Like the title says, what is your least favorite gear to switch up into if you have a wheel which supports an H pattern shifter.

My least favorite gear would have to be 5th.

If you have a wheel that supports an H pattern stick shift, what is your least favorite gear to shift up into?

Well I don't I have a wheel with an H-shifter but I'm thinking back to when I drove a stick shift car and none where that hard, so I'm just gonna say 3rd. :p

Interesting, third is the worst for me as well... because there's something wrong with my tranny and it sometimes slips out of third. I had asked to have it fixed when I sent it off to get reverse fixed but it didn't happen.

Why isn't there the 1st gear in the poll? That's got to be the worst one in my opinion.
If it's too short it will be unusable due to wheelspin. Too tall and the car will have a hard time launching from still. But the latter rarely happens: in GT5 "racing" or "sports" transmissions almost always have (or start with) a stupidly short (and therefore wasted) first gear.

Probably due to issues with my old car. 3rd gear.

1st is top left normally, easy to find.
2nd is straight down from 1st, easy to find.
3rd is letting the stick to the middle, then push, not always that simple.
4nd is straight down from 3st, easy to find.
5th is top righ normally, easy to find.
6th is straight down from 5st, easy to find.

But mostly no issues shifting (more issues with the clutch then the stick).

I have trouble slotting getting into 6th gear, I very often screw it up, let the clutch out at the wrong time and wind up in neutral, way more often than I do with 2nd.

Personally I hate the Prius CVT in GT5 because it works inconsistently and always at the same rpm regardless if the engine has been upgraded or not (causing a loss of performance, since the engine almost always working below peak power). However the Honda Insight CVT always works at a stationary rpm placed at peak power even after installing all engine upgrades so it's much more controllable and enjoyable for sporty driving (but I probably wouldn't like to cruise with it as it keeps rpm too high. Its transmission is probably not completely simulated in the game).

it's hard for cars with a short 1st gear (~30mph) unless you enjoy banging off the limiter which in real life would not be a great idea.

Second is nice as a gear, it's underrated.

Top Gear Top Quote.

My least favourite gear is 3rd. Why? Because it's the hardest to setup properly. No matter what car you're in. Unless you're in a Chaparral, in which case the choice is clear

Although 2nd looks the weirdest. :boggled:

Skipping 2nd gear during corners by staying at 3rd gear, remember? :p
