Just sent a 20m car after 1.07 - no problems!

There is still one way to send expensive cars after 1.07. No joke, but you have to be in a very specific situation with your gift tickets:

I had the game at launch and within a week of someone finding the birthday glitch I had friends gifting me 20m cars. I didn't want them (didn't agree with anything in my garage I hadn't earned) so never 'cashed' the gift tickets. I just left them in my delivery trailer untouched.

Later, I decided that even that was corrupting my clean save so transferred them to a sub account and forgot about them (i.e. they weren't used there either, just sat as tickets). So reading this about 1.07 today made me fire up the sub account and see if I could transfer a ticket back if it had never been used as a car. And it worked fine. 330 P4 Race Car '67 ticket if anyone's bothered.

So, tickets for cars >1m that have never been cashed in can still be transferred. Not just level tickets or 1000 tickets but specific car tickets.

**EDIT** It seems the block on sending expensive cars is only between PS3s, transferring tickets or cars between user accounts on the same PS3 is unaffected. Only one a day per PS3 though obviously.

Sorry, wasn't trying to make you feel guilty, it's just the way these things work unfortunately. Keep it to yourself, you're selfish, advertise it, lose it!! :indiff:
 
I have loads of cars that are over 1 million in my delivery truck.
Anyone wanna test this out with me?
 
Please delete this thread now that I know it and have about 70 cars of which many 1mill plus in gift tickets.

Yep. Same for lots of cars. Badly thought out by PD. I love this game but so many potentially great features have been kneecapped by strange decisions. X1 should have been untradeable like stealth cars for example.

Do you know the origin of the ticket though? I'll bet it has been a 'car' at some point and then transferred making it a ticket again. It definitely works!

I don't know! I've sent one so I'm done for today but 1/1 - 100% success rate for me. It might be any ticket, not just 'natural born' ones. The guy who said it didn't work had tried to send a car, not a ticket.
 
Verified it. Just gifted a 2 million GT Citroen Road Car, running GT Asia edition.

Apparently Kaz tweeted at 7pm this evening about putting up a fix in 3 hours, and probably apologised about the 1-mil limit. Seems like a server-side update, so no new patch required.

Apparently the 1-car-per-PS3 per-day limit still stands.

Not sure that's gonna work. You can't do anything online (i.e. transfer a car) without updating I thought? Everyone would have come up with that before now!

Exactly. Without updating, you can't run the game and be online.
