The Bug doesn't look real anymore. I'm still a long way from that, but at least I can carbon fiber, I just did the mirrors on the infamous Z pic since the hood's been overdone.

No, it's a photo. My flash drive is broken so i have to use real photos at the moment!
 
That looks good but you can barely tell it's been CF'd. Try keeping the pattern bigger.
 
How about a Maserati?



The way I do my pattern is to set the blending mode to overlay, then lower the opacity accordingly, depending on the car.

can you do the hood on this, I don't know if reflections or brightness affect it but here it is.

I also twirl it, transform the perspective, set the blending mode to overlay and reduce the opacity.
