I have to say... WHAT A GAME!!! I've fallen out of love with the COD franchise, after MW2 getting hacked, and Black Ops being pants (talk about a case study in how to destroy a franchise!), so I was looking for a quality FPS to fill the void, and I've found it in KZ3! GG seem to have taken on board the problems with KZ2, ironed them out, and presented them in the slick format that is KZ3.
First thing I have to say, is that GG have finally got on board with left-handed gamers (and left-handed COD gamers too!) I could not understand why (in KZ2), being a left-handed gamer, that I was restricted to three very poor pad configurations. Whilst, if memory serves me, right-handed gamers had twice as many configuration options. I'm glad GG rectified that, and It's also nice to see that GG are embracing COD gamers with some very freindly controls - Bravo! 👍
Graphically this game is in a league of its own! Coming from COD, you realise how sparse, and small the levels are in comparrison. The level of detail in this game is insane - far beyond what I thought the PS3 was capable of! GG should recieve massive ammounts of worship, never mind praise, because this game is visually stunning!!!
The perk system in KZ3 is superb. I never liked the perk system in KZ2 as it felt like a half-assed re-make of COD4s perk system, but not now! Each class has it's own strengths and weaknesses and there is plenty of scope to either specialise in a couple or generalise in a few. I'm loving the infiltrator, as the class causes absolute mayhem, especially on the Kaznan Jungle!

I would like more weapons per class, but maybe that is for an update, but as it stands, there is good variety.
Shooting in KZ3 is excellent - not quite hardcore, but not far off either. I'm also learning to shoot a gun again, thanks to the abscence of aim asist. Coming from COD you do realise how much that game wipes your ass for you! Accuracy is important too, more so than in COD, and spot-on shooting can mean the difference between a quick kill, or an untimely death.
The three game modes are great too. Guerilla warfare is good to start with, but the game really opens up when you choose Warfare or Operations. Warfare is my favorite, and whilst the game modes are just fancy reworkings of the (now standard) COD game modes, GG does an excellent job of making them their own. Special Operations is great too, story driven multiplayer, is something I have never experienced before in an FPS, but I like it alot. It's also cool to see yourself in the cuts scenes, making you want to work that little bit harder to appear in the next.
The only gripe I have with KZ3 so far, is the self-revive perk for the medic. It is proper annoying to have to do an almost 360 degree turn, to get back onto your feet. I guess GG are trying to simulate how you would get back on your feet (you can see your feet, and legs btw!), but it does kinda get in the way of the perk. Still, it's great to get downed, and then self-revive behind the guy that just shot you as he is reloading, and then slit his throat!
I could go on forever aboiut this game, as there are so many little details that keep popping into my head, safe to say that GG have surpassed themsevles with this game, both visually and in gameplay. Maybe, perhaps, this could be the game to challege COD on the PS3?
Oh yeah, one last thing -
WE NEED MORE MECHS! a lot more!
