Thanks guys - been taking advantage of the PSN downtime to get back to testing my "standard" collection :)

The Alfa GT
GT244_AlfaGT1.jpg

Was not so inspiring
GT244_AlfaGT2.jpg

The Amuse S2000 however...
GT244_Amuse20001.jpg

Less Amusing and more Amazing!
GT244_Amuse20002.jpg

Blistering performance and road holding
GT244_Amuse20003.jpg

A little tune to get the balance right and this could be my new favourite
GT244_Amuse20004.jpg

I was pleasantly surprised by this Aussie race car
GT244_AussieTC1.jpg

I still think it is butt ugly though
GT244_AussieTC2.jpg

Ah... I call this the Blitzenwagen - it came with comfort hard tyres out of the UCD and handled like a dream...
GT244_Blitzsky1.jpg

...but only in a straight line!
GT244_Blitzsky2.jpg

Old Nissan Silvia was quite a pleasant drive
GT244_BSilv1.jpg

GT244_BSilv2.jpg

I was excited about getting my hands on the E-Type
GT244_Etype1.jpg

Sponge-cake suspension
GT244_Etype2.jpg

I spent most of the lap looking like this - it would have killed me several times over!
GT244_Etype3.jpg

This Honda Civic, not sure which version as I have so many...
GT244_GrnCivi1.jpg

...was one of the better handling Civics I have tried
GT244_GrnCivi2.jpg

I loved this old Mitsubishi Galant
GT244_OGalant1.jpg

So much fun
GT244_OGalant2.jpg

Yet another RX7
GT244_GrnRx71.jpg

Nearly always a fun drive
GT244_GrnRx72.jpg

I was surprised by this performance Jaguar
GT244_Jagperm1.jpg

GT244_Jagperm2.jpg

Not as surprised as I was with this Legacy
GT244_Legacy1.jpg

Absolutely gorgeous drive
GT244_Legacy2.jpg

Nothing much to say about this BMW M Coupe
GT244_Mcoupe1.jpg

Although in typical girlie fashion - I like the colour
GT244_Mcoupe2.jpg

Touring in the Merc
GT244_MercTC1.jpg

GT244_MercTC2.jpg

I am not entirely sure why a turbo was wasted on this car!
GT244_MiraX1.jpg

Entertaining on a tight circuit though
GT244_MiraX2.jpg

Unlike this Citroen
GT244_MonCit1.jpg

This car was the very definition of understeer
GT244_MonCit2.jpg

The Nissan Primera
GT244_NPrim1.jpg

Drove as you would expect it too
GT244_NPrim2.jpg

As did this older RX7
GT244_Oldrx71.jpg

GT244_Oldrx72.jpg

I can't remember what this thing is called
GT244_Orangething1.jpg

Not sure I want to remember
GT244_Orangething2.jpg

I definitely remember this old Nissan Silvia
GT244_OSilv1.jpg

Fantastic fun to drive
GT244_OSilv2.jpg

Pao
GT244_Pao1.jpg

Nice styling... I think
GT244_Pao2.jpg

Protege
GT244_Protege1.jpg

Nothing to see here... move along
GT244_Protege2.jpg

Ah... yet another MX-5, Roadster, Miata
GT244_PurpMX51.jpg

GT244_PurpMX52.jpg

Yet another Skyline
GT244_Rskyline1.jpg

This one very nearly wiped me out though
GT244_Rskyline2.jpg

I was bitterly disappointed with this RX7
GT244_Rx7TC1.jpg

I kept misreading that logo as 'Viagra' too
GT244_Rx7TC2.jpg

Ah... S2000 - loved the metallic lime green
GT244_S2000grnn1.jpg

It came with the wrong tyres though - a total cow to control
GT244_S2000grnn2.jpg

This one, however (and yes it is a different model S2000)...
GT244_S200green1.jpg

