JGTC S3 Round 4 Qualif + Results

Nice shots. Are those the legal or the illegal ones?:sly:

The season is really going fast, after R4 is done we are already 1/3 in the calendar!

GVS is really a good JGTC track. I'd give alot this week to be at 0% weight. :guilty:

ok for the concrete areas, but why make it ilegal the other tarmac areas? i don´t get it:dunce:

It's a qualif, play by my rules. :) In the race use what you want.

I'm assuming that the photos show what is legal?

If that's so then pardon me, but would Aryton Senna drive like that? If this type of driving is acceptable, we're no longer racing with a simulator but instead playing video games.

At Monaco we race with no penalty, now we're driving completely off the track?

What's next?
I think the fotos are the illegal ones.....

I think the fotos are the illegal ones.....

I did go back and forth with some confusion. Anyway, thanks for the correction.

I do feel much better.

Is it actually possible that those illegal shots will be legal in the race per the quote, "In the race use what you want".

I may still be confused. Old Phart would understand. (Hope I didn't misspell Old Phart...)

thanks for the laugh :)
today is a sad day - week for me, as I've had to put down a friend of 17 years ... I still may try this qual/race ... if the tears stop... haven't cried like this since I lost my first "team" member ... yes, even us ex-special forces guys cry when we lose someone ... as per tradition... I smell a very heavy drunk coming

seriously, what are you thinkin Eats?
why would the extra run-off at the bridge be illegal

i wont re-do my qualifying run, it was driven to perfection - 100% legal
so give me a 10-second penalty

~ i just have to add one more thing,
the retarded tire strategies being used needs to be looked at...

maybe Mild tire wear, or only 1 set of Softs

They are illegal because I said so they are, no justification, no explanation they just are. This is a message to all, not happy then there are other series on here that you can join and that are probably better than this one.

hOt6o4bOi this is a ****ty day I'm having, and now you come back with the number of pits some people are doing again. Now I'm serious, bring that up again one more time and I'll make an exemple of your case. If you can't keep up and blaming it on the pitting strategies race only the WRS. Hope we have this cleared up and it's final.

you know what?

fCuk this series ~ it was just starting to get good

but if the race director cant even figure out that he still has hiccups with the series have fun mind-controlling the other racers here

~ i really dont want to add this, because it will give myself a bad image

this series tries to handicap driver skill too much, have fun

I just don't understand why every rule and regulation gets constantly questioned here. All the rules were plainly explained at the begining of the series, if they weren't to your liking then don't sign up. Every sport has rules and are followed or else. Imagine real life races where drivers complained about weight, speed or other clearly defined rules...very unprofessional and pety. This has been bothering me all season, last season there wasn't nearly this much whinning about the rules. Life is made up by laws and rules, either deal with them in a mature manner or go home and play by your own rules. This is eats series, he's the boss, he makes and enforces the rules....end of story. He also puts in all the time and work to make the series a great one. I know I'd be PO'd if I spent many many hours putting together a series, figuring out fair rules and all else entailed only to be baraged by people who have a "better way"...it's BS. I'm with you 100% eats, you have always been fair and even handed and you deserve the respect of all drivers under your leadership. There I said it, I've started this post several times over the last few weeks but never posted it, slam me if you want but I'm sticking to my guns and supporting our leader...even if he gave me a 10 second penalty for being 40 minutes late submitting my last quali.:)

i think i started this, but i was just asking to know if i could use the same pavement areas that we used in the qualy for the BC. didn´t wanted to start a fight. calm down guys, lets move on with the racing, its all clear now.

curtis, i understand your case with the pits, but the game is simulating tire wear in a wrong way, that´s not a driver´s fault that one set of tires only lasts for a few laps.

peace:tup:

no, its the driver's fault for not trying to simulate it

any driver can drive on Softs consistently for a whole race distance, whoopty dooo

lets see if any of you can do that on Hards for the whole race? 💡

~anyways enough of this, have fun trading wins each race ~ and planning on what position you want to finish in... so you can plan for your weight for the next race

You prefer series with a massive domination by 1-2 drivers then join one. My point and main goal with the JGTC was from the start to give an equal chance to all, so that everyone could aspire to a podium finish. If you think it's fun for a slower driver to always finish close to last well get a clue it's not. Here I'm doing everything I can to make this an even playing field. With your type of philosophy I guess you should stick to the same hp, weight from the start until the end type of series. That way you could dominate from A to Z and be really proud of your accomplishments.

