Lamborghini 550PP Exclusive.

Beat the Ring after quite a few tries. Definitely one of the harder events yet in the game. In case anybody wants another setup to try here's what I used.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 '08

All non-PP increasing mods. All aero mods.

Had to reduce engine power to keep it at 550pp after the aero mods and an oil change.

Rear aero: 15

Differential:
14f, 14r - Initial
35f, 48r - Acceleration
5f, 10r - Braking

Center Diff:
30f, 70r

Suspension:
-20f, -15r - Ride Height
8.0f, 18.0r -Spring Rate
7f, 3r - Dampers Ext.
4f, 3r - Dampers Comp.
2f, 5r - Anti-Roll Bars

Alignment:
1.5f, 1.7r - Camber Angle
-0.10f, -0.05r - Toe Angle

Brake Balance:
5f, 6r

This setup was created through the GTune5 app and it worked well for me. It gave a very neutral feel to the car.
 
Also, I think to win you just need to be within drafting distance of the lead car coming into the last straight. Most setups probably won't have the top end to keep up with, much less catch, the 1st place Miura on the final straight given its superior PP. Hope this helps somebody.

I think it depends on how much rear aero you run with. If I remember right, I ran with 5 or 10 because I was giving up too much power with 15. I was faster with more power and less grip, probably partly because the Gallardo seems to be happier sliding a bit through the turns anyway (at least, the way I drive it). I was a hair quicker than the Miuras on the big straight.

Very possible. I like to run a little more aero, especially on courses like the Nurburgring with so many high speed corners and lots of elevation changes. I was still sliding around corners like crazy though. :)
 
Second place is the best I can get. I just can't get in the draft of the first Miura...
But not giving up. Later on the day I'm gonna try to use the setup of you, BDoggPrelude :)

Haven't tried less downforce actually.

What should I set my tranny at to get a good draft pull?

I think I'll just wait for the Nomad Diablo to appear in the UCD...:nervous:

That's how I was feeling. I was averaging 7:20 but managed to bring it down through practice. It must have easily took me well over 50 tries. Keep grinding away!!

This. It's do-able in any of the Lambos and I don't think the tune matters much as long as the top speed is appropriate. And if you're not too much of a purist SRF is a big help here. It'll stop you spinning out every time you put a wheel on the grass.

My first attempt gave me 7:25. Later attempts on the same day yield 7:14. After 3 days of desperation, 7:07 was achieved. Another few days later, 7:04 and a win at the last corner with tapping on AI miura. In short, don't give up
 
You can't use the Nomad in this race. If ever there was a race that seems true to life in GT5, this is it. Practice is the point, not the car or the tuning. If you use a Miura or Gallardo or anything else, it's more or less the same. Learn the track and you will be down to 7:15 or better in a while. Learn the first 45 seconds and you'll be well on your way. That first corner is a pain but it's crucial to the race. It's not madness (that's what I thought too), it's frustrating fun. And no, I haven't won it yet. Second is the best so far. I will say that my times are WAY less than when I thought it was unbeatable, at least 15 seconds less than I thought I could ever do. Keep trying, my friend.

Hi all, I can confirm that these settings works :D

I had to try few times, and drived dirty (I never drive like this but for this impossible race , all is possible to win :P ) but I won :D

I used the 6 clutch gearbox , and I found another way to win:
If you can't get the first position before the long straightaway, you need to stay close the first car, then in the long straightaway following the wake of first car,yours automatically speed up and become first :)

BTW it's important to stay very close to the first car in the long straightaway, because even a little detachment can be fatal and you can't reach the first position !!!
 
Got 2nd, finally, last night. 7:08 using this setup on one of my Gallardos. Did it in 7:08 and nudged one of the three Miuras at the end to get 2nd. I swore that I'd never get better than 7:15 but, lo and behold, it can be done. Just bought another Gallardo and set it up with no PP increases except aero and an oil change. We'll see how it goes. Full non-PP additions but just two PP ones. When you guys say 'aero', you don't mean a wing, right? The wing wouldn't help from what I've read. I hope everyone means just the little scoops on the hatch and not the wing.
I assume everyone uses soft tires, too.

Full aero, rear wing included. You'll have to remove some horsepower in order to keep it at 550PP but it's worth it. I tried it both ways and, for me at least, the added downforce did better for my times than the extra horsepower. It really adds to the overall high speed stability of the car.

Glad this setup has helped a few people.
 
Would anyone be willing to trade me a Lamborghini Diablo? I really need one to finish my collection. I've been looking on the online collectors dealership and the used cars dealership for a bout a month and haven't come across one, plus i just can't seem to crack the Nurburgring on the Lambo seasonal event. HELP

if its not too much trouble, could we have all the working set ups for all the different cars on the same page?

i tried this with a fully tuned gallardo, lowered power to get 550 and did 7.10. i did a pretty good race imo, since im not that familiar with the ring. i could do better, but that will cost me too much time. im gonna buy a murc 640 and try it with the set up mentioned in this thread. if that doesn't work, i'm going back to the gallardo.

i managed to do all the other races in 1, 2 or 3 tries. ive tried the ring like 3 times already and 7.10 was the best i could do. i'm actually normally not this bad on the ring. even if i'm not completely familiar with the track, i can still pull of good lap times with racing softs on a lm prototype or with one of the f1 cars. but then again these cars don't handle like doodoo.

if possible could we try to make an ultimate set up for the gallardo with all the info gathered so far? i have a feeling that i'm gonna fail with the murc....
 
After 4 tries in a Murcielago Superveloce, my best is 7:23, 6th Place, 15 seconds behind the Miuras... I tried different gear ratios, but it really doesn't make a difference, since the cornering speed is just too low. Even powersliding like a mofo doesn't save me any time. All I see is tail pipe.

My Murc beat all the other races.... It's Tsukuba all over again... (Oh and I have the Nomad already, too)
 
damn it and damn it again. the murc 640 ive bought, i did all the non pp increasing tunes, did the oil and aero tunes and lowered the power a bit so it would have 550pp. my first try in this car i did 7.11, which took me 3 turns with the gallardo. the 2nd try was going much better. but before the really sharp almost u-turns where your car hangs like in a nascar corner (sorry not familiar with ring or names of sections) there comes corner that you need to shift back to 4th gear after a long while of just floaring it. this is all still before the hanging nascar like u-turn corner. i was 11 sec behind roger rabbit with a long way to go. cpu made me do a 360 and i gave up, i think this was the #3 or 4 car in that 4th gear corner. im soo mad right now, and disapointed.

anyway im liking the murc, i feel as though i can make it now (would have if cpu didn't kill me). i think the car would handle even better if lowered, anybody have the right settings for lowering the murc640?

thanx in advance. whats tranny trick?

The clock starts when you cross the start/finish line, he is well beyond that when the clock starts. He is getting a big head start on you.:sly:

I found this very annoying and very unfair. If this is as PD says "REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR" than please explain to us in which race in the world timing starts like in your game?
With timing like this first on the start have like almost half a track advantage!?!?!
Apart from being unfair it is stupid! Maybe PD could think of different flying start. The one that is actually taking place in real racing?!
 
Just won at Nurb after many tries. Used a Gallardo 560 with everything on it and a (slightly modified) setup from this thread. Caught the lead Muira on the final straight and I swear the bugger tried to block me. Tough race, for me at least.
