Not sure if this has been asked before but ill ask it anyway. Do you think the creators of GT5 are likely to model any cars from this year Le Mans especially the winning R18 Audi or can I dream on?

Probably in later editions of the series, but for now I'd say dreams only I'm afraid.

We really can't expect new cars being added to GT5 anytime soon, but PD could add the R18 If they wanted to. But if they don't mention it in an update, don't expect it. Mainly what I'm saying is, it's possible, but don't get your hopes up.

...but PD could add the R18 If they wanted to.

You mean if Audi wanted to. I doubt PD has limitless licence to use the cars of the manufacturers that are represented in the game. :)

In my personal opinion we will probably see almost no new cars in this game. Just a hunch... :(

PD seems to always be way behind when it comes to new model race cars. Most of the race cars are 10+yrs old, not that its a bad thing but some current models would be nice. I don't think we well see any new cars in the game either included in an update or a DLC. The Audi R30 will be out by the time we see the R18 in a GT game lol.

The thing is the people who have posted on here fail to realise that Audi is not going to let some game attempt to model a car that they're racing and still slightly developing. Why would they give out that info and let it out in the open? Now if you criticized GT for not having the R15 Plus...that's understandable but a car that just came out this year...you're more of an optimist than the OP if you expect Audi to give away info on new competitive cars.

I can understand what you are saying here but its not completely true as the Peugeot 908's (both team peugeot and oracle matmut) prior to this weekends le mans race were very up to date.

You're right I forgot about that. Now people will be asking for the 908's of this year instead of last which have changed. But you're very correct on this. And let's not forget that the Audi R10 is not that old and was raced in last year's lemans and is also on GT5.

Most, doesn't mean all race cars. The Audi R10 is a '06 model year, raced as a factory team car 06,07, and 08, great addition no complaints about it. Peugeot 908 another great racing car glad its in GT. Thats the only current race cars in GT5. Lots of great race cars from the '90s and early 2000s and early but weres the current ones? Audi R15, Acura ARX 01 and 02, Lola Aston Martin, Corvette C6R (GT1&GT2) Aston Martin DBR9, Ferrari 550GTC(GT1), Ferrari 360,430,458 GT2 cars, Saleen S7R, Panoz Esperante coupe, Lamborghini R-SV, Spyker C8 GT2R, BMW M3 GT, Masarati MC12 GT1. Also missing some of the older Panoz LMPs, Cadillac LMPs, Mercedes CLR, Audi R8R and R8C. I realize that not all can or will be added, but theres only been a few true race cars added to the GT series since GT2 came out. All kinds of other racing games have most of the cars I listed, Need for Speed, PGR, Forza, iRacing, Grid. On and on why can't GT have a few more. Although none of those games even come close to GT.

Yeah, they don't even have the R15, which has been racing since early 2009.

The R15's debut race was in March of 2009, and by the end of 2009 it was in Forza Motorsport 3 (as DLC), so less than nine months after it first raced. It was "a car that they're racing and still slightly developing" as of its inclusion in FM3. The R15 was a project being tweaked through at least 2010, that I know of, culminating in its subsequent appearance as the R15 Plus in 2010.

And let's not forget that the Audi R10 is not that old and was raced in last year's lemans and is also on GT5.

Still running it doesn't mean it isn't old. It started racing in early 2006, so it's been over five years by now. It's been outdated by two full new models as of today, not even including the R15 Plus version of the original R15. So, if the R18 was the PlayStation 3, the R15 is the PS2, R15 Plus is the PS2 slim, and the R10 is the original PlayStation. (Yes, I'm aware that there was an R8 before the R10 but I ran out of PlayStations. I can't say it's the "PlayStation -1".)

Exactly the C6R has been around since 2005, pretty pathetic that it isn't in there. but what do you expect? GT5 has been a let down. I still play the game and enjoy it, but with what they have done so far, leaves their competition catching up FAST.

So true 👍 Sure, the game has the '10 908 FAP, recent Super GT cars and the '06 R10, but there are other cars that should have been on the game... DBR9, C6R... -list goes on like... forever ...