Was fabulous fun
GT244_S200green2.jpg

This was not fun
GT244_Sight1.jpg

The Insight
GT244_Sight2.jpg

Worth taking 3 shots - I won't be driving it again
GT244_Sight3.jpg

This Skyline rocked!
GT244_Silsky1.jpg

Must be the wing
GT244_Silsky2.jpg

This old MR2 rocked as well
GT244_SqMR21.jpg

Underpowered, only the 1600, but beautifully balanced
GT244_SqMR22.jpg

The Jaguar S-Type had balance and poise in abundance
GT244_Stype1.jpg

GT244_Stype2.jpg

Unlike this Takata NSX - in fact the textures were so hideously lo-res that...
GT244_Takata1.jpg

...they distracted me so much!
GT244_Takata2.jpg

One of the best used cars I have found in GT5 so far
GT244_TouringBeam1.jpg

Stunning to drive - right out of the box
GT244_TouringBeam2.jpg

This Vibe gave me vibes...
GT244_Vibe1.jpg

None of them were good
GT244_Vibe2.jpg

I had some fun in this Viper though
GT244_Vip1.jpg

GT244_Vip2.jpg

Not as much fun as I had in this one though!
GT244_ViperTC1.jpg

GT244_ViperTC2.jpg

...and finally
GT244_YellRx71.jpg

Yet another variation of the RX7
GT244_YellRx72.jpg

Hope you liked them - more to come soon, including how I almost killed my virtual self in the Jenson Interceptor ;)

Very nice update. First Legacy and E-Type shot are amazing.

And V8 Super cars aren't made to look beautiful, they're made to be monsters.

I really enjoy reading those captions 👍 All photos are solid in composition. Some of photos even well present the beauty of standard cars.

I don't think I ever want to take pics of standards as some of them are just damn ugly and trees in GT5 looks disgusting too>_<

But nice to see you actually bother to take pics of standards.

Love the PAO! :D
If you enjoyed the PAO, you should try the BE-1, the Honda N360, and especially the Honda Z Act. (Upgrade the Z Act, put it on racing tires, and run it through the k-cup seasonal tracks - it's a kooky zoomy funny little car!)

Obviously I'm not a premium snob. LOL :D
Most of my favourite cars are not "premium". Wish all cars were, but they're not, and I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying all the cars the game has! (Except maybe not all 30-something Skylines. haha)

Another update in the standard car diary! Like it! :dopey:
Tried drifting with the BP/Falken RX-7 an the Blitz R34? I've got the RX-7 myself but haven't tried it yet.

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

@Jason_B very true, it would appear that those V8's are indeed designed purely to be monsters

@franz thank you, I just like to share my thoughts on these cars and glad you like the captions

@catastrophe I know a lot of the standard cars are really rather ugly but there are some hidden gems amongst them

@watermelonpunch if you follow my thread back a little you'll see that some of the most fun I have had has been in the little, often overlooked, cars ;)

@[Nor]MclarenF1 I couldn't get the Falken Rx7 to drift at all and when I tried it in the Blitzenwagen it just ate me for breakfast lol

@ceiling_fan thank you so much, that is the first time I have used the partial colour filter. I steer away from filters as they can be overused but it just felt like the right thing to do for that shot.

How did You make that Partial Color Filter work (Fantastic work).Love the Takata (I know I know)shots as well as the First Legacy Shot  .

Some of the cars you tried are well lets just say You are a brave one 👍

Thanks guys :)

I don't know why there is so little love for some of these standards - the physics modelling of them is so unique between each model it really is a joy to try them all out, even the insignificant seeming cars can provide a lot of fun ;)

I just realised it has been exactly a month since I last uploaded a batch of GT pictures... time for another update I think! :)

The Amuse S2000
GT5_2405_AmuseS1.jpg

Nice to look at
GT5_2405_GrS20003.jpg

Bit of a handful though
GT5_2405_AmuseS2.jpg

Mazda Atenza - nothing noteworthy
GT5_2405_Atenza1.jpg

GT5_2405_Atenza2.jpg

This Autobacs MR2 was outstanding!
GT5_2405_AutoBMR1.jpg

GT5_2405_AutoBMR2.jpg

Wonderfully balanced
GT5_2405_AutoBMR3.jpg

Not all MX-5's are the same - this one was great fun to 'play' with
GT5_2405_BlMX51.jpg

