I'll probably have to sent my wife with the kids for a holidays to get the 40....now I'm lvl 31 but getting ready to do the Suzuka 1000km and probably Tsukuba 4h roadster.

Yes...uuuhh, isn't rubber band trick the same as the fully automatic a-spec grinding? maybe I'm confused, what exactly is the rubber band trick then?

I did was the fully automatic a-spec grind for about 5 1/2 days non-stop to get from mid 35 to 40.
I got nothing against the SSR7/Nurb' Glitch either, I just found it too much of a hassle for me doing all those steps to get the glitch going.

Got to level 40 over the weekend. Waiting for save during endurance to do the 24 hour races. What did annoy me is the way they turn the Exp. to --/--. I'd have done it differently, why not just stick it at 00/9999999, then if they add more levels in the future, the races that you do while at 40 contribute to your new level. Ie say you get to 20000/99999999999 you level up according to the update. Just a suggestion, its how a popular iphone app i play worked when they added more levels.

A-spec 34 , about half way through. I could go up 2 levels in about a day from Endurance races but.... Homework and getting blazed , I don't have a free 9 hours to spend on GT5 any-more , Ive reached the 20,000,000cr limit and have all 10,000,000 and over Premiums so im happy enough dosing along on GT5 for now.

I'm level 40 now, and expected some fireworks, a prize car, some music and a thumbs up. But no, just the lvl 40 trophy and that's it.

A bit disappointed really.

Finally acheived A-Spec level 40 an hour ago, to go along with B-Spec Level 40!

All thats left for me now is to win the Nurburbring 24hr race, silver/gold Nurburbring & Sazuka on the Red Bull X2010 challenge and collect cars like mad.

Hit level 40 last night as well finally - not much, if any fanfare when it happened.....

Oh well....now I can buy an X2010 in whatever color I want. Then all of my money goes!

Level 40 here...Rubberbanded my way up from level 31 and very comfortable with it now that I have 833 Cars, Have cleared out the New Car dealership and am cycling through the UCD every time I hit the 20Mill Cap. I'm currently at work, happy in the knowledge that my PS3 is earning me 1Million credits an hour without me having to be there.

Rubberbanding may be frowned upon by some as not a 'Legit' way to get through the game, but for me, it's empowered me to start enjoying GT5 now that I can drive whatever I want, wherever I want, whenever I want without having to play through the soul destroying waste of time that is the A-Spec Non-Game.

Have to agree with my name-sake here. Almost identical experience and outlook as me.

With the seasonal events AND with the glitching, there's not much merit to have by getting to level 40.

I got the game on launch day and I was level 28 without seasonal events in early january. I find it funny that when people said that they had 1000 cars, the "no life" threads were everywhere. Oh yeah, where's the "why do you want to be level 40 that fast ?"

Anyways, I stopped playing a month ago, still at level 31. Had I known how to glitch, I would have done it but didn't care.

I left my original ps3 running for 6 days and nothing happened, It just got a wee bit slower is all.