Most times I agree with you but the Audi R15 wasn't as great of a car as they were expecting out of the box like the R8 and the R10 thus due to not being able to win and have the same speed and durability like it's past car they quickly worked on updates for the R15 hence the quickness and release of the R15 Plus, this car was brought in for the main purpose to get back a Le Mans victory. This could point to why they released the info on the car and gave it to Forza to use for it's game so quickly. Yet you fail to quote how I said I do agree that GT should be criticized for not having the R15 Plus. It's not really that old compared to small time teams racing the Audi R8 for as long as they did. Really 4 years with that car isn't too long and there were updates each year it's not like it was the same car in 2006. Also you're analogy is a good attempt but I would and many other racing enthusiast would for sure say the R8 = a playstation 1 going off your analogy if I will.

I think they should have Koenigsegg in the game. And my favorite car, the Gumpert Apollo. No, wait that's my second favorite. My favorite car the Porsche Carrera GT. Damn, they can't use Porsche in their game for one reason. Guess I'll have to leave this forum feeling emptier and emptier.

They shoulda put a Rocket Ship in this game. Damn, they already "wasted" their time with the X2010.

It will be interesting to see what would be in the game if Kaz got his extra years to work on GT5.

Not even when GT6 comes out (2-3 years time) will we know what GT5 could have been. GT6 will be a whole new game compared to GT5. Those 2 years are a lot of WORKtime to devote a team to, once they completed the main foundation of the game.

Audi sells their licence to pretty much anyone who asks. I once saw this ad with this sexy R8 driving around the bends. I thought it was a commercial for the Audi R8. Turns out it was an ad for a coffee shop!

How about The Peugeot from last year's le mans?

No, it isn't. The '10 908 HDi have very few in common with the actual '11 908. Looks the same, painted the same but it's a brand new car. They didn't want to change the name for some marketing issue (it's just called 908, not 908 HDi). Not the same engine, not the same chassis, not the same aero (look at the dorsal spin)

There is just one '10 908 HDi still racing, in the Oreca team. The one wich won in Sebring this year, and that you can buy in GT5 (with the 2010 paint scheme, quite different that the new one)

So said either the Audi r15 or r18 is in the game :/ They should make an update where they putted in some of thoose new cars :D

Just looking at that list of cars makes me want to write to sony and beg them to put those in.

I suppose PD may want to put in the new Peugeot 908 in the game... as it's sponsored by Playstation AND GranTurismo 5 which means they are sponsoring a team and should also mean thay have the right to put the car in the game...

I'd love to race that car in GT5

They added some extra cars in GT5 Prologue. They said they could do that in GT5... So I'm pretty sure they will be some new cars. One day.
I'm sure some cars makers are pushing PD to ad their brand news '11 models in the game. Race cars ? Maybe.

Pure speculation, but I know that people at Audi don't like the R15 Plus car. Ugly design (they tried to hide the double nose with the paintjob), and poor results. It only won Le Mans because of Peugeot's failures. Ulrich Bez wasn't even happy of the 1-2-3 result last year. So I don't think this car will be in a videogame. Ever. (correct me if it has already been done)

Audi R15 is in Forza 3 don't know about the +model. I think the only race car that hasn't been in any video games is the '99 Mercedes Benz CLR race car that flip 3 times at Le Mans, MB's CEO said Mecedes will never return to Le Mans after that happened. Although there might be a chance now since its been restored and is privately owned by a collector, might be able to find a loop hole similar to the BMW Fina Mclaren, before PD aquired the Mclaren license.

Most frustrating thing is no Porsche in GT games. These guys made the best LM cars ever... Imagine some 917, 956 or 911GT1 in GT5 !

Can't understand why we can't have Porsches in GT, as we have them in even the crapiest videogames....

I've got some of the Ruf but never tried yet. Prefer run with classic cars or with premium ones... These standard Rufs remembers me the times I was playing GT2. (It seems they are closer to GT4 but I never played on the PS2)
