Levels of immaturity online...

Read the title, Does it say 'OMG I WAS IN ROOM WITH GURL TODAI AND SHE GOTTEN HARRASSED' no, it doesn't. It's about immaturity levels online and this is a prime example I had in my head. Oh and low and behold I knew she was a girl because *gasp* she had a mic.


Oh and next time I'll just end it with "oh and we absolutely pummeled her because she could not drive to save herself" just so skeptics like yourself get what you are after. 👎

Also, about the "broadcast" thing, I think her name is a play on the term "boy racer" rather than pointing out she's a girl.

The voice on the Mic could be on the voice changer or just a very effeminate Man :sly:

The way I see it, as racing games are not a 'girlie' thing to do the majority of girls you see online play GT (and likely other race games) a lot, so are quite good at it.
 
Whilst away from "GT5 online", its still inline with "immaturity" and "simulation racing"...

So for those that don't know, I work Saturdays at a racing simulator centre and race in a championship there as well. During one of my briefings on Saturday, when asked if the group had any questions, one guy asks if his girlfriend would be hindered because she is a girl. I thought she was going to slap him, only she did NOTHING. Explained that actually girls pay more attention in the briefing and generally do better at first as a result. He wouldn't accept that though, and kept stating "but what about...", all the while she still sat there doing nothing and the rest of the group are now thinking the same thing. Was great to see she beat him in the race though :)
 
To be honest, I think the same thing applies online, pezz. People for some reason think that just because someone states they are a girl they somehow automatically deserve all the abuse that comes their way.
 
I hate the rooms like this. I had an Estonian, i think, continually just spouting utter racism at everyone. Be it country, gender, car colour, he was awful! After hed took sexism a step too far i let my eleven year old sister loose with an Enzo... He was seriously useless. She won.
 
I did an exercise once playing Zynga poker online. I changed my name to a girls name & my avatar to a relatively pretty (but believable) girls pic. The change in attitude, the come-ons & the amount of free chips I was offered had to be seen to be believed!

Man, some people need to get a life.

I joined a room today that was being hosted by a girl, and my god...this was unreal.

The amount of harassment and ridicule aimed her way was unreal! 👎

Anybody else experienced anything like this online?

(And for the record we raced, me , her and the idiots and she whooped us big time)

Is this immaturity or other thing? the harassment in the net is on all levels, maybe is not immaturity, just young boys who wanna get laid and have no balls to speak a girl drectly to face, maybe is just the puberty wich is normal.

Now, run the track in reverse or kick someone just for fun thats immaturity.

I mind the harassment is normal, but, i was victim of the kick just for winning, wich i hate most!! 👎

I haven't played a lot online, but i bet it's not that bad. Just play a round COD:BO & you'll know where the "kids" are. :lol:
 
I only go into rooms where the chat has been disabled. I don't own a headset and I will never own one. I don't care what other players' opinions are of my ride or how I race.
I just want to race. I listen to people saying stupid things all day, I don't need it when I come home to relax, too.
 
Is there an easy way to sort the rooms? The low PP and such type races would be much more my speed. When if first came out, I did online and ran into the typical fan fair and just opted to play 1P. Plus doesnt driving a million horsepower car get old?

If I could get into a room with racers instead of people that are bored, it would be nice.

You should have stopped to read my saying that it wasn't my not believing it, just that all girl/harassment stories about online gaming always pan out exactly the same.

FYI I know a 26 year old guy that people (including family) think is his mother on the phone. And I think there's some pre-pubescent boys that may sound like girls also.

Odd, I don't broadcast my sex through my id...

Just saying I think you got worked up over nothing, IF it was a girl, and it bothered her, she might not tell everybody. Just seems like a think tank kind of idea.
 
I just join Lobbies with SRF = off and i look for rooms where only Roadcars are allowed. The Skilllevel is kinda good and the maturity is quite good, too. So the immaturity is maybe just in lobbies with SRF = On, bcause its much easier and the kiddies wanna have an easy race

That's because all of the little kids are in bed by then. Either that or they want to play Call of Duty and shout homophobic slurs at anyone who kills them.

Just because you don't do something doesn't mean everyone follows you. You shouldn't be afraid to "broadcast" anything, if i'm honest.

There are alot of tools online, the good folk I have met and still race with more than makes up for this though. Just stay away from the Top-Gear track :)

But it's this type of reaction that fuels the behavior.
You know as well as the lot of us viewing this, anyone that sees what they did get posted on the internet is going to be thrilled.
 
GT5 online is a much nicer place to be on than this forum in terms of politeness.
