JGTC S3 Round 4 Qualif + Results

Hey I'm less than 400kms away from the Monaco GP...unfortunately things happened too late and I couldn't organize tickets, accommodation, travel, etc. :( Thought of going to Silverstone in June but apparently it's all sold out.

No it's my mistake, the people who had submitted before I posted the illegal shots (there was only 2) won't be penalized. I'm the one who was late. I know and admit when I'm wrong, I take the blame. :ouch:

edit to put there was only 2, you and hot

Hey eats, I submitted early too, right? I think I was wide past the line into the bridge though...

Out of the country and can't requal...

-SHig

btw, thanks for considering the laps submitted prior. I was about to be pretty upset...

hOt6o4bOi
seriously, what are you thinkin Eats?
why would the extra run-off at the bridge be illegal

i wont re-do my qualifying run, it was driven to perfection - 100% legal
so give me a 10-second penalty

~ i just have to add one more thing,
the retarded tire strategies being used needs to be looked at...

maybe Mild tire wear, or only 1 set of Softs

Maybe Curtis' use of the word retarded was a bit harsh, but I do agree and would like to express my opinion that the tire strategy thing is somewhat unrealistic. That said, still fun and I'll go by any rules set forth...

Back to lurk mode...

Time submitted....ON TIME this week. Only had time for one session this week so I'll be pretty slow in the quali. I'm paying for last weeks performance...oh well. Good luck guys, seeya next week!

I don't think I'll have time to improve on my first stint, so I'll submit my lap if it's considered legal by these new rules considering the white lines. The concrete inside the curbing I've always agreed with, but wasn't aware of the possibility of being inside the line before T2 illegal, so we'll see if it's considered clean or not. Hopefully it is...

Edit: It is! So that's good. I'll wait until later to submit it though, I MIGHT have a few minutes tomorrow morning to try for a faster lap... We'll see.

Talk about a clean Monaco qualifying...only Felipe "I Like to Crash" Massa put it in the wall as usual ;)

Off to do a few more runs before submission 👍

So ?
Did "Shumie" lose it on purpose ? after taking P1
If nothing else, it'll get the ?'s going

Off to see if I can get a bit closer to pole record

The replay clearly showed him turn it to the straight ahead position just after the entry radius.

Guilty.

But pretty smart. All's fair in F1?

Nope, watch the replay from outside the car, he clearly lost the tail going into the turn, the reason he turned the wheel to straight ahead was to countersteer, which put him wide (and almost hit the wall). Actually he started twitching under braking already.

I'm sure Renault will see it as deliberate though :)

EDIT: Time submitted. Just blew away my time from yesterday by another .7. It feels fast, but then I have no idea what feels fast in everyone else's car

Good luck all!

Schumi clearly has some "special" skills, nicht wahr?

He has.:sly:
I hated Schumi as long as I remember, but after a few races in this year I changed my mind.At his age (he is 38 ,maybe?) he gives anything for the win and it is good to see that a 7-times F-1 champion is still hungry for the success.Respect.Hope he can win this race in Monaco.👍

Time submitted..... I only had time for one session this week 30m to do it.
Hope i'm not too slow.:)
About Shumacher,I think in the beginning he didn't wanted to loose the car ,but he could had avoid to stop the car like that.:grumpy:
We will see at the race who rules...

P.S. There will be no penalty handed down. IMO the FIA would have to have information beyond a reasonable doubt to punish him (just like in real life!) If there was some sort of radio communication it would be different. Right now it just looks like a convenient accident.

Oh there's no doubt he benefitted from the incident, Alonso crossed 0.068 (I think) slower than P1 and that included having to take an odd line out of Rascasse, so he would've been P1 (then again Michael may have been faster if he'd finished the lap).

I knew this would be a bone of contention so I watched the replays very carefully :) A slight wobble into the braking zone, mid-apex the back kicks out slightly (the car is visibly sideways for a split second on the slow motion replay), causing him to countersteer briefly, followed almost immediately by full-right lock on the front wheels while the car went straight (i.e. front lockup). Watch the replays again, you can't honestly tell me that was a deliberate blocking move.

Interesting that Renault's first reaction was to run to the race stewards and request a review of the incident. It was under investigation before the cars were all back in the pits  You guys all drove that track last week, you want to tell me even someone of Schumi's caliber could engineer such a perfect "convenient" incident, generating just the right amount of oversteer into the turn, doing so without evidence for a penalty, including missing the wall by about an inch? Give me a break

well, I'll tend to agree, sort of
problem is that he has a history of simular "mishaps" when he was younger.
Don't get me wrong. I've followed his career before he made it to F1, and while he may not be Senna, he will go down in history.
It's just his line entering into racasse' ... wasn't on line ...
What is done is done :) .... going to make a hell of a race !

