Read the edit... Nice picture though
Took me a while to find the picture among all of the pictures I have.

:P

Any news about the race?

Just wondering, in indycar and NASCAR races, races have been run the next day if they are rained out and have not completed half the distance (NASCAR). Can F1 re-schedule a race for Monday morning in Japan so that the fans don't have to feel like they threw a few hundred dollars into a fire? That should still give the teams time to get to Sochi.
There's no chance of a Monday race as the weather is going to be at it's worst, plus it cuts into their needing to get out of Japan on Monday morning to be ready for Sochi 2 days later. NASCAR/Indycar also don't have to travel 1000s of miles around the world between races on top of having to get cars prepped for the next race, and F1 isn't like NASCAR where the teams have cars ready 2-3 races in advance most of the time.

No. It takes several hours to pack up and ship everything out, and they're due in Russia on Wednesday. Bear in mind that Sochi and Suzuka are about ten time zones apart, so everyone is going to have monster jetlag as is.

Besides, Phanfone is sitting off the coast right now. It's expected to make landfall in about 24 hours. If the teams stay in Japan, they're stuck in Japan.

Ok now I feel like an idiot thinking of a race happening on Monday and that it was stupid of F1 to have these races only a week apart.

They couldn't predict a typhoon when the calendar was set. And even if they could have predicted it, typhoons are erratic at best. Even as late as this time yesterday, there were typhoon models that suggested it would miss the circuit entirety.

Besides, with a six-race flyaway stretch, the teams needed a three-week break part way through in order to service their cars. But the longer the gaps between the races, the later the season will run, and it already runs pretty late as is.

This is a case of force majeure. It's nobody's fault.

I'm surprised Godzilla isn't scared off by Maldonado's ability to wreck things.

It's not stupid when you consider the races they'd to attend this year. It's just they're at the wrong time this weekend.

if they had the race a week before as they where only at Singapore last and then have two weeks till sochi it would of made much more sense.

So I just got up at 6.10am and I hope there is some sort of race, watching it on Sky and they said the is a bit on the light side right now...

Does anyone know the best stream to view the race on an HTC mobile?

Cars heading to the grid... Doesn't look too bad out there.

Yeah. I just hope they won't be starting behind safety car.
At least if the condition stay the way they're now.

I really can't see this race happening. Could be a long few hours.

Perez off track onto the gravel on way to the grid, Button complains of lack of vision on team radio....

The condition doesn't look worst like the Sepang 2009. Heck, this one reminds me of Spa 1998 edition.

Looks like they'll start on Safety car, Esteban Gutierrez was being interviewed when he was asked a question regarding the race start, and as he was answering, it started to rain harder.

Safety car start confirmed....

My best guess would be half-point finish today.

If they stop the safety car & race and the FIA starts doing their "update in 15mins" thing I'm going to bed. I've been through that before, it might as well be update telling you to go to bed every 15 mins.

Have a feeling we'll only get 5 laps of this.

Keep talking guys, I'm far from a TV.

Apparently this is the first time this season that we have a wet race....

Rain intensified. Sepang 2009 all over again.
