The world will go on its first game based holiday. I thus pronounce Nov. 2nd thru 5th the days of GT.

Well, hah! This is how I imagine it will be.

. Wake up at around 04:00 after falling asleep at 00:00 or so if I'm lucky!
04:15 - Curse about waking up so early and loaf my hiney to the computer and check out all the US GT stuff I can find. Drool.
05:00 - I'll most likely try to sleep around this time but give up at 05:15.
05:16 - Make coffee. GTP Forums for about one more hour, this time with a pint of coffee at hand.
06:00 - Call the friends I'm picking up copies for and tell them about some of the things I've seen on GTP. Care less about spoilers! :D
06:30 - Shower. Realize that this is the day I've waited for the last four years.
06:45 - Think about what clothes I should wear, jeans aren't too comfortable when it comes to racing!
07:00 - GTP Forums with more coffee. Drool again.
07:30 - Put on a new pot of coffee, consume!
08:00 - Call the bloke that I'll be riding with to the Game Stop store (35 minute drive).
08:02 - Convince him that we need to move "right now!" so we'll get there in time.
08:04 - More GTP since he doesn't want to go until around 09:15. Coffee, drool.
08:55 - Spam my ride with SMS about why (Godzilla, traffic jams, Pluto's orbit, food) we have to go now.
09:00 - Get picked up!
09:04 - Get threatened about having to walk there if I don't chill the h*ll down!
09:15 - Drool.
09:40 - We're there! Realize that they won't open for another 20 minutes.
09:45 - Apologize for being so stressed out, try to explain why I'm so hyped.
09:50 - Buy more smokes from the store right next to the Game Stop store.
10:00 - Get Gran Turismo 5 in my hands!!
10:05 - Begin the longest journey ever.
10:06 - Get threatened to walk, again.
10:07 - Ignore threat!
10:25 - Drop one copy of the game to one of the friends. Hype him about my new wallet.
10:35 - And another buddy gets his copy.
10:40 - Last guy get's his game!
10:55 - At home! Run (while drooling, would be awesome seeing it in slow-mo with Vangeli's Chariots of Fire.) up the stairs to my flat like a gazelle in Serengeti.
11:00 - Unbox the Signature Edition as if it was catnip.
11:04 - Drool.
11:15 - Put the game into the PS3!!
11:16 - Installation begins hopefully!
11:17 - Check out the Trailer on the USB Stick.
11:19 - Place scale model on a temporary shrine.
11:40 - (Ish! Not sure how long installation will take) See the intro of Gran Turismo 5!
11:42 - See the intro again!
11:43 - Play.
16:00 - Order Pizza, wipe up drool puddle.
16:45 - Eat pizza while trying to race. Then just eat pizza and look at cars. Check out B-Spec.
17:00 - More Coffee!
17:05 - Play until 04:00 or something, drool when needed. 👍

That was complete, absolute WIN, way to go, those plans are like mine, only I'm getting the collectors instead of the Sig.

As soon as possible~> McLaren F1. 200 mph. Dottinger Hohe. In my underwear.

Everything else will be icing on a delicious cake. I must eat it.

I just went and ordered my copy from the local video store five minutes' walk from my house. Their price is 10% cheaper than Amazon and they'll be open at midnight. And it just so happens that the 3rd is a national holiday here in Japan so I'll have the entire day get to grips with it. Can't wait!

My exams start on the first of November and end on the 11th... so it seems I won't get to buy it till then =/.. Having said that I'm fairly confident that i'll be thinking more about GT5 than my exam on that day and will probably get it as soon as my exam finishes.... Damn you education!

05:55 - drools at intro, drools at the fact I own GT5, drools at menu, drools at used car list, and starts doing the first license

I have the next day off so guess what I'm gonna be doing all day:sly:

The funny thing is, nobody is going to execute their minute-by-minute plans as written, as they are clearly just excitement and anticipation spewing out into the forums! Good laugh though :D

Oh trust me I've been planning this for months. I know exactly what and when everything is gonna happen

Launch day? Work! Work the longest working day of my life to date, then just for good measure, work some more over the following days and fall massively behind on progress on everyone else.

My plans depend on what time my postman arrives. I find it appalling that my post arrives between 11am-2pm. Im old enough to remember my post arriving at 7am and you would get a second delivery at 11am. How times have changed for the worse!!

I also hope my copies do not go missing in the post. I was reading the F1 2010 forums the other day and I was amazed at how many games got lost in the post. Based on the replies on the thread I would say 25% went missing!!

When GT5 arrives im going to hammer the game for the first week. I shall probably play all day and only take 1hr breaks to allow my PS3 to cool down. I can imagine GT5 is really going to push our PS3s.

