well first I'm going to make sure i'm at gamestop right when it opens or earlier. Depends whether I get a ride but if I do I'll be playing GT5 20minutes later. If I don't get a ride, I'm trooping it to and from the train. It's probably a 30-45minute walk each way but eitherway, I'll play GT5 as early as possible. First thing I'm doing is trying to get first place in time trials for once in my life lol then I'm trying the top gear track over and over again

Walk to GameStop, buy it, walk home, put it in my PS3, and play it. I'm not that religous about it anymore.

Get home from work, have dinner with my family then take them to the park to watch the bonfire night fireworks display.

Uh...I'm gonna play it

Really, it is just a game. Yes, I'm going to enjoy it. Yes, I'm going to play it for hours on end. However, the main reason I'm getting it is because I'm forced to stay separated from my beloved, so it's mainly a distraction to pass the time. Also, I might have to move for a few years, and that will be hard. GT5 might help me keep my head straight during the lonely months ahead. Alright, I'll enjoy it, but some guys....kind of maybe need to get a life.

Enjoy the game, don't live in it. You're missing out on a lot. Ask me how I know.

That being said, I'm rather excited as to how this forum will look on release day. It'll probably be flooded with so many new threads discussing a ridiculous amount of subjects that it will take weeks just to comb through it all. Additionally, I think the forums over at FM3 are going to seem a little empty by comparison...as a relatively serious member of that forum, I've noticed that it's been dying more and more lately.

My plans for when it comes out? Since I don't own a PS3 yet, I'm going to have to buy one, preferably at least a day before GT5 is out, because I want to get used to the system's features and interface at least a little bit; I've never used a PS3 before, and if I don't learn to use it, it'll be nagging me.

I'm still undecided whether I will buy one or not, because I might find a problem with GT5 that I don't particularly like. Since this is rather unlikely, however, I think that there's a good chance I'm going to get it.

Before I (most likely will) get one, I'll look to gamespot to see if they come out with a review of the game. I don't see the trouble in finding out about the games features right before buying it; I'm not really spoiling anything for myself. If there aren't any glaring flaws that will prevent me from buying the game, then I'll find out about the features and go and buy the game straight away. If there is something that will make me have second thoughts, then I'll save my $450 and be a little annoyed. Either way, one or the other is inevitable, so I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into before I make my sizable purchase.

Replace fireworks and the park (it'll likely be -30F by then ) with bathe and tuck in kids and that about sums up my evening, I'd imagine.

Still a toss up as to whether my wife will give up the plasma or if I'll wait until she's in bed to play. Regardless, I'm in no rush.

I'll go on GTPlanet, looking at all the wonderful news, videos, screenshots etc., wishing that it would bloody arrive in Jamaica already.

True, but isn't playing Gran Turismo part of real life?!?!

And if not then what is real.......

However, I just want to point out this thread is awesome. I love seeing people equally as obsessed with going crazy as I am. I really feel like its Christmas all over again.

I personally, need something to look forward too : \ (/end woe is me rant.)

I also realized that my friend wants to join me and I told him it wouldn't work cause its like making love for the first time......you don't want a threesome.

You speaketh the truth!

I was going to invite all my other GT fanatics over to the house as soon as we got it, but then I realized how that just wouldn't work.

Anyways, for my plans: I'm going to get all of my work/papers finished early for that week of classes and just take off the 2nd and 3rd providing I don't have an exam. I'll have a nice 12 minute drive to the Gamestop over a beautiful winding mountain road, meet my buddy there before opening, and commence to take videos/pictures to upload to facebook while I wait of course. A giddy shriek or two may slip out. I'll grab the sacred plastic box containing a disc labeled GT5 and sprint to my automobile. From then on, I'll try to keep it under 120.. and try to not take a mirror off flying into the garage. In full-blown sprint, I will attempt not to break bodily limbs/the game on the stairs. If I make it through the previous events without serious injury, the install will begin, at which point I will go get an icy bottle of water, my camcorder, my tripod, and evacuate waste from my body. From then on you know what happens :D

I have two days left of holidays I will plan to take off work.

November 1st - I will take off the Xbox 360 wheel - stuff that away nicely cause I ain't gonna touch Forza for a LOOOOOONG time.

Take out the dusty but tried and true G25 and mount that to my playseat. Take a good hour or so to gently and neatly tuck all the wires nicely.

After all that, I'll head to probably Walmart to get a nice giant poster board and write a nice message to Kazunori Yamauchi and the crew at PD a nice giant thank you card and take a picture of it - posting it probably on this website and other gaming blogs (Kotaku) when the game is released.

Play maybe 2 hours of GT5P on November 1st with all driver aids off to get myself into the GT driving style groove. Continuously check up on this site.

