As long as petrol or diesel engines don't disappear, I won't hate electric or hybrids. They are cars (almost) and are fun to play with every now and then.

Finally I can put something against the Mitsubishi i-Mev. If I ever get to update GT5 and get the dlc, that is.

I like the leaf because it'll actually save motorsport. How? Less fuel used on the road means more fuel available for racecars.

Everyone's happy in the end (at least in my head).

racecars dont use 87oct fuel.

GT5 should have city environment to test electric cars for economy runs etc. Racing is not very interesting with them.

A quick thing PD could very easily implement is selectable fuel load and restrictions for the amount of fuel allowed. In this way "economy run" races could be possible.

100 liters of fuel (by the way, PD should also fix this. Cars don't have all the same fuel tanks) take too much time (by sprint race standards) to consume on any car.

Need some events for them to make them relevant. Go green at green hell?

Electric cars will eventually kill everything I like about motorsports. The smell, the sound, the excitement.

EXACTLY...That's the reason i hate them and probably the reason many more people hate them

I'm glad they are including electric cars. I don't have anything personally against the Leaf, tbh. Looks ok and makes an extra addition to the game.

Oh man, I've never thought of that. I'm sure that won't happen though.

No, we all still hate the Prius. :)

No, we all still hate the *****. :)

don't say that word ever again, it has ruined the car.

electric cars will ruin motorsports because people will focus on clean not speed.

Why hate on these electric cars (Prius, Leaf, Tesla) ? At lease they don't have the pathetic performance of a G-Whiz. :P Just saying

There's your answer oopsorry, as this guy pretty much represents the majority. I refuse to guess a timeline, but eventually we won't have the sound of a V8 firing up in our driveway, much less a track. I imagine it will happen sooner than we think.

When I was younger I put loud exhaust on everything I owned. Bikes, cars, trucks, he'll even my riding lawn mower had a modified two brothers on it. As I've gotten older, I now appreciate the technology involved to get a vehicle whisper quiet. Advances in oil, exhaust and sound deadening give us very
quiet cabs to ride in.
I cringe now when I hear a Honda scream by sounding like a weedwacker. The wife and I just look at each other laughing. We still love our V8's, the 540i and Corvette in the garage will be around as long as I can afford oil, but their days are numbered.
I think the Leaf is excellent technology, and hope millions buy it to save some oil for those of us that need it to keep our 8's Rolling.
