I was hoping to not see this, completely sad and gut-wrenching.

This is horrible, and it completely ruined my night.:( Rest in peace Jules, you won't be forgotten. Enjoy your racetrack in heaven, with a proper V10 F1.:(

He was a talented young driver who had such great potential. The racing world will miss him dearly. His time in our world was cut too short, but we can take solace in the fact that he is in a better place now, at Heaven's racetrack. Rest in peace Jules, you will be dearly missed. :(

Utterly, utterly gutted.

There really needs to be closed cockpits ASAP.

I'd rather we didn't open that can of worms again through another knee-jerk similar to what we saw immediately after his accident. But such a cockpit wouldn't have prevented him from crashing. And given the speed he was travelling at (considerably higher than it ought to have been given the conditions), I seriously doubt it would have changed the outcome in this instance.

RIP

I think now is not the time to discuss what safety measures need to be taken, I believe this is now the time to grieve and remember Jules...

And to think I have to step into a go-kart in a few hours to race. I'll have to do a little tribute to Jules...

I do wonder though, was his life support switched off?

RIP Mr. Bianchi. A young soul, still awaiting days of glory, taken away.

R.I.P Jules. Ayrton Senna and now you. Dang.

Jules' brightest hour, finishing 9th at Monaco in the minnow Marussia.

I would imagine it was switched off after a confirmation from the doctor that he had no hope, that's usually how it goes.:(

ong no? :(

i am utterly devastated to hear that :(

This... This is not happening. Tell me it's not happening!!!

As it turns out, Bianchi just want to play Nintendo with Iwata.

RIP

Very sad to read the news.

Rest In Peace, Jules

Wow, that's a shame. At least Michael has begun to show some signs of recovery and his doctors being optimistic about him being able to function somewhat normally in the coming years.

Regardless, what a shame, RIP Jules.

RIP Jules.
A death caused by the negligence of Charlie Whithing.

And now sadly what I would have called a future world champion has been added to a list that I wish would never have to be created:

Jules Bianchi, in 2015. He had such extraordinary talent. He will be deeply missed by the racing community and the world as a whole. My condolences to the relatives of Jules and the drivers.

Terrible news,

He disappeared in the dead of winter:
The brooks were frozen, the airports almost deserted,
And snow disfigured the public statues;
The mercury sank in the mouth of the dying day.
What instruments we have agree
The day of his death was a dark cold day.

Far from his illness
The wolves ran on through the evergreen forests,
The peasant river was untempted by the fashionable quays;
By mourning tongues
The death of the poet was kept from his poems.

But for him it was his last afternoon as himself,
An afternoon of nurses and rumours;
The provinces of his body revolted,
The squares of his mind were empty,
Silence invaded the suburbs,
The current of his feeling failed; he became his admirers.

Now he is scattered among a hundred cities
And wholly given over to unfamiliar affections,
To find his happiness in another kind of wood
And be punished under a foreign code of conscience.
The words of a dead man
Are modified in the guts of the living.

But in the importance and noise of to-morrow
When the brokers are roaring like beasts on the floor of the Bourse,
And the poor have the sufferings to which they are fairly accustomed,
And each in the cell of himself is almost convinced of his freedom,
A few thousand will think of this day
As one thinks of a day when one did something slightly unusual.

What instruments we have agree
The day of his death was a dark cold day.

Possibly. Shocks like this can sometimes make people or groups to do that.

there is nothing else to review though, the reality is it's a sad event that happened and the FIA and the rest of us were probably aware this could happen after such a traumatic accident as well as seeing a fellow driver die last year after a testing accident at slower speeds being succumbed to. The point is it has been reviewed, certain steps have been taken and I'm sure further steps will be taken in similar ways to what was done years after Henry Surtees death happened and the FIA implemented the number and way the spring tethers should be placed to prevent that from happening.

It's a sad event but doing another review at this point wont do anything

Jules Bianchi's death is a needlessly cruel twist of fate. To me, seeing an extraordinary, beloved talent die so young is even sadder than seeing even the greatest champions go. :(

I think a Lap 17 VSC would be a good tribute for the next race, no one gains an advantage and it highlights a lesson learned.
Don't see it happening but that would be cool to watch.

They could do what MotoGP did for Marco Simoncelli, where they had the whole grid (along with Moto2 and 3) revving their engines, making as much noise as possible. It probably wouldn't be quite as impressive with the current generation engines but it feels more fitting than a minutes silence.

EDIT: At least that's what I remember happening. Wikipedia mentions only a tribute lap, which would also be fitting.

RIP Jules, never forget his points finish at one of the most iconic tracks.

Race among the legends to have left us when you can never be hurt.