November 2nd

6:30am - wake up
7:30 - leave for school
10:30 - come back from school
11:30 - go back to school
5:30pm - get back from school and wait for stupid independent courier that amazon started using a month or so ago to show up with GT5.
6:55 - call girlfriend and tell her I'm about to cheat on her, put phone on the floor while she screams
7:00 - open game, watch intro, fall asleep
11:00 - wake up, drink a pot of coffee, an extra strength 5HR ENERGY, listen to the 15 VM messages said GF left, stay up til I have to leave for school
Jan2011 - call GF and ask if we can get back together.

LMFAO. That's got to be the funniest GT5/GF situation I've heard all year. 👍

Where do I start, my plans are all fecked up. I went from Ireland to USA for a holiday in July to visit family, met a girl and got engaged. Came home, sold everything and emigrated to the States to be with her, although I posted my ps3 out here. Fell out with her only a few days ago and moved in with my uncle. PS3 still hasn't arrived :( GT is out in less than a month. I'll be moving back in with the folks, need to look for a new job and need to buy another wheel then get some sort of cockpit together.

Yay for November 5th! It's a Friday! No school for the 6th/7th, so guess what I'll be doing! >:]

Wait till lunch time for the Postman to arrive, he'll probably be even later on the 5th :grumpy:

Install game and hope it doesn't take ages, browse everything then start on some Licenses.

I hope to have my own "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" board with all my friends on it.

Let's hope the Cee'd is in!

Nov 1
Wait patiently at work for 11 AM to call the local Game Stop ask if they are doing the midnight launch?
If they are not ask if I can pick up my copy early, as they should have it instock ? 💡:sly:
If they area 11:30 PM head over to the GS store wait in line.
Nov 2.
12:15 am - Get back home, open up and play though it until
06:45 pm - Go out get some sun light (oh wait) get some fresh air- (no more day-light) and play some footy.
10 pm - Take shower ignored GF calling for dinner and play some more.
2 AM - Get yelled at to go to bed.

If they have a midnight release:

11pm - Wait in line.
12:20am - Get home and start it up.
2:00am - Go to sleep.
10:00am - Wake up and play all day. I even put in for the time off when they announced November 2nd release date.

If they don't do a midnight release, I'll be at the store at 9:30am to get my copy at 10.

Finland time GMT+2
Wednesday, November 3rd, I presume.

07:00 - Alarm, snooze.
07:30 - Alarm, wake up for real. Shower, coffee, bread, morning's paper, take a dumb.
08:50 - Pack up, go to school.
09:00 - Start school day.
14:50 - End school day.
15:00 - Arrive at home, check mail, yep, Finland's post has screwed up, no notification of the package been delivered. For the rest of the day, do something nice, maybe visit your girlfriend.

Thursday, November 4th.

The same thing, expect after school pick up the game from the post office with the notification that was in the mailbox in the morning, then play like hell and ignore your girlfriend's calls.

You guys must hate your girlfriends if you'd ignore her for a video game.

For a video game I've waited for five years, sometimes even desperately, I think it's not wrong to push away everything else just for one day. Or that's how I feel, and I don't think she'd be too upset about it.

Priorities, you're doing it wrong.

It's just a game, I can think of far more important things in your life then a game. How do you think your girlfriend would feel if you said you were choosing a game over her? If you don't have any planned with her and she understands you want to play a game, it's one thing, but to purposely ignore her for a game? Errrr that seems like it would have a negative impact on your relationship.

And my girlfriend hasn't lied to me, cheated on me or attempted to cut off any body part.

It makes me wonder how many of you actually have girlfriends .

You must have a faulty sense of humor.

I think people are serious.

Of course I could invite her to my place, but for what reason? To watch me in my gaming rig for five hours straight playing a game that I'm sure wouldn't be interesting to her at all? I don't think so.

You guys seem to know my relationship and my girl better than me! Or at least Joey D seems to. Why would it have a negative impact on my relationship? She doesn't care if I want to be alone for a day, and if I spend that day playing GT5.

Edit. And Joey D, yes, I am serious.

Did you read what I wrote? I'm guessing no, so I'll say it again: it's one thing if you have nothing planned with her and she is ok with it, but to purposely ignore her? Ya that's not ok. If you ignore your girlfriend for something as small as a game what does that say about your feelings for her?

I do it all the time with my girlfriend, if I want to do something I tell her what I'm up too. She's always ok with it, but if she calls or texts or whatever I'm not going to ignore her because whatever I'm doing isn't more important then her. Same goes for my family.

No! she just works late hours...at home...so I have time to burn when she is looking over her work! :) she works 14+ hours a day!
As she deals with APAC time zones.