I said it from the start, there's no fawking domination in here. And all the others not happy PM me and tell you quit now.

if you wanted domination, i would have been using Soft tires like the rest

but instead... i've only used hards

Oh come on guys. Give it up already. You guys are making a bad day worse. Arg! If you don't want to be here Curtis then leave. I don't want to see anyone go, but if it's soo dificult to play by someone else's rules, don't. Stop whining. Perhaps you are too fast for the rest of us, but you really don't need to rub it in our faces. I really didn't want to post this, but I'm tired of the BS.

:grumpy:

i never wanted to rub it in anybodies faces

sorry for offending you guys, especially you Eats

ill be on my way now

I think this is a big ego thing. The fact that a slower driver can finish ahead of you in a race (because of hp, weight, # of pitstops) is troubling your person. You've proved this in season 1, season 2 and now season 3. The thing you don't understand is that we all know you're probably the fastest GT500 driver. Winning 12 races on a 12 rounds calendar will prove absolutely nothing more to everyone out here.

Introspection, look into it.

I'm done with this case, now I'm looking at qualifying for GVS tomorrow and have some fun on the race. 👍

I'll try and be "carefull" here, seeing that a lot of us haven't had a great day.

I came here to find solace, and instead find more of what the real world has given me this day.

I won't jump on Curtis - there is no need.
I'm a bit hurt that he did find that the rest of us struggling as hard as we can to be "less" than challenging. Maybe if Dan had held to his word to race it wouldv'e been different for you bro. I can't speak for the 500 series, but I know for us in 300, we run as hard as we can every week.

I understand why Eats' has chosen to use the WRS rules for the qual, and not the race. I don't want to get 1/2 into a race and try passing the AI, and be pushed off into a dirty lap.

We, all of us, chose to run the series according to how the moderator chose to run it..... period. We also chose to give our word to honor our comittment to our partners and the series. Maybe it's the youth, maybe it's just that I'm too old and the world has passed by. But, my word, in truth, is all I have to offer anyone ... here, or in the "real world".

I don't know how many of you have driven a race, a real race - in a car or even a go-kart, but Tire Wear - is but one aspect that every racer must confront. Speed vs. wear/ pits. From F1 on down. How many races has "Shumie" won because of his pit stratagey ? How many Championships ?

The trans-am and other series has the same deal. Place high, get added weight. Win, take a hp reduction. Again, real world. That's one of the beauties of this series. In WRS, what chance do I have against Dan ? Running the same car, weight and hp ? NONE

Even with all that is going on in my life right now, I'm still here - still trying. Why ? Because I gave my word to Eats', as well as my partner. It doesn't matter that my partner chose to never run a race, that I'm out of the Championship because of his actions - what matters is that I told everyone here, that by becoming a part of it, that I will honor my word and comittment.

For when it boils down, that's all we've ever got
ourselves

well you have nipped me in the butt EV4L, coz i submitted my lap time before you made it known to us that these areas are illegal, i only used the concrete in the second picture, all other corners were clean, but i wish i had known earlier...

any penalty you hand down for the infringment that i have done will be taken on the chin champ, as every racer should...

as for the bull**** people laying bull**** on EV4L, BACK OFF, in no way could any of you hacks organise, let alone manage a series of the magnitude of this one, yes there are some problems, but name me one other race series either online or real-life for that matter that doesnt have a few little problems... put up or shut up...

No it's my mistake, the people who had submitted before I posted the illegal shots (there was only 2) won't be penalized. I'm the one who was late. I know and admit when I'm wrong, I take the blame. :ouch:

edit to put there was only 2, you and hot

you are gentleman and a scholar... dun be so harsh on yourself, tis only a game... ;)

Thankfully I was already concidering the illegal areas as such, so there is no problem from me!

I really can't understand Curtis's attitude about them either. But hey, as J.R. said, it must be an age thing.

The weight and power penalty system is great, it allows ALL of us to experience the thrill of a podium. And I really can't see any reason to change, question or challenge it.

If it works, don't try and fix it!👍

Also, Eats! What's your real name bud?
I personally hate using screen names/monikers instead of names. I mean it's much more friendly to be calling me Neil instead of Ballstothewall, J.R. instead of Oldphart, Andy instead of Drew22, Brad instead of Casio etc, etc.

@ J.R.

Sorry to hear about your old best friend mate, I know it must hurt loads. I don't know what I'll be like when my 12 year old best mate goes, he helped me through a great deal when the ex-wife buggered off a few years ago.
you have my heart-felt sympathies mate! :(

And the rest of ya!

Buck-up! That's an order!