GT5_2405_BlMX52.jpg

Though the Camaro was quite, well, bland
GT5_2405_Camaro1.jpg

GT5_2405_Camaro2.jpg

A beautiful Corvette
GT5_2405_CorvR1.jpg

That ate me alive and spat out the bones!
GT5_2405_CorvR2.jpg

Nissan Fairlady Roadster
GT5_2405_FairS1.jpg

Not a bad drive - well balanced
GT5_2405_FairS2.jpg

GT5_2405_FairS3.jpg

This GT2000 almost killed me
GT5_2405_G20001.jpg

Handling was worse than the Jaguar E-type
GT5_2405_G20002.jpg

Yet another NSX
GT5_2405_GrnNSX1.jpg

GT5_2405_GrnNSX2.jpg

I had some awesome fun in this S2000
GT5_2405_GrS20001.jpg

I could have drifted it all day long
GT5_2405_GrS20002.jpg

This S2000, a different model apparently, was not so much fun
GT5_2405_GyS20001.jpg

I did manage quite a rooster-tail out of it though
GT5_2405_GyS20002.jpg

The Jenson Interceptor was quite a challenge
GT5_2405_Intercept1.jpg

Bear in mind I test all these used cars exactly as they arrive - no tuning, no change of tyres (except rally cars) and no oil change
GT5_2405_Intercept2.jpg

I suspect a little tuning would make this a real treat to drive
GT5_2405_Intercept3.jpg

This Lancer was one of the nicest Rally Cars 'out of the box' that I have tested
GT5_2405_LanceR1.jpg

GT5_2405_LanceR2.jpg

Nicely balanced with predictable handling
GT5_2405_LanceR3.jpg

Shame about the 8bit pixelation in the smoke - come on PD, you can do better!
GT5_2405_LanceR4.jpg

This is supposedly different to the other one I have - look and drive identical to me
GT5_2405_MazTC1.jpg

This, errrr, Mazda something... I don't even remember driving it!
GT5_2405_MazYelR1.jpg

I remember this piece of classic muscle though
GT5_2405_Mercury1.jpg

Total soft suspension fun!
GT5_2405_Mercury2.jpg

GT5_2405_Mercury3.jpg

I could not keep the Mines Lancer on the track!
GT5_2405_Mines1.jpg

It did arrive from the UCD with comfort hard tyres though
GT5_2405_Mines2.jpg

Yet another MX5
GT5_2405_OrMx51.jpg

GT5_2405_OrMx52.jpg

Another NSX - though this one was torturous on the track
GT5_2405_OrNSX1.jpg

GT5_2405_OrNSX2.jpg

GT5_2405_OrNSX3.jpg

Pink and Fit? is that even possible?
GT5_2405_PinkFit1.jpg

Uninspiring is the word
GT5_2405_PinkFit2.jpg

How ugly is the Opel Roadster?
GT5_2405_Spds1.jpg

I have driven vans that handled better!
GT5_2405_Spds2.jpg

Don't dismiss the little guys...
GT5_2405_SuzWag1.jpg

This Suzuki Wagon was great fun around a tight track
GT5_2405_SuzWag2.jpg

This TVR surprised me too
GT5_2405_TVR1.jpg

Managed my 2nd fastest time on the Top Gear Track
GT5_2405_TVR2.jpg

Quite a looker too
GT5_2405_TVR3.jpg

Last but not least - The Loctite Zexel Nissan Skyline
GT5_2405_Zex1.jpg

One word - Astounding! Oh yes, this was a blast!
GT5_2405_Zex2.jpg

Hope you liked them - testing continues :)

im really digging the subtle editing on your photos. Its a good change of pace. Keep em comin :)

Thanks guys :) .... I just use Lightroom to adjust the balance on tonal qualities, exposure and mayble a little vignetting - cropping of course, but other than that no photoshop editing at all :)

Glad you like them.
