Hang on a minute muso. I think I have a tune to keep it in a straight line. Let me work on it and I will post it on Saturday 💡

Haha damn Zee, whaddiya mean with GT40 laps @ Monza 58 "a lot"?! :D

All 3 of those cars will be real bitches to control but you just gotta tune and/or master it. Hell, we survived the Datsuns already!

Seriously it wouldn't be worth my involvement with that car , the datsuns were a dream compared to that gt40 , i though the e-type was bad but that thing is just  I haven't even tried the other one yet :yuck:

Zeeco i think you need to go for therapy , to try an help you stop inflicting unecessary pain and frustration on your fellow gtp'ers :lol:

Wish there was a spectator thing on Shift like there is on GT5 , it would have made for brilliant entertainment on Sunday :lol:

Oh come on Muso, its not like you' ll have the only terrifying GT40 in the field, we' ll all scream like little girls as we' ll rocket down the straights in a ballet of s-curves... Dont be a sissy! :D

:lol: yeah s'pose you're right , just don't want to take everyone out in my uncontrollable car :nervous::nervous:

Ummm...why you going to mess up my strategy? I am banking on a nice, big wreck in order to pass everyone as I barely use the gas on the GT40.

I think people are all going to have their hands full with this one!

Hey Vaax let me put a tow rope onto your car , and i can act as an anchor to stop your back end sliding all over the place 👍👍

Damn if only. But I am thinking you want to rope on Texas...almost a guarantee on 2nd place!

A suggestion for next "series". Teamates! Team points. Would add some more strat I am thinking.

Like Clarkson once said, its how we all want to go: Crashing through the pearly gates with a big V8 smile on your face... backwards... and on fire! :D

Dont worry, I ll be there, crashing out alongside you. We could start some new discipline: Synchronized spinning! :scared:

I just thought of something: What controller are y all guys using? Maybe there is a bug hidden in there for certain wheels. Ss with the Radical, I cant keep that thing straight for the life of my with my DFGT. And tuning has exactly zero effect on the whole weaving. Others wrote that they love the Radical and that they dont experience the uncontrollable weaving down the straights.

With the DS3 the GT40 is just fine. Huh?!

I have the same problem with the GT40 on my Fanatec GT3 RS V.2 wheel.

I was really looking forward to that car when I got the Legends DLC, tried T-12's tune to no avail.

Before the patches both the Radical and Caterham were unmanageable, but I can now control them.

The Lotus Exhige and GT40 are still a handful though. I don't know how I managed to win the Exhige in the invitational C before the patches. Remember I was cussing a lot at the time.

PS3 Slim/120GB

I'm using a DFGT and as previously stated no amount of tuning including T12's tune gets rid of the weaving , plus the grass seems to be a lot more magnetic too , especially down the back straight heading towards the right hander at the bottom .

Unfortunately i haven't got a controller anymore , i smashed it while i was playing Bad Company 2 last week . Just lost it because of the hit detection , and wanged it of the radiator .

I've not long been into racing games/sims , but i always thought a wheel would have been more appropriate for a game /sim involving cars , if we get into our real life everyday cars , we don't have a controller in there do we ? But it seems Tex has certainly put that myth to rest .

So heres the question , what has the greatest advantage , a wheel , or a controller ? Is it just whatever you get used to over time , or has one or the other got a distinct advantage ? Just wondering .

I think the vast majority will be faster with a wheel... TexasT being one of the rare that is FAST with a DS3. I started S2U with a controller and switching to a wheel improved all of my times by a large margin. I just can't drive a real or virtual car fast with my thumb.

muso, have you tried turning on steering assist just for the GT40 race?

TexasTyme, I would like to challenge you to a IRL race but you can only use your thumb:)

I really think there is some sort of bug in the Logitech or wheel drivers regarding some cars. Radical, GT40, Works Caterham. Just uncontrollable, no matter what you do with tuning. Steering lock and wheel angle settings have no effect at all on the weaving.

But whatever, I just hope I manage to knock nobody out accidentially while limping around in my GT40 in last place on Sunday. I m looking very much forward to the other 2 races, though.

One thing I will try till sunday is if steering assist helps with the weaving. If so, would it be ok for you others if the DFGT users experiencing the horrible weaving would use it?

Ive been using it , doesn't seem to help much if any :guilty:

Oh Geez. Then I officially ran out of ideas how to control that car. Hmm, maybe we could use drunken monkey style kung fu driving or something... But since there is another race after that, drowning sufficient amounts of booze for that wouldnt be a good idea neither, probably. :indiff:

Just been thinking 💡(yep pretty dangerous i know) i might not have a controller anymore , but i do have an AimonPS mouse and navigator that i use to play my FPS games , think i'll give that a try on controlling the GT40 :odd:

I can control the Radical, Lotus and the Cater just fine now, but had some major issues with them when I first started.

I have had some luck with tuning, and steering settings (at least on the superlight and radical). I actually find GT3 cars harder to control than the Lotus, and the Radical.

On the DFGT I have tried about every single setting. From 420, to 720, to 480, and now 370. One thing that sounds silly but turning the FFB to 95% actually helped a bit with that weaving. 5% doesnt sound like much but it made it not jerk as much and actually a bit more easy to correct. If we all do some tunes this week and can get it running strait, cool. If not, we will be in some for laughs anyway!

Vaxx, you might be actually onto something there. Maybe turning up (or down?) the speed sensivity and the FFB just for the GT40 race might help. I ll try that later on.

But regarding steering angle, I play with 540 to 720. So that should actually reduce the weaving effect in relation to your smaller steering angle, right? *brain starts to hurt from thinking hard*

Oh God, why cant that b**** a** GT40 just go in a goddamn straight line, holy schmack! :ouch:

Does everyone use steering assist

I have used it on cars I cannot control - doesn't help a whole lot but can smooth things out. I am using a DFGT and can drive the GT40 (after some tuning also) with steering assist - still can be an adventure.