It's nearly the weekend for god's sake!

Neil

Pardon me while I get back to Eats' ?
He's got a very valid point - there are only 7 teams left

Ok, granted - I'm one of the ones that was left flapping in the breeze because my teammate chose not to run in the series.

Granted, it pisses me off to no end, seeing that not only did he leave me hanging - after promising to uphold his end - but has threatened the vitality of the whole ! - never mind destroying the super challenge of watching him and Curtis over the season

So now what ? Push me back into the part-time drivers ? Because someone can't uphold their word ? Put me with someone that has lost a 300 driver ? Is that fair to the other teams ? I may not be tearing up the division, but I've been consistantly scoring points.

Truth of the matter is - I don't see how that can be fair to the other teams - nor can I see putting me out of the run for the Championship because of someone elses inaction being fair to me.

Maybe it comes from being so old - shaking my head - maybe it comes from being ex-special forces - all I know is that when a man (use the term lightly here) gives me his word - I expect him to uphold it. How is Eats' suppose to feel ? Here, he bust his ass, putting together this whole thing - has to deal with all the "other b.s." of our lives - and still try and race competively.

The comittment to this series was very upfront - to some - me at least - my word, my comttment - to Eats', to this series - is the only thing that has kept me here this long.

The teams that are left - yes you - need to think about what is fair for those of us that have been cast aside in their shamless acts. What is fair to you ? - The "Boss" has asked, and yet I've seen nothing in here yet, why ? This was suppose to be a "Team" Championship. The big debate about the part-time drivers stealing points - remember that ? Well, now we've got more of a problem. If we, those without teammates - are put into that catagory - is that fair to us ?

Be a man, step up !
Tell me, Tell Eats'
what are we suppose to do ?
Umm...some very valid points and I feel the same way about the committment issue. Some people are forced to drop out through no fault of their own (RL kicks in), however as I recall your teammate seemed to just lose interest, something I wouldn't respect either.

However, if it's any consolation, there is still a drivers championship...let's face it at the end of the day, in RL racing, the drivers championship counts for more than the team champioship :)

...and as one of the 3 JGTC members who's been here since the beginning, missing only 1 race submission in 21 rounds (last week due to unavoidable circumstances), I don't suffer these comments about part-timers "stealing points" lightly :irked:

If you are a GT500 driver and want to run full-time please let me know. List of possible guys is :

VTRacing
DRIVEN -USA-
Mr_Nissan
ZeratulSG
EV4L you know I would raise my hand in an instant, the only reason I'm part-time at all is because of my traveling (case in point, what happened last round :( ). I don't want to disadvantage a team mate.

EDIT: Woohoo! Just got my TV (late I know). The hotel had to go out and buy me one :D A nice, shiny, new flatpanel LCD...time to unpack the wheel and get back into this thing! ...oh yeah, and if you're ever in Bern, I recommend this hotel :sly:

No insult meant to the part-timers.
I was refering to the "great debate" before the season started. Which the boss settled 👍

As far as your personal comittment
Just following your post these past few weeks would bring no doubt to where you stand

@Old Phart: No problemo, the debate just irked me at the time a bit *shrugs*

I've got my work cut out for me to make up for no points last round heh :( Just put in some sessions, for the record I'm not complaining here, but I just can't seem to gain confidence in the slow turns with my car this season, at least on certain track surfaces (like Motegi and GVS). She's very twitchy for me under modulated throttle, easy to unsettle (yet very solid under braking). It must be my driving style since SHigSpeed did some tests with my car and described it as "on rails"...

Oh well, back to the pits 👍

EDIT: Been experimenting with some different styles in the slower turns, I think I may have hit a sweet spot :) Knocked .5 off my time in 2 laps...

on a more to the subject - qual
I don't think I'm going to match last seasons' pole :grumpy: but then again, I've not qual'd very well to date... shrug ... I'm trying to run a few laps inbetween cleaning the place up for moving :ouch:

I am looking forward to F1 this weekend... help divert my attention a bit :dopey: I'm especialy looking forward to the GP2 guys tearing it up  Wondering how in the hell those 12 young guns are going to get around that tight track.... speaking of which.... the new qualifying sessions at Monte' Carlo ? !!!! .... yikes ! ... how many red flags are going to be out for that one ?

Keeping busy is helping keep my mind off missing my buddy, well, a bit at least. I still look for him everytime I enter the other room. Guess that's going to be there for awhile.

Hell of race weekend - F1 - Indy - and Nascar - plus the new X-Men movie is out :dopey: hey - I'm old, not dead :P