I'll naturally take Nov 2 and 3rd off. November 11 is vets/remembrance day - a national holiday which will be nice.

I'm probably going to binge GT5 for 2-3 days tops and get back to studying for the accounting final. Sucks. But after that I will have 2 weeks of no college classes to get back into GT mode again. Anyways the most intense prep I've ever done was a check list for FFXII way back ...2005? booking off an entire week for that damn thing.

During loading of the game onto the HDD I'll causally take pictures and post my setup while getting a feel of the game manual/special order boox APEX.

Requesting off work that day, buying a 4 pack of monster, and locking myself in my room with GT5 and my G27.

Well, hah! This is how I imagine it will be.

. Wake up at around 04:00 after falling asleep at 00:00 or so if I'm lucky!
04:15 - Curse about waking up so early and loaf my hiney to the computer and check out all the US GT stuff I can find. Drool.
05:00 - I'll most likely try to sleep around this time but give up at 05:15.
05:16 - Make coffee. GTP Forums for about one more hour, this time with a pint of coffee at hand.
06:00 - Call the friends I'm picking up copies for and tell them about some of the things I've seen on GTP. Care less about spoilers! :D
06:30 - Shower. Realize that this is the day I've waited for the last four years.
06:45 - Think about what clothes I should wear, jeans aren't too comfortable when it comes to racing!
07:00 - GTP Forums with more coffee. Drool again.
07:30 - Put on a new pot of coffee, consume!
08:00 - Call the bloke that I'll be riding with to the Game Stop store (35 minute drive).
08:02 - Convince him that we need to move "right now!" so we'll get there in time.
08:04 - More GTP since he doesn't want to go until around 09:15. Coffee, drool.
08:55 - Spam my ride with SMS about why (Godzilla, traffic jams, Pluto's orbit, food) we have to go now.
09:00 - Get picked up!
09:04 - Get threatened about having to walk there if I don't chill the h*ll down!
09:15 - Drool.
09:40 - We're there! Realize that they won't open for another 20 minutes.
09:45 - Apologize for being so stressed out, try to explain why I'm so hyped.
09:50 - Buy more smokes from the store right next to the Game Stop store.
10:00 - Get Gran Turismo 5 in my hands!!
10:05 - Begin the longest journey ever.
10:06 - Get threatened to walk, again.
10:07 - Ignore threat!
10:25 - Drop one copy of the game to one of the friends. Hype him about my new wallet.
10:35 - And another buddy gets his copy.
10:40 - Last guy get's his game!
10:55 - At home! Run (while drooling, would be awesome seeing it in slow-mo with Vangeli's Chariots of Fire.) up the stairs to my flat like a gazelle in Serengeti.
11:00 - Unbox the Signature Edition as if it was catnip.
11:04 - Drool.
11:15 - Put the game into the PS3!!
11:16 - Installation begins hopefully!
11:17 - Check out the Trailer on the USB Stick.
11:19 - Place scale model on a temporary shrine.
11:40 - (Ish! Not sure how long installation will take) See the intro of Gran Turismo 5!
11:42 - See the intro again!
11:43 - Play.
16:00 - Order Pizza, wipe up drool puddle.
16:45 - Eat pizza while trying to race. Then just eat pizza and look at cars. Check out B-Spec.
17:00 - More Coffee!
17:05 - Play until 04:00 or something, drool when needed. 👍

I also realized that my friend wants to join me and I told him it wouldn't work cause its like making love for the first time......you don't want a threesome.
Oh man, if ever a truer word was said, I'm yet to hear it! I'm just the same with pretty much any new game - I just want it to be me, myself and I ;)

My journey will start at 11:30pm on Thursday evening as I head out to my local 24hr ASDA. Assuming I haven't left it too late and there are enough copies for everyone, I'll hand over my cash and drive home with the biggest grin on my face! However...in contrast to what I should do, I will actually go to bed for a few hours, and then start a 12hr+ gaming session in the morning.

My food of choice for such sessions is the humble hot dog, with copious amounts of coffee to keep me alert!

 GT is life! Everything before or after is just waiting :dopey:.

But yes, it is just a game and I have more important things on launch day to do, mainly go to work and take care of my girlfriend who will have just undergone knee surgury. I will still hopefully get the game on launch day and be able to play for a bit. I mean Kari will still be laid up on the couch so it's not like we can go anywhere.

Thanks 91killuminati, now look what you made me do?! The perfectionist in me had to have both sides so I can print, cut out, and laminate! I even sorted out the annoying jagged line on the edge!

I should make a crap-load of these and hand them out to people waiting at the midnight launches! ;)

I should probably point out that I've pre-ordered with release day delivery and once my son is tucked up in bed I'll be running a bath for my wife with the instruction to have a nice long soak so I should still get a bit of a go ;)
