I just drove a kart for the very first time on Saturday. It was really fun.
I had to start out on the little 6.5 HP, "learner" kart, but I was surprised at how fast that thing would go. I had an average lap speed of 37mph.
I needed to set a lap time of under 56.0 seconds to be able to drive on the 25 HP karts.
I set a fast lap of 54.609 so I qualifyed, but I didn't get a chance to run one due to weather. But the next time I go, I'll get to ride with the big boys  which I'm really looking forward to.

It was a lot of fun. Especially beating all my friends. :)

Kart racer I am not no little baby. The thing goes 65 on a 1/5 of a mile oval. But anyway, I got second place in my first race but I could of had first. the officials put me in the back of the pack after i had just taken the lead and a car spun ;oh well. It was fun. Oh and dorifto i am going to try to convince my dad into letting me drive 2 cycles in a couple of years over at NHIS so I can get a feel for the track before I move up to cars.

Just having some fun with you.I respect everyone who tries this sport.and when you do get to drive the 2 stroke,I know you will enjoy it.Just wait until you can get on a bigger track with one and hit 100mph.You will never stop grinning.

I won on sunday. It was awsome. 2nd place was atleast 3/4 of the track behind me. and the last place car I lapped 2. I am racing this sunday to for a 40 lap feature instead of a 25.

i just went karting yesterday. it was freakin fun. it was like the grand opening of this place, http://www.speedindoorracing.com

helmet barely fit my head lol. and i had to squeeze in my legs...not to mention the fact that my ribs were too big for the seat, but i managed. i could never probably set a record though due to my size and weight, but it was still pretty fun. Jenners from Big 106 (dunno if theres any south floridians here), the classic rock station, was there, and i raced him.

yeah. lol.

Oval racing isn't to big up here in saskatchewan but we do put on a demo at the local 1/3 mile oval. The funny thing is,they make us run a certain gear to keep the speed down as the first time we ran there, we ran faster than the stock cars, also, put on a better show with all of the drafting. The crowed loved it.The stock car guys hated us for it and said the changes were for our own good.Ya,right.

When you loose your pipe, the noise is unreal but you loose a ton of power. And being a race offical,it hurts when you go by.

Does stars have a TAG series? I am still relativly new to karting. I start racing this summer.

They have easykart 125, which is just like rotax, with a HPV-type motor. If its olny your first year, i suggest you stay out of this searies, about 500$ a race without traveling.

Coolest thing is im going to be at sears point for our race, while the ALMS is going to racing. Maby if somone at GTP is there they could drop by and say hi.

Hey Nick, we run I.K.F up here. Seem to be the only club in this part of the country. We manly run the Yamaha class, just started up a rotax class. We are a small club(about 30 racers) but we have a blast. How did you do at the star search race?

Star search, haha. Its Stars of Karting, i got a 2nd (had to start dead last in the main due to not having a washer on the spark plug) on saturday. Then on suday i won. :-)

We have IKF down here, its going down hill fast with the WKA and Stars programs acelling.

That's sweet I live about 45 minutes away from Sears Point and it's where I run a lot. Also I may be going to the ALMS for like the third year in a row. Good stuff man!
