oh yeah...the kids who sound as young or younger than I was in 1998 when GT1 came out...yeah those kids make me angry. And they make me feel old because they weren't even born yet, or barely born.

Oh man... when a girl with a "sexy voice" joins the room EVERYTHING HALTS. Nobody races anymore, nobodies doing hot laps, or drag racing, no drifting even... nothing happens. Every room I've been in and there's been a girl in it everyone crowds around her like they've never seen a girl before - catering to her every need, kicking people she doesn't like, changing rules and regulations... ugh it's the most annoying thing ever. A very fair host turns into a crying baby faster than a Veyron hits 60.

This is my most recent peeve with online immaturity.

Maybe they think, they just might get some?

Well, a long time ago, hosted a race specifying that it was a custom created track, and several people joined. One was an annoying child(assuming), who kept shouting at me to change the rules, to change the track, to change the time/weather, and started sending me abuses....he left later, and then i met some mature racers, and we spent the next several hours having fun online.

Yeah true....thats what i did, then you get abusive messages.....then you have to ban them from contacting you.
 
Yeah I hear the same argument in PS HOME about harrasing women. You gotta remember though you are dealing with gamers, who may not have contact with females daily, so they get a little excited when they do see one.

I run into about 75 billion every day.I work 8hr's+overtime 6 day's a week and come home to play a race,chillax and have fun.I usually end up giving up after 5-6 rooms because there is ALWAYS 1-5 of them in the room and I don't have anyone with GT5 on my friends list (:( ).I am pretty sure I haven't had a decent online race since April,I'm not the greatest driver myself but damn,at least I know how to use brakes and speak properly!!!
edit:I meant I don't have anyone who play's online much.

Remember that people who are immature online are immature in real life. You don't suddenly become a worse person when you go online. But you may feel more free to show your true self.

The gamer world is populated with entitlement babies. Those who have been told their whole lives by parents and teachers how "special" they are, despite never having actually accomplished anything of significance. Those who's worlds don't merely revolve around themselves, but who's worlds CONSIST entirely OF themselves. Others are merely props to be used or abused at their whim.

They come to your lobby and demand the rules be changed to fit their every desire. I had 2 of them yesterday. I ignored them and they went away.

Dude, shoot me a FR and we could chill on GT5. I know how you feel, usually everyone on my Friends List is on CoD or MLB 2K11 or GTA (I love GTA though). But yeah, I'm on almost every day when I can.

That's the problem playing online. There's really no way to police it if you will. And then when i do see clown's like this most of the time the host take's no action. But as for the female harassment i have yet to see a girl hosting a room.

No one know's how to race clean, plain and simple. If you pass someone it's like you stole their food. It's inevitable that in the next corner i will get rammed.

Then, worst of all. Theirs the people who drive in the wrong direction. Seriously, why? If you want to do that go into practice mode and drive backwards all you want.

Basically 85% of the people i encounter online are complete idiots and have no business playing the game.
 
Happened again today, with same woman, was in a public match and all of a sudden there were 16 people in the room and it me and her racing with everyone else gawking and writing hilariously pathetic messages. 👍

Hence the reason that I only play GT5 online with my real life mates and a select few from my friend list, most people who come into our lounge get booted after their first race for being idiots, the ones who join our lounge and are good clean racers get sent a friend request and get invited back whenever we're racing. It's a pointless exercise trying to find a random room where everyone is playing by the rules.

Is she a good racer? I can't wait to find a girl who can whip butt and take names playing online. A good challenge sometimes, if you know her PSN name let me know. ;) I'm a good racer myself and even if I make a mistake I always apologize after we race(have no mic yet :grumpy: ).

Eh. I was a pretty big idiot was I was in the 10-14 range, too. That plus the simple fact that there's douchebags in all walks of life - certainly online gaming isn't going to be different lol.

I dunno I've only raced in aussie rooms really after about 8pm at night, never had an issue. I don't race regularly online, but when I do everyone is pretty cool and if the room is marked for a race, it'll be a serious race. Good experiences here.

The amount of harassment and ridicule aimed her way was unreal! 👎

Anybody else experienced anything like this online?

(And for the record we raced, me , her and the idiots and she whooped us big time)

Firstly, if I were getting harassed in the way you mention because of my sex, I wouldn't go around telling everyone.
Second, I don't specify my sex now, because I have no reason to.

So my questions have to be: How does anyone know "she" was actually a girl, and: Why does she broadcast it if she's harassed because of it?

Sounds like you got worked up over the harassment of a kid playing a joke on everyone.

I can see the problem with harassing a girl over playing, that's pathetic. But a girl that gets harassed for being a girl on the internet just stops saying "HEY! I'M A GIRL!!!"

And why do these stories always end with "And she whooped everybody"? I've never once heard about the picked on girl that sucked.

I just find every bit of this far to convenient. Not saying it's untrue, just illogical from every angle I can view.

Read the title, Does it say 'OMG I WAS IN ROOM WITH GURL TODAI AND SHE GOTTEN HARRASSED' no, it doesn't. It's about immaturity levels online and this is a prime example I had in my head. Oh and low and behold I knew she was a girl because *gasp* she had a mic.


Oh and next time I'll just end it with "oh and we absolutely pummeled her because she could not drive to save herself" just so skeptics like yourself get what you are after. 👎

Also, about the "broadcast" thing, I think her name is a play on the term "boy racer" rather than pointing out she's a girl.
