But if you do go lock to lock in an instant the smoothing aids on the pad help a great deal in ensuring you get the correct countersteering angle. Once again you wax lyrical on a subject you show little knowledge of.
I am going by what you have said in a previous thread and I'm pretty sure you mentioned about there being some form of steering assists when driving with 270 degrees which sounds similar to what is with a pad. There is always normal steering too for 900 degree.

You do not get the same smoothing effects with a wheel as you do with a pad.

That is understandable in that is the advantage wheel users have in that they can turn the steering in precision of degrees while pad is limited and is more vague. I think it is better if we take this to PM if you want to discuss this further.

So we were talking about the wheel were we?

Get that new firmware on JB..
I want to see a video of you on Laguna Seca with a F355 Challenge giving it plenty of Clarkson cockyness!!!

Cheesy rock music is optional :)

Not sure if you have a manual gearbox hooked up to your Elite wheel Jon.

Be nice to compare ACL, against traditional shifting. I suspect they are equal. Shifting at the same revs etc.

No need for a video though, just your findings would be nice if you have that setup.

Yep, at the end of that last vid I show the 'H' Shifter and how without using the clutch pedal with ACL on it damages the gearbox, yet when you do use the Clutch Pedal it's just as fast.

LOL Yeah I seem to remember talking about something in this thread like that ....

Got the firmware and it is OUTSTANDING!

Oh excellent you got it on...

Have you noticed how the FFB feels stronger at 900 degrees than say at 400 degrees?
70-80% seems comfortable.

The lack of FFB not working properly within the 11-1 clock positions which FM4 suffered with pre patch on the old firmware is gone totally. The FFB now doesnt just kick in it feels progressive. Catching the cars now is a bit easier, still needs skill but can be done. The F355 is so easy to throw around yet so enjoyable.

Spagetti refers to the LIN. I do use it on some cars that feel twitchy with lower wheel rotation settings. It helps smooth out any creases/spikes in sensitivity so keep one of my presets with it to 20 for simple comparison.

I completely disagree. If I could even suggest some sort of 80's US rock anthem that would take the Seca run to new highs.... especially if driving a vette. :D

I was making a poke at F355 Challenge from Sega 👍
Im a 80s teen man myself.

LOL... when I remember 80's and games and rock I remember stuff like this.

Although a famous 80's anthem is still this one I think.

Anyhow... I'll just drive to anything that fits my mood and rhythm at that time. Like the Stig... he plays whatever fits him best at that moment as well. lol

ahahahaha... soooo good. I'm a sucker for that song / flick. I can't say I've ever tried listening to spanish lady gaga or learn portuguese while driving.

I'll pass on anything Gaga  or Bustin Jieber or whoever he is. I heard a second of both and I'd rather hear fingers nails on a black board. :ouch:

What I usually listen to is stuff like this (or just the pure music from the engines, exhausts and rubber on the road)...

Some Initial D eurobeat for fun sake...

Or some Japanese rap while drifting... (Song is: Soul'd out - tokyo tsushin urbs communication)

Nice review Jonboy and really diggin' that Gamepod Evo. I might grab one if I move to Lakenheath next year :)

So how well does the CSR Elite work with the G27 pedals? I never used my G27 pedals with the Fanatec, so this will be my first time when my Elite wheel w/adapter arrives. Please let me know when you have time. I just mainly want to know if the axis controls are accurately responsive with no delays or such. Thanks man!

I'm having major dramas at the moment, so will be offline for a while.

Lightning struck my house in the early hours of Thursday morning

The ECU is wiped out in my Car, Our Boiler exploded, our TV ariel, DVD Recorder, Sky TV Box, Phone, Router, XBox, PS3 & Printer all got fried I got blown across the landing and we had 3 small fires in the house and we now have no heating in the house. We're counting ourselves lucky to be alive and didn't think things could've got much worse until ....

Today, our Fish tank burst!!!!!

So I've just had 180 Litres of stinky water all over anything left that didn't take damage before!

It's OK the Elite is still alive! But obviously my priorities have taken a massive change, so my review videos will have to wait a while.

Sorry, I'll do my best to catch up once I'm back up and running, but I doubt I'll be able to do any more until after Christmas and I have no idea when I'll be back online.

Cheers,

JB

Big pile of suck jonboy!!! Glad you and your family are all ok.

Good luck on getting life back to normal man!

Holy Sheet! Inconvenient and a bad time of the year for this trauma but at least you and the family are okay. Possessions can be replaced; people cannot. Sounds like it could have been much, much worse.

I hope things get back to normal for you soon and you have the best Christmas you can under the circumstances :)

Do not worry about the review! Attend to "homeageddon" and we'll hear from you when we hear from you. Let's discontinue 2011 and wish you a better 2012.

Darn, a little girl having to miss her mom and now this. Bad luck all around it seems. :(

I hope you're able to get everything sorted. The review will have to wait for whenever.
I hope things will go better in 2012.

Good luck Jonboy! I hope everything gets sorted out quickly for you so that you may have a nice Christmas at least.

Sorry to hear about this freak accident and serious unfortunate circumstance your in.
Hope the house insurance covers you.

Man that sucks, it happened to a friend of mine. They lost almost everything that was electrical, computers, microwave, washer dryer etc.. Consider installing a whole house ground fault protector in the future. All the best jonboy.

Sorry to hear that man. I hope you had insurance to cover the electrical damage. That's a good chunk of money to replace all those nice things.:(

Thanks everyone for the messages, we just had a new router delivered so at least I've got internet access. Unfortunately I'm gonna have a long wait for the insurance to pull their fingers out before I can replace the XBox and PS3...but we might have some heating in the house in a couple of days.

Only just seen this. Glad everyone is ok and hope everything gets back to normal for you ASAP mate.
