The six-car thing is much worse on the Nürburgring, I think...

As for the slow cars.. that's when you drive the chicaned version of the track. :) Besides, this is a high-speed track.. it's simply not meant for slow cars (it's like the Test Course in that respect). Seriously, how long would it take to head down that straightaway in the Daimler? Who's top speed seems to be a whopping 16mph?

How long is that straightaway, anyhow? I assume there's a measurement of it somewhere.. I know it's longer than the Döttinger straight at Nürburgring (by a fair margin), and I'm fairly certain it's longer than the straights on the Test Course.

The Mulsannes Straight is roughly 3 miles long. That's why two chicanes were put in, the FIA stated that no straight shall be longer then 1 mile.

We do, but thats the only change in the track layout.

Maybe, yeah, you're right, the Ring seems so lonely... I can foresee the 24hr endurance trial there: if computer cars separate, you'll find one opponent every hour or so

The Lemans video was really nice. The sense of speed is top notch. The only thing bad that I have to say is that the race car sounded so horrible. It sounded nothing like a real race car. And :yuck: at the stupid transmission sound. I hate that sound so much.

Well, consider this little stratigic tid bit...

It's possible for two cars drafting one another on a straight like this to achieve a faster top end speed than either car can do alone without a draft.

That's about right. One may begin to feel quite lonely. Although I tend to do better without the AI distracting me constantly. 24 hour race, 7:30 minute lap...192 laps. = 2740.2 miles!! at 22.835 km lap.

About the video: sucky format, but appreciated nonetheless. What's up with the digital tach in 3rd person camera view? And dang, that's one long strait. Plenty of time to 'enjoy the scenery' in a slower vehicle.

Do we have the version with the chicanes?

actually Circuit de la Sarthe 1 is the one with the chicanes... Circuit de la Sarthe 2 is the one without them... still looking to unlock Sarthe 2...

I don't the Nurburg will get boring at all, even if it feels "lonely" when you run out of AI cars to pass. That track is just incredible.

Perhaps, but it sure ain't much of a hill :dunce:. Perhaps if you're breaking 220mph...

That's the hill that was changed after the clr flipped. if there's one more version of le mans, I hope it's the 99 one with a straight infront of the dunlop wheel and that hill the clr crashed near.

Did you guys notice all those bumps in the track!! That is incredible, no more perfectly flat courses :dopey:

Some more constructive commentary on the video:

Are you saying Nurburgring is flat? It looks kind of bumpy from what I've seen, but maybe not as bumpy as it should be.

Also, are you sure the track is bumpy, or is it just a suspension effect they did just for that straight (which would be feasible)?

MMMmmm yes... those CLR pics were....interesting. :scared: I wouldn't mind the hill in GT4 though. ;)

Portions of LeMans are bumpy because they are public roads and lorries use them quite a lot, meaning that there are deep ruts in the pavement.

No, I´m saying that Nurb is bumpy as hell. It´s very hard to control the car in some parts of the track because of it´s bumpyness.

...Yeah bro you said it. Not to mention the elevation changes, tight slow corners, and oh it's got to be the longest track I've seen to date!!! It takes a very long time for most to memorize the turns, and smoothest race lines.

The Ring Rocks all other tracks in my book.
