Leaderboards Reset

The old laptime leaderboards have been cleared so if you want to go out and set loads of World Records now is the time!

I'll be working late tonight and won't have a chance until tomorrow. Figures. By that time Alan will have them stacked and I'll have to pick something obscure like the like the 575M. In a way, I'm kind of sad to see all those times fall--so many memories. LOL But it was the right decision and I'm kind of glad that we can start fresh and from a level playing field.

Yeah, I think it's great to get rid of those "impossible" times.

Jeff, don't feel sad because you won't be losing your memories! Your previously set Personal Lap Records still show up when you are doing a Time Trial. What people (myself included) might find is that they may never be able to match some of the times that they set in the past.

i was on nurburgring last night with the aston martin, i'm struggling to get below a 2 min lap so did a bit of testing between low/no TC and ABS and full settings to see what is quickest and i can't quite make my mind up, do you guys go with low traction and abs for quicker laps or just realism? i tend to go with low settings but i think it may be slower.

i noticed the world record for that track is around a 1:43, is that the fastest recorded lap in any car or the car you are using at the time? if its the fastest ever lap how do you know what the quickest lap is with the car you happen to be using at the time (for a fair comparison etc)

i'm assuming the 1:43 is a new time after they wiped the leaderboards

Hi Paulzx,

Well, there are a couple of issues.

- Nurburgring and Silverstone both have issues with 'impossible' times posting to the leaderboards. Eutechnyx is working on it and trying to determine how this is happening. They are also working on a bug that affects the cars performance with raised ride height. Once both are corrected in an upcoming patch* the leaderboards will be reset once again, and hopefully that will be the end of it. I'm honestly not sure what a competitive time is for this car without checking.

- When you view the leaderboards there are two options. One to see the ultimate times posted to the leaderboard for any individual circuit. (Frankly, I don't even see the point of this option). And another option where you can choose to view times by car, which makes a lot more sense.

- For most of my lobbies, I mandate all assists switched off. Granted, I've been hosting races with a lot of 'classic' cars and I think it's just plain silly to allow stability control or traction control in a 50 year old car. But in general, I don't like racing with assists because I think eliminating them levels the playing field.

when you time trial a track in a certain car and it shows you the 'world record' time on the right of the screen, is this overall fastest time or fastest time in the car you are using? i understand you can look up the times on the leaderboard by car but i was interested to know what the time is that displays whilst you're actually driving the track.

i've noticed your rules are set for no aids in your events - which is realistic for old cars but what about new cars? they almost all have abs and traction control so although i think it takes a lot more skill to drive without aids it seems almost unrealistic to do so with the newer cars.

when you guys go into a random online lobby do you opt for aids or aids off? i know you can restrict all of this in the lobby but quite often i see lobbys where the aids are permitted and wondered if you all change settings to suit.

2. practice + skill
3.ppl who drive without assists , dont change, unexperienced drivers change all the time.

Ah I'm sorry. I knew it looked a bit dark for the Austrian flag. But some other flag colours in SCC look a bit unusual (like Denmark - a bit orange).

this makes a lot of sense to me, i rarely switch off all the aids, normally run with 2 traction 2 abs but i sometimes wonder what the point is when others who use all the aids have a faster and easier to control car at their disposal!

unless of course you guys using no aids are beating the drivers using full aids!!

I never use any assists on any car. I'm not even sure whether using assists potentially makes you faster or not.

will i cant see the out side of my lobby it was korean so i have been told by many people.. may be it was fixed with the patch,, not a train smash i guess... deferent people see other things, i was in a lobby once opon a time where 2 people were speaking but the one guy showed as his mic was locked i thought the guy was speaking to himself, then i turned my mic on and asked them have you both microphones and on, they both had.. then they said mine showed as locked and theres showed as open like always, like new soul said networks and servers funny things the matrix can get up to i guess.. merry merry guys...

If that is true, well it's great to have a tight knit community of 'serious' racers rather than the normal random rammers but it does make me wonder why they would bother to continue to support the game, it can't be very lucrative can it?

I don't know about SCC2 but I bet there will be more driving games from Eutechnyx in the future.
The poor support that Ferrari Challenge & Supercar Challenge received from System 3 really hurt them, SCC wasn't even released in North America.
Now that Eutechnyx has dumped System 3 they will hopefully have more success with the next game.
