I won moran in the CART Stars of Tomorrow Championchi[s, also won the IKF region 7 race there, that track rules hard!

Grange is ok, too bumpy.
 
Nick doesn't like it when his ass touches the track.

I know a guy whose seat broke, so he was ass-first to the tarmac. How freakin' cool is that!?

When I was at Grange I was the only one on the track except for some guy in a shifter...Jim was there but he was helping build some new building there.

Man how do you like shootin' down that mad downhill wall type turn at Moran??? I was gettin heavy understeer at the bottom of it but that should be solved soon because next time I go down there I will be on YDH soft tires.

That looks like some sort of Honda motor on the side of that hire kart, if so its the same sort that we use where I work

You're leaning to the wrong side and holding the wheel dead-wrong.

You shouldn't be leaning forward, at all, keep the weight on the back.

Indeed, he should be leaning the other way, and at least have a hand either side of the wheel

With the leaning forward bit sn00pie, what if you have some undeersteer? I wouldve thought that getting some weight over the fronts would provide some more grip at the front

(I have only driven inside, not outside so the lat comment was based purely on my experience on an inside concrete track)

Divide the kart into four parts, wheels (1/4), chassis (2/4), chassis (3/4), wheels (4,4)
By leaning forward you put weight on the 2/4 part, your seat is located on the 3/4 part, this causes stress to the chassis, because you're basically tilting the chassis in a position where it'd want to bury itself into the tarmac, with the 1/4 part (front wheels) keepin it up straight, thus creating an angle in the chassis.

The tracks are good, some are pretty old, you dont see many road courses here, Robeling Road is best for karts other than Road Atlanta, there is a lot of dirt tracks!:rolleyes:
 
Ya I would think there would be in the South considering the huge amount of NASCAR enthusiasum down there. Also speaking of Road Atlanta that would be sooo sweet to race superkarts or 125 shifters there. Have you been to any karting or other type of racing at the track???

Snoopie is right, but also you would lean as far back as you can so you get all the weight on the axel so it flexes. When your inside rear wheel is in the air, you are perfectly cornering.

EDIT*** Oh and this week somtime we are going out to willow springs to test out my Jr. Formula Y, got a WKA event comin out here soon :D

But seriously grange is really bumpy.
 
Ya but there are some fun parts to it, like on the last straight before the main going down that little hill was pretty fun. Still nothing compares to Moran or Sears Point.
 
We just had some Bridestone YHC tires put onto the kart. Unfortunatly the guy who mounted them put the white logo on the outside on 2 tires and on the inside on the other two:irked:

If there are any Norcal karters here, what clubs do you recomend? I have been to just about every track in the bay area and I was wondering if anyone who karts around here is joined with any of them.

Pretty cool. How fast can you go in that thing? I might get my son something like that when he's older. I got him a small 4x4 type offroad go-kart for Christmas, and he's having a ball with it.
 
So far i've been up to 72 mph but it is capable of 80-85 with the proper gearing.

How old's your kid? I could give you some advice about what class he could be in/what kart to use.

Holy crap! 80-85MPH!

He'll be eight in a month, so I think the cart you use is way out of his league.

Do you have any web links that are good to visit, or catalogs I should request?

I'm just letting you know karting is NOT cheap. But don't let this intimidate you. You can probably find a used baby kart chassis with everything you need for pretty cheap. Try and get a chassis that is no more than 2-3 years old, as kart chassis are pretty beat up after that many years. You can find a simple 50 cc engine for relativly cheap as well.
