Very impressive find. I remember back on GT5 I thought of using 100% wet with low reduced grip on wet surfaces (as opposed to real) on a Tokyo Bay oval. I never really put a lot of work into it though and never thought about best tire compound/wetness level combination.

Very bad at this. Best i can do is driving conservatively and slaps nascarfan1400 face everytime he crash -___-

I do Nascar. Just not on wet

Practice makes perfect. You were doing a bit better towards the end.

I would love to get in on this, over at the PCS I had the idea brewing a few months ago about something like this. Essentially what mine boiled down to was NASCAR home tracks feel. I still have it listed, But had the idea that I would make small dirt and ovals and use the 2010's to simulate a K&N car or Late Model. Unfortunately. With the course maker, that isn't really possible, but I had never thought of the wet however. I would love to race sometime though.

We should try increasing power to 550-600 HP to encourage the cars to slide, I always understeer. :^(

With 500hp, the car are faster to drive them without sliding.

I think if you increase the power, it might make them faster to slide them... therefore encouraging the slide.

New Testing Information
I used an oval of 1.14 miles long. This meams tighter turns and longer straights compared to what we ran the other day in the room Nas made.

- 650hp 2010 NASCAR with Racing Soft tires
- Flat track was used.
- It favored a slight drift to get fastest possible times. (For me anyhow)
- Throttle management was key. Even though I could be full throttle out of the corner, it wasn't as fast.

EDIT: I tried it with tuning prohibited on the same track with 3 sets of HP's.

445hp - Favored a slide into the corner all the way to the apex.

650hp - Again, favored the slide to have a fast time.

892hp - Not quite sure what the fastest way to drive it was, but I actually got a faster time with the 650hp.

***All sessions had racing soft tires equiped and Grip on Real. With no driving aids.

What "grip reduction" setting are you using in the circuit options?

Using the "real" setting (instead of "reduced") might make other tyres the better choice; for instance the comfort tyres have inherently better "progression" and they have physical construction / properties closer to "dirt" tyres.