I guess it's true, we should all be certain Schumi would never, ever, even consider doing anything under-handed to assure himself of the pole at Monte Carlo.

And it would be quite difficult for a seven-times World Champion to figure out how to drive it in just hard enough to over-brake and slide the rears just a bit after turn-in and then stop gently before touching the fence.

So, what do the race stewards know that we don't?

"I went wide, I locked the wheels. I wasn't sure what was going on," Schumacher said.

Time sent, will be slow this week i think!

Missed the F1 quali, was watching WSB instead. And doing all the prep work for a mass BBQ/WSB/BEER fest tomorrow afternoon!

Being a good cook is a blessing and a curse. The foods great, but the prep is a real PITA.

Good luck all!

Neil

Time sent :grumpy: it's not quick by any means
Just too busy with everything that's been going on here. I have a feeling the race I turn in is going to be the same :indiff: as I'll barely have enough time to log one in before I have to tear down the whole system :ouch:

I hear you Neil, I'm one of the ones that does all the cooking. I don't mind the prep work so long as the booze holds out :sly: You should see me with a knife ...er.... on second thought .... maybe that isn't such a good idea :sly:

schumacher will start in 22nd... side by side with crashing massa. haha, schumacher got Fu%$#@

as for JGTC, i´m already waiting the results, this time i didn´t forgot to send my time

Whelp, didn't manage to find any time to go at it again. I'm glad I put in a decent effort in my first stint, who knows how it'll hold up... Can't wait for the results!

While we wait for the boss to post the results ... back to Shumie..

Will this incident, his being put in the back of the grid, now change his mind about retiring ? ... Also, Fizzy got dropped 10 spots for basicly holding up Coultard ... the new qualifying rears it's ugly head ... Checked the F1 site to find out what was going on... hmm... technical data supported it ? I'd had to be the one to call this, but we all know "Bernie" isn't exactly the "fuzzy wuzzy" of motorsports :indiff: .... now the ? is, can Shumie crawl up the ladder to hit points ? Remember, they start on their fuel that they had for the final qual session... or does he get to stuff the tank now that he's put in the back ? ... not the fight I wanted to see at Monico between him and Alanso :grumpy: .... as we found out last week, passing someone on this track :scared:

GT300 participation...wow :D
GT500 participation...da suxor

The more and more this thing goes, the more unbalanced it gets. I'm disappointed GT500 guys.

well, congrats to the poles, speacially miguel with a great time. don´t know what heppened with jctraduz, appie, VTR and driven USA, they race all the time... i hope they get back for the race... that would make 11 drivers... minus curtis, we would get 10... looks like the rest quit. that´s very sad...

looks like i lost 0´3 in the first sector... guess my top speed is not that great...

 Thanks for the quick post there Eats'

👍 To the podium guys

7 ? GT500 :ouch:

 GT300 - new pole -

knew I wasn't going to do well this week, considering everything, but DAMN! LOL :) .... doesn't bode well for me.

Nice way to fill out the grid GT300 guys! Congrats on the podiums guys. I don't think I could've come up with another .6 unless I spent another 3 or more hours on it. Decently happy with what my first hour or so stint provided me with though... :)

Lightweight seems to have done well this week, eh? Now, if only I had my power back... This race is going to be good...

Eats, I'm soooo sorry. Today (27th) was my birthday and I received a last minute invitation to dinner at my best friend's and they did me a surprise party. When I got home it was too late to send the time and I forgot to send before going away. Not sure what it means for the race since it is the first time I don't send a result. All over it, If I had sent the time, it would be a pole (1.37.002), since I'm so light and did a lot of laps to get a good time...

Sorry to my team mate and all the other pilots who sent the times.

Edit - do I get any penalty for the race? And should I mention it in my final time, or you'll add it to my real time?

*10 secs penalty on the race time for full-timers not submitting on qualification*

I guess so. You give me your real race time, I'm the one adding the penalties.

I'm equal and fair with everyone, all get the same treatment and I think a couple can back this up.

Happy 39th birthday Jose.

Damn, us old guys sucked this week...Neil...J.R....me ! Congrats to the fast guys this week!

Oh yeah, eats is an equal opportunity penalizer...although I didn't bother with an excuse cause I know it would not have made any difference. There are no excuses...only results count. Hey eats how would we know if YOU were late?:):)
