.

eatsviper4lunch
With all the recent short events (53-54 mins) I decided to put this one a little longer than usual. :)
I like the length of this race, it's only a few minutes longer then the others.I was going to rerun anyway, cause on lap 27 I got hit in the side by the Mugen and I drew a 10 sec. penalty, other then that I was really lucky with the traffic. No pit exit situations.

Phew! I thought I was in more trouble than usual in the races.

Yeah that's what I was worried about, I thought maybe I just had a very bad line around here.

When we see the results it'll be obvious why we're running 42 laps, although in the 300 class 41 would have been perfect.Just finished a good race, no wall touches, no penalties, just minimul paint swapping, no pit incidents, a lucky run. Good Luck ya'll !!

had a second race last night... i know we have a longer race, but still, the time seems too slow:crazy:

found a good tire strategy for me, 6 pits, RM/RS all the way... i really can´t use RS/RS, which sucks, but that´s just the way it is. it will be interesting to see the results with all the fat cars running...

round 10 will be fun:)

also, i don´t know if i should finish bad to remove weight... if i do that, i get a good car for the finish, but no chance for the title. if i stay with this amount of weight, i´ll have to gut it out till the end... which i think its the way to go.

i´m really pissed for having 3 second place finishes... can´t blame the car, the universe, my job or whatever for those close races.

but in the end, it´s so much fun... i really hope the 9 guys in the GT500 and the 8 guys in GT300 that are running right now, are able to race in season 2.

should be even more fun, now that we all know the cars, strategy and stuff:dopey:

I decided to laugh at some people tonight and made a little list of who dropped out from the ones who registered as full-timer at the start of the season. Couple might go straight onto the all-time JGTC series banned list.

I think we could have something pretty strong for S2 with guys like jctraduz, Nuvolari, Drew22 who are all newcomers, and the older ones like ZeratulSG. I really hope all those guys will stick around. What I'm looking for in letting new drivers race in this championship is to gain their thrust and get them to stick around on the long road. We are starting to build a nice driver lineup of returning people season after season, and this looks really promising for the future. The major goal I guess would be to have a crowd of around 20 drivers in that list of dedicated people.

WAR JGTC SERIES! :sly:

Red Cloud...is that guy still alive?

I found it odd that he dissapeared at a time when we were almost leading 2 standings! (Myself the GT500, and the Team One). But what can you do?

Also wanted to say this is a fantastic championship, and in my opinion the best on GTP. Sure it had a few drop-outs, but compared to others going around here, this is by far the most efficient. Eats, you are a great race administrator thingy, I always knew what I had to do, what weights I was at, when I had to submit by, with just a glace at a single page.

I hope I can still get somewhere in this championship, and while I may not be able to take the title, I hope at the very least I can get into the top 3, and I'll be very happy with that, because most likely I'll be behind two D1 drivers who I know are much faster than I.

This championship has really made me faster I believe, and I'll be the first person to sign up for the next season. (If I can have my RX-7 :sly:, we have a stange bond now, it's really not healthy)

Although this is my first season driving under your leadership eats, I really enjoy and respect the professionalism you bring to the series, like Casio pointed out, it's always very easy and quick to see what we're supposed to do (ya ever think about teaching kindergarden ). I didn't sign up for the 500 series cause I didn't want to commit to full time until I got a feeling for the series, next season I'm going full time.
This is all in hopes of pumping some sushine up your a** so you won't give me any more weight:) No, seriously this is a great ,very well run ,and attended series. If we all stick to it we will have one of, if not the best series here at GTP.

I only keep 3 or 4 replays on my OLR memory card and was about to overwrite last weeks races, so I thought I'd post my hot lap for SSR5 in case anyone is interested. Good luck this week Ya'll!!

I'll be here next season too. I don't know why, but I feel this is my first and only online commitment. If I miss another event, oh well, but if I miss the JGTC, I wonder what would happen. I might just have to kill myself.

Also, next season, I'm going to be gunning for a seat in a GT500 car. :)

👍

im a newcomer too:dopey:
and i compete in the GT500

The Honda Rulezzzzzzzzzzz

I'll be here next season dude 👍 Awesome job, I'm just glad I found it from day 1. Dropped out of the WRS to make time for JGTC! Hey I've even dragged my DFP half way around the world just to be able to keep competing :)

The only thing keeping me from being full-time at the moment is the fact that I'm traveling a lot for work.

Keep it up guys, there are a lot of badass competitive and dedicated drivers here and I'm proud to be part of this series

I can take some gentle ribbing, but I think missing one qualifying session in more than 6 months of racing in this series (dating back to the Round 5 Race in Season 0) is not too bad. :D :sly:

Plus, I contacted ev4l to provide, if not an excuse, at least an explanation. :guilty:

But, big props to all of those guys here who make the time each week to compete and make this series the best on GTP. I love the friendly rivalries that occur all up and down the field, made all the more exciting because of the "blind" nature of the events. You may have some idea of where you're going to end up, but until the results are posted you can't be sure.

So, thank you Mr Viper-eater, for all the work you do. Here's hoping we have a tough battle in the remaining races. 👍

And thank you to my team-mate Teledriel, who's always there every week picking up points for Team Rotarz (even got a pole position! 👍) and steadily improving his times.
