Very nice! Are those lightening cuts near the base of the blade or do those cuts help with the stability?
Good question. I suspect both overall weight and balance are affected, but blade stiffness is likely the top reason. I'll ask the armorer and the maestro next time I see them.

Time to bring back some life in this thread.

I decided to forget about the Spyderco Tenacious and go for one of their better knives - the Delica. I definitely have no regrets. It's a nice, light, compact knife that looks and feels great. It's razor sharp out of the box too so no complaints there. I'll admit the FRN handle does look a bit cheap but it is grippy and has a good feel so I don't really mind.

Specs
Overall length : 7 1/8"
Blade length : 2 7/8"
Blade Steel: VG-10
Grip: Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon

Also picked up a basic Swiss Army Knife to replace an old, generic multi tool that is quite literally falling apart and a Smith's knife sharpener to keep everything sharp.

Good choice, the Delica is a solid step up from the Tenacious. VG-10 holds a nice edge and the FRN may look plain but it’s super practical for grip and weight. If you ever want to check out more traditional blades, EverestForge has some beautiful hand-forged swords with that same balance of function and craftsmanship.
